The prediction of the susceptibility of soil to liquefaction using a limited set of parameters, particularly when dealing with highly unbalanced databases is a challenging problem. The current study focuses on different ensemble learning classification algorithms using highly unbalanced databases of results from in-situ tests; standard penetration test (SPT), shear wave velocity (Vs) test, and cone penetration test (CPT). The input parameters for these datasets consist of earthquake intensity parameters, strong ground motion parameters, and in-situ soil testing parameters. liquefaction index serving as the binary output parameter. After a rigorous comparison with existing literature, extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), bagging, and random forest (RF) emerge as the most efficient models for liquefaction instance classification across different datasets. Notably, for SPT and Vs-based models, XGBoost exhibits superior performance, followed by Light gradient boosting machine (LightGBM) and Bagging, while for CPT-based models, Bagging ranks highest, followed by Gradient boosting and random forest, with CPT-based models demonstrating lower Gmean(error), rendering them preferable for soil liquefaction susceptibility prediction. Key parameters influencing model performance include internal friction angle of soil (ϕ) and percentage of fines less than 75 µ (F75) for SPT and Vs data and normalized average cone tip resistance (qc) and peak horizontal ground acceleration (amax) for CPT data. It was also observed that the addition of Vs measurement to SPT data increased the efficiency of the prediction in comparison to only SPT data. Furthermore, to enhance usability, a graphical user interface (GUI) for seamless classification operations based on provided input parameters was proposed.
Recently, as construction technology improved, concrete structures not only became larger, taller and longer but were able to perform various functions. However, if extreme loads such as impact, blast, and fire are applied to those structures, it would cause severe property damages and human casualties. Especially, the structural responses from extreme loading are totally different than that from quasi-static loading, because large pressure is applied to structures from mass acceleration effect of impact and blast loads. Therefore, the strain rate effect and damage levels should be considered when concrete structure is designed. In this study, the low velocity impact loading test of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) slabs including 0%~1.5% (by volume) of steel fibers, and strengthened with two types of FRP sheets was performed to develop an impact resistant structural member. From the test results, the maximum impact load, dissipated energy and the number of drop to failure increased, whereas the maximum displacement and support rotation were reduced by strengthening SFRC slab with FRP sheets in tensile zone. The test results showed that the impact resistance of concrete slab can be substantially improved by externally strengthening using FRP sheets. This result can be used in designing of primary facilities exposed to such extreme loads. The dynamic responses of SFRC slab strengthened with FRP sheets under low velocity impact load were also analyzed using LS-DYNA, a finite element analysis program with an explicit time integration scheme. The comparison of test and analytical results showed that they were within 5% of error with respect to maximum displacements.

Peak expiratory flow rate(PEF) is a very important diagnostic parameter obtained from the forced vital capacity(FVC) test. The expiratory flow rate increases during the short initial time period and may cause measurement error in PEF particularly due to non-ideal dynamic characteristic of the transducer. The present study evaluated the initial rise slope($S_r$) on the flow rate signal to compensate the transducer output data. The 26 standard signals recommended by the American Thoracic Society(ATS) were generated and flown through the velocity-type respiratory air flow transducer with simultaneously acquiring the transducer output signal. Most PEF and the corresponding output($N_{PEF}$) were well fitted into a quadratic equation with a high enough correlation coefficient of 0.9997. But only two(ATS#2 and 26) signals resulted significant deviation of $N_{PEF}$ with relative errors>10%. The relationship between the relative error in $N_{PEF}$ and $S_r$ was found to be linear, based on which $N_{PEF}$ data were compensated. As a result, the 99% confidence interval of PEF error was turned out to be approximately 2.5%, which was less than a quarter of the upper limit of 10% recommended by ATS. Therefore, the present compensation technique was proved to be very accurate, complying the international standards of ATS, which would be useful to calibrate respiratory air flow transducers.
Purpose: In order to maximize the stability and productivity of the work through simulation prior to high-risk facilities and high-cost work such as dismantling the facilities inside the reactor, we intend to use digital twin technology that can be closely controlled by simulating the specifications of the actual control equipment. Motion control errors, which can be caused by the time gap between precision control equipment and simulation in applying digital twin technology, can cause hazards such as collisions between hazardous facilities and control equipment. In order to eliminate and control these situations, prior research is needed. Method: Unity 3D is currently the most popular engine used to develop simulations. However, there are control errors that can be caused by time correction within Unity 3D engines. The error is expected in many environments and may vary depending on the development environment, such as system specifications. To demonstrate this, we develop crash simulations using Unity 3D engines, which conduct collision experiments under various conditions, organize and analyze the resulting results, and derive tolerances for precision control equipment based on them. Result: In experiments with collision experiment simulation, the time correction in 1/1000 seconds of an engine internal function call results in a unit-hour distance error in the movement control of the collision objects and the distance error is proportional to the velocity of the collision. Conclusion: Remote decomposition simulators using digital twin technology are considered to require limitations of the speed of movement according to the required precision of the precision control devices in the hardware and software environment and manual control. In addition, the size of modeling data such as system development environment, hardware specifications and simulations imitated control equipment and facilities must also be taken into account, available and acceptable errors of operational control equipment and the speed required of work.
The cautious blasting works had been used with emulsion explosion electric M/S delay caps. We analysed seismic phases recorded by the 10 December 2002 Cheolwon, Korea, earthquake of $M_{L}$ 3.6 and obtained source parameters such as hypocenter, origin time, earthquake magnitude. Velocity and acceleration records used in this study are from the KMA and KIGAM seismic networks. Due to the location of the epicenter in the north of the DMZ(Demilitarized Zone), direct Pg phases were recorded only at five stations in the area south of DMZ. Identification of refracted Pn phase as the first arrival is difficult in most stations. Therefore, the hypocenter determined by existing routine methods could be affected by a large error. In order to avoid the possibility of the problem, we employed a method of seismic phase analysis developed by Kim et al.. The direct, refracted, and reflected P and S phases were successfully identified using the method together with the travel time curve data. In order to improve the accuracy in determination of the hypocenter and origin time, we included PmP and SmS phases in the analysis in addition to the phases such as Pg, Pn, Sg and Sn. The epicenter, depth, and origin time of the Cheolwon earthquake determined based on data of 11 stations within 200km from the epicenter are $38.81^{\circ}$N, $127.22^{\circ}$E, 12.0km, and 7:42:51.4(local time), respectively. The average value of the local magnitude based on the Richter's definition from all the stations is 3.6 in $M_{L}$. This magnitude is smaller by 0.2 and 0.5 compared with magnitudes determined by KMA and KIGAM, respectively.
Input variable selection is one of the various techniques for improving the performance of artificial neural network. In this study, mutual information is applied for input variable selection technique instead of correlation coefficient that is widely used. Among 152 variables of RDAPS (Regional Data Assimilation and Prediction System) output results, input variables for artificial neural network are chosen by computing mutual information between rainfall records and RDAPS' variables. At first the rainfall forecast variable of RDAPS result, namely APCP, is included as input variable and the other input variables are selected according to the rank of mutual information and correlation coefficient. The input variables using mutual information are usually those variables about wind velocity such as D300, U925, etc. Several statistical error estimates show that the result from mutual information is generally more accurate than those from the previous research and correlation coefficient. In addition, the artificial neural network using input variables computed by mutual information can effectively reduce the relative errors corresponding to the high rainfall events.

