  • The vibrational system of this study consists of a cantilever pipe conveying fluid, the moving mass upon it and an attached tip mass. The equation of motion is derived by using Lagrange equation. The influences of the velocity of moving mass and the uniformly distributed tangential follower force have been studied on the dynamic behavior of a cantilever pipe by numerical method. While the moving mass moves upon the cantilever pipe, the velocity of fluid flow increase, the tip displacement of cantilever pipe conveying fluid is decreased. (omitted)

  • Dynamic characteristics of the bell-type structure including acoustic effects and transient dynamic problems were analyzed numerically. Natural frequencies, mode shapes and transient dynamic analysis used the finite element method with 3-D general shell element. Mode shapes and stress distributions of transient dynamic analysis were expressed by computer graphics. The method using this study was evaluated by comparision of theoretical results at reference papers(14), (15) and the experimental test using Fast Fourier Transform analyzer. Vibrational modes governing acoustic characteristics of the typical bell-type structure depended on the first flexural mode(4-0 mode) and the second flexural mode(6-0 mode). Asymmetric effects by Dangiwas, acoustic holes gave rise to beat frequencies, and the Dangjwa was found to be most effective. When impact load acted on the bell, stress concentration occured at the rim part of bell. It was found that the bell type structure should be designed thickly at the rim part in order to prevent impact load from stress concentration.

  • Statistical energy method is widely used for the prediction of vibrational and acoustical behavior of complex structures, such as ship building and automobile in mid-, high frequency ranges. However. in order to convince this SEA result, it is important to verify estimated SEA parameters, e. g. modal density, energy in each subsystem, damping loss factor, coupling loss factor. with possible other method. For modal density parameter, the experimental estimations via Experimental Modal Analysis are checked with those from finite element method for both beam- plate and plate-plate cans. Loss factors are calculated by Lyon's simple method for the two subsystem. finally. modal experiments are carried out by varying the mass added on the junction of two subsystem for the purpose of investigating the influence on the coupling loss factor's behavior.

  • Structural cracks may cause variations in structural stiffness and thus produce bilinear vibrations to structures. This study examines the dynamic behavior of structures with breathing cracks. A generalized algorithm based on the finite element method and bilinear theory was developed to study the influence of a breathing crack on the vibration characteristic. All the formulae derived in the time domain were applied to estimate the period of the overall bilinear motion cycle, and the contact effect was considered in the calculations by introducing the penetration of the crack surface. Changes in the dynamic characteristics of cracked structures are investigated by assessing the variation of natural frequencies under different crack status in either the open or closed modes. Results in estimation with vibrational behavior variation are significant compared with the experimental results available in the literature as well as other numerical calculations.

  • In this paper, a model updating technique in dynamics is used to identify elastic properties for pultruded GFRP-Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic framed structural systems used in civil construction. Traditional identification techniques for composite materials may be expensive, while this alternative approach allows to identify several properties simultaneously, with very good precision. Furthermore, the procedure of a non-destructive type has a relatively simple implementation. Properties describing the mechanical behavior for beam and shell finite element modeling are identified. The used formulation is based on the minimization of eigensolution residuals. Important points concerning model updating procedures have been observed, such as the particular vibrational behavior of the test structure, the modeling strategies and the optimal placement of the sensors in the experimental procedure. Results obtained by experimental tests show the efficiency of the proposed procedure.

  • A thermal decomposition of the tert-butoxy radical has been studied in the gas phase over the pressure range of 1-200 torr at $413_{\circ}K$ using di-tert-butyl peroxide + trimethylsilane mixtures. The relative rate constants were obtained by studying the competitive reactions between tert-butoxy radical decomposition 4(t-BuO·→ CH_3COCH_3 + CH_3·)$ and hydrogen abstraction reaction from trimethylsilane $(t-BuO·+ HSi(CH_3)_3 → t-BuOH + Si(CH_3)_3)·).$ The conventional RRKM calculations were carried out to compare the observed fall-off behavior of the decomposition rate constant $({\kappa}_d)$ with the theoretical predictions using reasonable values of input parameters. In all cases the calculated half-rate pressure $(P_{1/2})$ were significantly higher than those observed. The failure of RRKM to reproduce the fall-off behavior led us to suggest that not all of vibrational modes contribute to excitation (leading to decomposition) on the same time scale.

