아트리움의 수직온도 분포해석 프로그램의 개발에 관한 연구 (A study on the Development of Vertical Air Temperature Distribution Model in Atrium)

  • Recently the construction of atrium buildings has increased but along with it many problems in thermal environment have arised. since the exterior wall of glass, indoor temperature is greatly influenced by weather conditions and since the space volume is very large, the vertical air temperature is not uniform. So, in this study, a Vertical Temperature Distribution Model was developed to predict the vertical air temperature of an atrium and evaluate the effects of the design parameters on the air temperature distribution of an atrium. To consider the characteristics of the vertical air temperature distribution in an atrium, the Satosh Togari's Macroscopic Model was used basically for the calculation of the vertical air temperature distribution in large space and the solar radiation analysis model and natural ventilation analysis model in atrium. And to calculate the unsteady-state inside wall surface temperature(boundary condition), the finite difference method was used. For the verification of the developed temperature distribution program, numerical evaluation of air flow by the ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model and in-situ test was conducted in parallel. The results of this study, the developed temperature distribution program was seen to predict the thermal condition of the atrium very accurately.

축계 진동 저감을 위한 수직형 안내 베어링의 최적 설계 (An Optimal Design of a Vertical Guide Bearing for Vibration Reduction)

  • This paper describes an optimal design technology in a segment type vertical guide bearing for vertical rotating machinery. Segment type vertical guide bearings have widely used for vertical rotating machinery, however bearing problems, such as excessive vibration and temperature rise, frequently take place in the actual machine. Such excessive vibration magnitude and/or abnormal bearing metal temperature rise result in serious damage and economic losses. Thus the segment type vertical guide bearing should be designed to get optimal characteristics in order to maintain stable operation without bearing failure due to abnormal vibration and/or abnormal bearing metal temperature. The preload ratio is the most important parameter in designing the segment type vertical guide bearing. Because adjustment of the bearing preload by changing the bearing clearance could easily control both the bearing stiffness and the cooling effect. In the paper, the influence of the preload effects on the bearing metal temperature and the bearing stiffness has been investigated both theoretically and experimentally in order to find out an optimum preload ratio. Results show that the segment type vertical guide bearing has an optimum preload ratio at which the bearing stiffness reaches a masimum value while the bearing metal temperature is minimized.

Simulation for the effect of vertical groundwater flux on the subsurface temperature distribution

  • Subsurface temperature is affected by heat advection due to groundwater advection. Temperature-depth profile can be perturbed especially when there are significant vertical groundwater flux caused by external force such as injection or extraction. This research is to clarify the change of subsurface temperature distribution when the 40m x l0m sandy aquifer is stimulated by two different vertical flux($case1:\;{\pm}10^{-5}m^3/s,\;case2:\;{\pm}4{\times}10^{-5}m^3/s$) using a program called HydroGeoSphere. The resulting temperature distribution contour map shows pumping causes vertical attraction of water from deeper and warmer place which result in rising up isotherm. Additionally more injection/extraction rate, more vertical groundwater flux leads to faster Increase in temperature near the pumping well.

Application of the Through-Transmitted Ultrasonic Signal for the Identification of Two-Phase Flow Patterns in a Simulated High Temperature Vertical Channel

  • In the present study a new measurement technique has been developed, which uses an ultrasonic transmission signal in order to identify the vertical two phase flow pattern. The ultrasonic measurement system developed in the present study not only provides the information required for the identification of vertical two phase flow patterns but also makes real time identification possible. Various vertical two phase flow patterns such as bubbly, slug, churn, annular flow etc. have been accurately identified with the present ultrasonic measurement system under atmospheric condition. In addition, the present test apparatus can practically simulate the ultrasonic propagation characteristics under high temperature and high pressure systems. Therefore, it is expected that the present ultrasonic flow pattern identification technique could be applicable to the vertical two phase flow systems under high temperature and high pressure conditions.

Year-to-year Variability of the Vertical Temperature Structure in the Youngsan Estuary

  • Long-term observations were conducted between 1997 and 2002 to examine the variability of the vertical temperature structure in the Youngsan Estuary, southwest Korea, in summer. The observed hydrographic data revealed that the temperature minimum layer in the middle depth persisted through the entire summer of 2000 but was rarely observed in other years. The variability in the vertical structure might be affected by the air temperature during the previous winter and the density difference between the open sea and the estuary. In 2000, the air temperature in the previous winter was lowest and the horizontal density difference during summer was largest. The large horizontal density difference probably produced more active driving of warm water along the bottom, which would have intruded into the Youngsan Estuary. Furthermore, the cold previous winter would have provided a better condition for maintaining cold temperatures in the middle water layer for a longer period.