Most studies using drone is confined utilization on the ground and regulation. The drone in the water is rarely used in hydrographic surveying because of the limit of flight time and image matching. This paper is the basic research for drone hydrographic photogrammetry. The accuracy of hydrographic photogrammetry, using buoys for water reference point, was evaluated. The accuracy is influenced by the accuracy of the water reference points like the photogrammetry. The position of water reference points set up on water, keep on changing due to various environmental factors such as wind speed and water velocity. The position continuously changed of the water reference points were measured 3 times using Total Station and VRS. Experiments were conducted at two reservoirs in Gimhae City, and the accuracy of the manual image matching using the water reference points is 40 cm and 80 cm. Allowable accuracy of the ocean boundary survey is ${\pm}2m$, the results of this study are fully available. The maximum position error of the water reference point for ensuring accuracy within ${\pm}2m$ is 1.8 m.

Because heat exchanger consists of many circular tubes, the analysis of local heat transfer and pressure drop at the surrounding of circular tubes, performance and calculation of size, economics play important roles in design. In this study, This study conducted experiment and analysis in order to observe convective heat transfer coefficient LMTD (logarithm mean temperature difference) and pressure losses according to water temperature and air flow rate using a cross flow heat exchanger of staggered arrangement. This heat exchanger was composed of staggered arrangement for five rows and seven columns of tube banks, and the condition of experiment and analysis are $40{\sim}65^{\circ}C$ of water temperature and $5.0{\sim}12.3m^3/s$ of air flow rate. As a result of it, since air density decreases as water temperature and flow rate increases, Reynolds number decreases with characteristics of low flow velocity but mean heat transfer coefficient increases with air flow rate increase, heat transfer performance has been improved and pressure losses decreased. And since heat transfer rate shows about 8~12% and pressure drop around 0.01~7.5% error as the analysis result, the feasibility of this study could be evaluated.

In this paper, we developed a 3D printing system using a photo-curing resin in order to reduce the surface roughness of a sculpture produced with the 3D printer. Using the pattern of the resulting variable thickness, that gave rise to a stepped shape, and the area error of the photo-curable sculpture, a study was carried out for the process to reduce the surface roughness. At a given value of stage velocity (40~70 mm/s) and output air pneumatic pressure (20~60 kPa), the minimum pattern thickness of the pattern was achieved $65{\mu}m$ and the maximum pattern thickness of up to $175{\mu}m$. To increases the pattern resolution to about $40{\mu}m$, the process conditions should be optimized. 3D surface Nano profiler was used to find the surface roughness of the sculpture that was measured to be minimum $4.7{\mu}m$ and maximum $8.7{\mu}m$. The maximum surface roughness was reduced about $1.2{\mu}m$ for the maximum thickness of the pattern. In addition, a FDM was used to fabricate the same sculpture and its surface roughness measurements were also taken for comparison with the one fabricated using photo-curing. Same process conditions were used for both fabrication setups in order to perform the comparison efficiently. The surface roughness of the photo-curable sculpture is $5.5{\mu}m$ lower than the sculpture fabricated using FDM. A certain circuit patterns was formed on the laminated surface of the photo-curable sculpture while there was no stable pattern on the laminated surface of the FDM based sculpture the other hand.
