In rapidly changing educational technology and trends, services providing educational digital contents have been focused on offering new contents customized on the state-of-the-art technology and trends, rather than re-evaluating or eliminating the contents on service based on the changed topics and video quality. This study explores domestic cases about educational digital contents in order to draw implications on proper life-cycle models and effective re-evaluation periods for the quality assurance of the contents. To achieve this objective, representative services in primary-secondary, higher, and lifelong education sectors were selected, and experts in the services were participated in focused group interview. Based on the interview results, the re-evaluation process and life-cycle issues in the management of contents were analyzed according to the educational levels and the implications on the life-cycle models were drawn. This study contributes to establishing a basis for the systematic life-cycle policy of the services in order to make more sustainable management of the digital contents.
The 2020 Gwangju Media Art Festival (2020 GMAF) was held in the area of the National Asian Cultural Center. Under the slogan "The entire Gwangju shines under the theme of "Aesthetics of Light and Coexistence," the media festival demonstrated projection mapping to Jeonnam (former) Provincial Office at the DATA+ Research Institute of Chung-Ang University's Graduate School of Advanced Video. This paper focuses on explaining the overall production process and content development of projection mapping demonstrated in the Jeollanam-do Provincial Government, which is a symbol of Korean democratization and is located in the center of Gwangju, Jeolla-do. It was intended to faithfully express the history of the 2020 GMAF and Jeonnam (former) provincial government, Gwangju's history, and democratization records. It was intended to show images, background sounds, sound effects, and visual effects using various special effects and high-power laser devices using unique characteristics of projection mapping. To this end, about 5 minutes and 30 seconds of content were planned, and it was divided into parts and topics, and one individual story was developed for each chapter.

UAV(Unmaned Aerial Vehicle), which is autonomous flight without pilots. Recently, UAV is being applied to various fields such as video recording, aerial photogrammetry. In particular, UAV is getting a lot of attention in the field of space-related information because of it's data acquisition speed and economic feasibility. But analytical study of an unmanned air-side technologies are lacking. In this study, the research of equipment for the unmanned aerial surveys and UAV technologies and trend analysis for generation of terrain model and ortho image effectively were performed. As a result, the ways to improve the utilization field of unmanned aerial surveying and processing of fixed-wing and rotary-wing unmanned aircraft. were suggested. If analytical research on generation of terrain models and ortho image will be performed, production efficiency of the geospatial information industry is expected to be significantly increased.
For this study, I conducted a survey investigating current situation, user preference, and field experiment. Hospitals utilizing digital sign systems at least five years were selected, which are connected with visual elements (layout, typo, color) used in waiting areas and elements of the systems (time, video time line). The results obtained from the field survey showed that digital sign systems used the color of typo and background contrasted to one another to increase explicitness and to ensure easy understanding of contents. In addition, the Gothic typo with relatively high legibility was adopted. Time and video timeline, which characterize digital sign systems, showed the advertising screens of the hospitals and the guidance of medical treatment at regular intervals. Moreover, survey results on user satisfaction showed that a majority of respondents indicated they had difficulty in understanding digital information conveyed from digital sign systems due to time setting for rotational speed or the small size of typo although most of the users had previous experience with digital sign systems. The highest proportion of respondents (n=86, 86%) answered that information related to medical departments was what they sought most frequently and that this kind of information should be importantly considered in digital sign systems. For the experiment, new samples with restructured contents of current digital sign systems were created and tested while keeping its design unchanged as well as applying these new samples. Study participants were in their 20s through 50s. When the size of typo was larger under the same conditions for all age groups, study participants found the desired information approximately 3.5 seconds faster. In addition, those in their 20-30s and 40-50s showed the time difference of 4.7 seconds for small typo and 6 seconds for large typo, which suggested that there was a difference by age in the amount of time taken in the experiment to find the desired information from the rotating digital sign system regardless of age and the size of typo.
3,000 years ago, since the first poster of humanity appeared in Egypt, the invention of printing technique and the development of civilization have accelerated the poster production technology. In keeping with this, the expression of poster has also been developed as an attempt to express artistic sensibility in a simple arrangement of characters, and now it has become an art form that has become a domain of professional designers. However, the technological development in the expression of poster is keep staying in two-dimensional, and is dependent on printing only that it is irrelevant to the change of ICT environment based on modern multimedia. Especially, among the many kinds of posters, the style of movie posters, which are the only objects for video, are still printed on paper, and many attempts have been made so far, but the movie industry still does not consider ICT integration at all. This study started with the feature that the object of the movie poster dealt with the video and attempted to introduce the augmented reality to apply the dynamic image of the movie to the static poster. In the graduation work of the media design major of a university in Korea, the poster of each works for promoting the visual work of the students was designed and printed in the form of a commercial film poster. Among them, 6 artworks that are considered to be suitable for augmented reality were selected and augmented reality was introduced and exhibited. Content that appears matched to the poster through the mobile device is reproduced on a poster of a scene of the video, but the text informations of the original poster are kept as they are, so that is able to build a moving poster looked like a wanted from the movie "Harry Potter". In order to produce this augmented reality poster, we applied augmented reality to posters of existing commercial films produced in two different formats, and found a way to increase the characteristics of AR contents. Through this, we were able to understand poster design suitable for AR representation, and technical expression for stable operation of augmented reality can be summarized in the matching process of augmented reality contents production.
To improve video quality and coding efficiency, H.264/AVC adopted an adaptive rate control. But this method has a problem as it cannot predict an accurate quantization parameter(QP) for the first frame. The first QP is decided among four constant values by using encoder input parameters. It does not consider encoding bits, results in significant fluctuation of the image quality and decreases the average quality of the whole coded sequence. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for the first frame QP decision in the H.264/AVC encoder. The QP is decided by the existing algorithm and the first frame is encoded. According to the encoded bits, the new initial QP is decided. We can predict optimal value because there is a linear relationship between encoded bits and the new initial QP. Next, we re-encode the first frame using the new initial QP. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm not only achieves better quality than the state of the art algorithm, but also adopts a rate control forthe sequence that was impossible with the existing algorithm. By reducing fluctuation, subjective quality also improved.