제주 남부해역 수온 수직구조의 공간분포 특성 파악 (Spatial Distribution Characteristics of Vertical Temperature Profile in the South Sea of Jeju, Korea)

  • 공간적으로 3차원의 특성을 지닌 해양에서 수직적인 수온 자료의 특성을 가시화하기 위해서는 각 수심층별 수평 수온분포도와 같은 2차원적 주제도나 3차원적 공간보간을 통한 입체 모델을 사용하게 된다. 이러한 방법은 해양 현상을 시각적으로 이해하는데 유용하지만, 수직적 수온분포의 공간 패턴 분석이나 수직적 수온의 특성과 다른 해양 요인(해양화학, 해양생물, 기후변화 등)과의 관계분석에는 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 수온 수직구조의 주요 파라미터인 혼합층의 깊이, 최대수온구배, 수온약층의 두께를 추출하는 알고리즘을 이용하여, 수온의 수직구조 특성을 정량화함으로써 제주남부 해역의 수온 수직구조의 공간분포 특성을 밝히고자 한다. 이를 위해 수온 수직구조를 대표하는 세 가지 파라미터에 대한 공간분포지도 제작을 비롯해 공간자기상관 지수(Moran's I)를 계산하였다. 아울러, 세 가지 파라미터에 대한 군집분석을 수행하여 제주 남부해역을 4개 지역으로 그룹핑하고, 각 지역에 대한 수직 수온구조의 특성을 정의하였다.

  • This study aims to analyze the properties of the temperature change in vertical reinforcements in outdoor wall structures in winter in relation to the different methods of bubble sheet installation, and to subsequently determine the possibility of initial frost damage to the concrete as a result of low temperature. As for the experimental variables, double bubble sheets were used as curing materials, and the curing method was to model the part where the slab and the wall intersect and the rebar is exposed, and to measure the change of temperature around the exposed rebar in accordance with the change of the coating curing. It was found that by employing curing method B, which is to install the bubble sheet between the vertical reinforcements, the most vulnerable area, which is 50mm below(④) the surface of the concrete, would be lowered to sub-zero temperature 20 hours later than when using curing method A, and that therefore it is more effective to install the bubble sheet between the vertical reinforcements for the prevention of initial frost damage.

한국남서해의 열 에너지 이용 (Utilization of Energy in the Sea Water of the Southeastern Yellow Sea)

  • 우리나라 근해의 열 에너지 이용 가능성을 알기 위하여 황해 동부해역의 연직온도차 분포상황 및 그 계절적 변동을 조사하였고, 이들과 해수유동과의 관련성에 관하여 고찰하였다. 하계에는 거안 약 40mile 해역인 125${\circ}$30'E 이서의 34${\circ}$N이북에 연직온도차가 16$^{\circ}C$ 이상 되는 곳이 존재하는 바, 이것은 따뜻한 황해 난류계수의 표면가열과 저층의 황해냉수에 기인하는 것으로 생각된다. 연안으로 갈수록 연직 온도차는 줄어지고, 거안 약 30mile 해역에서는 약 1$0^{\circ}C$이다. 이를 이용하여 온도차발전이 가능하다고 보아진다. 제주도 남부 및 서부해역은 연직 온도차가 약 14$^{\circ}C$ 이상을 보인다. 겨울에는 왕성한 대류혼합으로 연직 온도차는 거의 없어진다. 그러나 겨울에는 강한 계절풍이 계속 발전체계를 여름에는 온도차발전, 겨울에는 파력 및 풍력발전을 하는 방식으로 체계화하면 주년 계속 발전이 가능할 것이라 생각된다.

HadGEM2-AO를 이용한 연직기온 분포와 대류권계면 높이 변화 미래전망 (Vertical Distribution of Temperature and Tropopause Height Changes in Future Projections using HadGEM2-AO Climate Model)

  • We present here the future changes in vertical distribution of temperature and tropopause height using the HadGEM2-AO climate model forced with Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs) scenarios. Projected changes during the 21st century are shown as differences from the baseline period (1971~2000) for global vertical distribution of temperature and tropopause height. All RCP scenarios show warming throughout the troposphere and cooling in the stratosphere with amplified warming over the lower troposphere in the Northern Hemisphere high latitudes. Upper troposphere warming reaches a maximum in the tropics at the 300 hPa level associated with lapse-rate feedback. Also, the cooling in the stratosphere and the warming in the troposphere raises the height of the tropopause.
