Tsunami disaster caused great damages and very large victims especially when occurs in urban area along coastal region. Therefore information of evacuation in a map is very important for disaster preparedness in order to minimize the number of victims in affected area. Here, information generated from remote sensing satellite data (SPOT 5 and DEM) and secondary data (administration boundary and field survey data) are used to simulate evacuation route and to produce a map for Padang City. Vulnerability and evacuation areas are determined based on DEM. Landuse/landcover, accessibility areas, infrastructure and landmark are extracted from SPOT 5 data. All the data obtained from remote sensing and secondary data are integrated using geospatial modelling to determine evacuation routes. Finally the simulation of evacuation route in Padang City for tsunami preparedness is provided based on the parameters derived from remote sensing data such as distances from shelters, save zones, city's landmarks and the local community experiences how they can survive with the disaster.
The abuse of zipeprol, an antitussive agent, was found to be most prevalent among young people in Korea. Because abusers take large doses of this drug for its hallucinogenic effects, fatalities from zipeprol overdose abuse have been on the rise since 1991. Since 1991, a total of 69 zipeprol-related deaths have occurred throughout the nation. A demographic study shows that in ninety six percent of cases involving zipeprol alone, the victims were in their teens and twenties. The mate/female ratio in zipeprol related death was 3.5:1. Most of these zipeprol-associated deaths occurred in the larger cities of Seoul and Inchon. The blood concentration of zipeprol ranged from 0.8 to $38.3{\mu}g/mL $in single drug involved deaths, while zipeprol varied from to 35.3 $0.1{\mu}g/mL $in zipeprol and dextromethorphan victims.
The purpose of this study was to describe the features of dating violence and to examine the perceptions of why dating violence occurred and the influence of violence on their relatioships. This study relied on the qualitative research method in order to approach their subjective experience. The major findings were as follows; 1) Respondents had been involved in various forms of violence, including insulting, hitting, slapping in the face, and kicking. Dating violence occurred primarily on weekends and in private and public settings such as the residence of one of the partners and restaurant. It was likely to occur repeatedly and in serious relationships. There were sex differences in prevalence of dating violence. Male partner was likely to be a initiator and do severe acts. 2) The majority of respondents had a tendency to label themselves as victims rather than as initiators of violence. Jealousy was perceived as the primary causal factor leading to dating violence. 3) Both offenders and victims reported emotional trauma like anger and shame. Their relationships has worsened because of physical violence, but didn't terminate.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the incidence and dynamics of permarital abuse among never-married college students. 21.3% of 497 male and female respondents reported that they had experienced premarital violence at least once. Types of violence most frequently used were pushing or shoving slapping and throwing objects. It is interesting that both victims and aggressors interpret violent acts as expression of love most of all. Behavioral response to violent acts were to try to make up to talk to the partner and to apologize. In general the respondents had negative attitudes toward violence in premarital and marital relationships. Males showed more positive attiutudes toward violence than females. This sex difference appeared to have some inflence on marital abuse, In is suggested that counseling program and shelter for victims of severe violence need to be developed.

Based on characteristics of victims, the parent education program focused on building a new concept of personal respect toward their children and on changing overprotective and coercive parenting styles into democratic parenting. The social skills training program focused on building self-acceptance, self-esteem and interpersonal capabilities in victimized children. Three groups, each composed of 6 victims and their mothers, were compared to examine the effectiveness of the programs. Children in experimental group I showed marked increase in self-esteem. They also reported that their mothers' overprotective parenting decreased after participation in the parent education program, indicating the effectiveness of the intervention program.
Most elderly victims of senile dementia in Korea are cared for at home. This creates hardship for their families. Recent research suggests that the physical environment can affect the treatment of dementia. In light of these findings, a prudent approach to the design of the housing environment of family with dementia sufferers is advisable. This study aims to determine the design factors that need to be considered for the housing environment of dementia, particularly for those suffering from Alzheimer's or Cerebrovascular dementia. For this study, and in-depth qualitative investigation method was employed. Principal caregivers were interviewed using various investigative tools, including objective measures, structured and non-structured questionnaires. The investigation results suggest that the need for housing environment improvement varies with the severity and type of dementia. The housing needs in this study, is expected to promote a focus on improved design management for the environment and housing of dementia and their families. The results also suggest the establishment of a welfare policy for senile dementia victims and their families.

In the recent years ransomware has become one of the most popular malware used by criminals. This particular type of malware is notorious for locking users' data or systems and unscrambling it only after the victims pay a fee. With more and more individuals, companies and public agencies being targeted and the ransom being as high as $17,000, the need for countermeasures against this kind of malware is greater than ever. This paper explores how the malware infects and encrypts its victims. Then, it suggests mitigation techniques based on how the ransomware spreads, making special emphasis on countermeasures in order to protect end-users.
Humans have a long history of asbestos use. There are reports from the Roman era, of asbestos victims among the slaves who worked in asbestos mines. The fact that asbestos can induce lung cancer and mesothelioma was verified epidemiologically in the 1960s. Asbestos related diseases are predominantly occupational in nature but can be caused by environmental exposure. Environmental mesothelioma is mainly associated with tremolite asbestos and this information comes from many countries including Turkey, Greece, Corsica, New Caledonia and Cyprus. In 1993, the first case of mesothelioma in Korea was reported in an asbestos textile worker. Recently, some asbestos disease victims who lived near an asbestos factory have their cases before the courts. A series of recent asbestos-related events in Korea, for example, the shocking revelation of asbestos containing talc in baby powders have caused the general public to become aware of the health risks of asbestos exposure. Asbestos related diseases are characterized by a long latency period, especially, mesothelioma which has no threshold of safety. Hence the best strategy for preventing asbestos related diseases is to decrease asbestos exposure levels to as low as possible.
The large-scale disasters occur to unexpected accidents such as natural disasters(earthquake, typhoon, tsunami, etc.), and human-caused accidents(fire, collapse, terror etc.). Rescue teams perform rescue activities to save many lives in large-scale disaster area. The main purpose of this study is to compose a optimal routing planning for rescue of multiple victims in disaster area. A realistic routing planning with rescue limit time which considers rehabilitation and reconstruction will be suggested in this study. A mathematical programming model and a hybrid genetic algorithm will be suggested to minimize the total spending time. By comparing the result, the suggested algorithm gives a better solution than existing algorithms.
The purpose of the present study was to explore the stability and changes of participant roles in the bullying process, namely, bullies, victims, followers, outsiders, and defenders. In addition, this study examined associated environmental characteristics of both followers and defenders in sixth graders among peer bystanders in the fifth grade. The participants consisted of 461 children from grades 5 to 6(male: 239, female: 222). Data were collected at one year intervals for two data points. The results indicated a moderate consistency in the participant roles the children take across time. Followers and outsiders tended to change differently in their roles one year later. On the other hand, defenders, bullies, and victims tended to keep the same role. The defenders group generally had higher levels of peer attachment, teacher attachment and community's supervision than the followers group. The implications for future research and intervention in bullying were also discussed.