  • The network theory studies interconnection between discrete objects to find about the behavior of a collection of objects. Also, nanomaterials are a collection of discrete atoms interconnected together to perform a specific task of mechanical or/and electrical type. Therefore, it is reasonable to use the network theory in the study of behavior of super-molecule in nano-scale. In the current study, we aim to examine vibrational behavior of spherical nanostructured composite with different geometrical and materials properties. In this regard, a specific shear deformation displacement theory, classical elasticity theory and analytical solution to find the natural frequency of the spherical nano-composite structure. The analytical results are validated by comparison to finite element (FE). Further, a detail comprehensive results of frequency variations are presented in terms of different parameters. It is revealed that the current methodology provides accurate results in comparison to FE results. On the other hand, different geometrical and weight fraction have influential role in determining frequency of the structure.

  • In this paper, a comprehensive review of nanostructures that exhibit piezoelectric behavior on all mechanical, buckling, vibrational, thermal and electrical properties is presented. It is firstly explained vast application of materials with their piezoelectric property and also introduction of other properties. Initially, more application of material which have piezoelectric property is introduced. Zinc oxide (ZnO), boron nitride (BN) and gallium nitride (GaN) respectively, are more application of piezoelectric materials. The nonlocal elasticity theory and piezoelectric constitutive relations are demonstrated to evaluate problems and analyses. Three different approaches consisting of atomistic modeling, continuum modeling and nano-scale continuum modeling in the investigation atomistic simulation of piezoelectric nanostructures are explained. Focusing on piezoelectric behavior, investigation of analyses is performed on fields of surface and small scale effects, buckling, vibration and wave propagation. Different investigations are available in literature focusing on the synthesis, applications and mechanical behaviors of piezoelectric nanostructures. In the study of vibration behavior, researches are studied on fields of linear and nonlinear, longitudinal and transverse, free and forced vibrations. This paper is intended to provide an introduction of the development of the piezoelectric nanostructures. The key issue is a very good understanding of mechanical and electrical behaviors and characteristics of piezoelectric structures to employ in electromechanical systems.

  • A simply supported pipe conveying fluid and the moving masses upon it constitute this vibrational system. The equation of motion is derived by using Lagrange's equation. The influence of the velocity and the inertia force of the moving masses and the velocities of fluid flow in the pipe have been studied on the dynamic behavior of a simply supported pipw by numerical method. The velocities of fluid flow are considered within its critical values of the simply supported pipe without the moving masses upon it. Their coupling effects on the transverse vibration of a simply supported pipe are inspected too. The dynamic deflection of the simply supported pipe conveying fluid is increased by a coupling of the moving masses and the velocities of the moving masses and the fluid flow. When four or five regular interval masses move on the simply supported pipe conveying fluid, the amplitude of the simply supported pipe conveying fluid is small at low velocity of the masses, but at high velocity of the masses the deflection of midspan of the pipe is increased by coupling with the numbers and magnitude of the masses. The time which produce the maximum dynamic deflection of the simply supported pipe is delayed according to the increment of the number of moving masses.

Their coupling effects on the transverse vibration of a simply supported pipe are inspected too. as the velocity of a moving mass increases, the deflection of midspan of a simply supported pipe conveying fluid is increased and the frequency of transverse vibration of the pipe is not varied. Increasing of the velocity of fluid flow makes the frequency of transverse vibration of the simply supported pipe conveying fluid decrease and the deflection of midspan of the pipe increase. The deflection of the simply supported pipe conveying fluid is increased by a coupling of the moving mass and the velocities of a moving mass and fluid flow.