One of the major trends of automotive networking architecture is the introduction of automotive Ethernet. Ethernet is already used in single automotive applications (e.g. to connect high-data-rate sources as video cameras), it is expected that the ongoing standardization at IEEE (IEEE802.3bw - 100BASE-T1, respectively IEEE P802.3bp - 1000BASE-T1) will lead to a much broader adoption in future. Those applications will not be limited to simple point-to-point connections, but may affect Electric/Electronic(EE) Architectures as a whole. It is agreed that IP based traffic via Ethernet could be secured by application of well-established IP security protocols (e.g., IPSec, TLS) combined with additional components like, e.g., automotive firewall or IDS. In the case of safety and real-time related applications on resource constraint devices, the IP based communication is not the favorite option to be used with complicated and performance demanding TLS or IPSec. Those applications will be foreseeable incorporate Layer-2 based communication protocols as, e.g., currently standardized at IEEE[13]. The present paper reflects the state-of-the-art communication concepts with respect to security and identifies architectural challenges and potential solutions for future Ethernet Switch-based EE-Architectures. It also gives an overview and provide insights into the ongoing security relevant standardization activities concerning automotive Ethernet. Furthermore, the properties of non-automotive Ethernet security mechanisms as, e.g., IEEE 802.1AE aka. MACsec or 802.1X Port-based Network Access Control, will be evaluated and the applicability for automotive applications will be assessed.

It was asserted that must meet the criteria which can correspond to via the new digital era, will be applied to preserve the traditional media. The current image archive is necessary to accommodate proper two different directions.
During maintenance or construction works in or at the tracks of railways, high risks for passengers and railway staff, especially for the workers on the construction site exist. The high risks result out of the movement of rail vehicles, like trains or construction vehicles, which must be faced by using any available technical and operational technologies for securing them against the environment. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the level of protection continuously and to identify new and innovative methods and technologies for the protection of the gang (construction worker, machines and material). Especially on construction sites at line sections with two or more parallel tracks but also with single tracks, there are still a lot of incidents and accidents mostly with seriously injured persons or fatalities. These were mainly gang members that breach the railway-loading gage. By using proper warning or protection systems, the avoidance of such accidents must be achieved. The latest developments. in gang protection systems concern on the one hand fixed barriers in the middle between the construction site and the operated track and on the other hand construction vehicles equipped with automatic warning systems. The disadvantage of such protection methods is that the gang can be warned against an approaching train but a monitoring of the gang members cannot be performed. Only one part of a potential dangerous situation will be detected. If the gang members will overhear the acoustic warning signal of the security staff and the workers will not leave the danger zone in the track, the driver of the approaching train had no chance to react to the dangerous situation. An accident is often inevitable. While the detection of acoustic warning signals by the gang members working on a construction site is very difficult, the acoustical planning of an automatic warning system has to be designed for an acoustic short range level of one meter besides the construction vehicle. The decision about the use of today's technical warning system (fixed systems, automatic warning systems, etc.) must be geared to the technical feasibility and the level of safety which is needed. Criteria for decision guidance to block a track should be developed by danger estimation and economical variables. To realize the actual jurisdiction and to minimize the hazards of railway operations by the use of construction vehicles near the tracks further developments are needed. This means, that the warning systems have to be enhanced to systems for protection, which monitor the realization of the warning signal as a precondition for giving a movement authority to a train. This method can protect against accidents caused by predictable wrongdoing. The actual state of the art technique of using a collective warning combined with additional security staff is no longer acceptable. Therefore, the Institute of Transportation System of the German Aerospace Center in Braunschweig (Germany) will develop a gang warning and protection system based upon imaging methods, with optical sensors such as video in visible and invisible ranges, radar, laser, and other. The advantage of such a system based on the possibility to monitor both the gang itself and the railway-loading gauge either of the parallel track or of the same track still in use. By monitoring both situations, the system will be able to generate a warning message for the approaching train, that there are obstacles in the track, so that the train can be stopped to prevent an accident. And also the gang workers will be warned, while they breach their area.
This paper proposes the H.264-based selective fine granular scalable (FGS) coding scheme that selectively uses the temporal prediction data in the enhancement layer. The base layer of the proposed scheme is basically coded by the H.264 (MPEG-4 Part 10 AVC) visual coding scheme that is the state-of-art in codig efficiency. The enhancement layer is basically coded by the same bitplane-based algorithm of the MPEG-4 (Part 2) fine granular scalable coding scheme. In this paper, we introduce a new algorithm that uses the temproal prediction mechanism inside the enhancement layer and the effective selection mechanism to decide whether the temporally-predicted data would be sent to the decoder or not. Whenever applying the temporal prediction inside the enhancement layer, the temporal redundancies may be effectively reduced, however the drift problem would be severly occurred especially at the low bitrate transmission, due to the mismatch bewteen the encoder's and decoder's reference frame images. Proposed algorithm selectively uses the temporal-prediction data inside the enhancement layer only in case those data could siginificantly reduce the temporal redundancies, to minimize the drift error and thus to improve the overall coding efficiency. Simulation results, based on several test image sequences, show that the proposed scheme has 1∼3 dB higher coding efficiency than the H.264-based FGS coding scheme, even 3∼5 dB higher coding efficiency than the MPEG-4 FGS international standard.
