  • This paper considers the trajectory and impact point dispersion analysis of the test launch vehicle (TLV). The analysis, which performed before and after its flight test on November 28, 2018, is described and verified by comparing with the flight test results. The six degree-offreedom (DOF) simulation is used to compute the dispersion of the trajectory, attitude, and impact point, where the launch vehicle performance variations and wind effects during the atmospheric phase are included. The impact area to guarantee the flight safety is determined using the results of the dispersion analysis. The flight test results confirm that the safe flight of TLV is performed within the predicted dispersion boundary.

  • Purpose: This study is to develop a method for measuring dynamic speeding risks using vehicle trajectory big data and to demonstrate the feasibility of the devised speeding index. Method: The speed behaviors of vehicles were analysed in microscopic space and time using individual vehicle trajectories, and then the boundary condition of speeding (i.e., boundary speed) was determined from the standpoint of crash risk. A novel index for measuring the risk exposure of speeding was developed in microscopic space and time with the boundary speed. Result: A validation study was conducted with vehicle-GPS trajectory big data and ground-truth vehicle crash data. As a result of the analysis, it turned out that the index of speeding-risk exposure has a strong explanatory power (R2=0.7) for motorway traffic accidents. This directly indicates that speeding behaviors should be analysed at a microscopic spatiotemporal dimension. Conclusion: The spatial and temporal evolution of vehicle velocity is very variable. It is, hence, expected that the method presented in this study could be efficaciously employed to analyse the causal factors of traffic accidents and the crash risk exposure in microscopic space using mobility trajectory data.

  • Compared with vehicle trajectories, pedestrian trajectories have stronger degrees of freedom and complexity, which poses a higher challenge to trajectory prediction tasks. This paper designs a mode to divide the trajectory of pedestrians at a traffic intersection, which converts the trajectory regression problem into a trajectory classification problem. This paper builds a deep model for pedestrian trajectory prediction at intersections for the task of pedestrian short-term trajectory prediction. The model calculates the spatial correlation and temporal dependence of the trajectory. More importantly, it captures the interactive features among pedestrians through the Attention mechanism. In order to improve the training speed, the model is composed of pure convolutional networks. This design overcomes the single-step calculation mode of the traditional recurrent neural network. The experiment uses Vulnerable Road Users trajectory dataset for related modeling and evaluation work. Compared with the existing models of pedestrian trajectory prediction, the model proposed in this paper has advantages in terms of evaluation indicators, training speed and the number of model parameters.

  • In unmanned vehicles' navigation, the shapes of obstacles are generally irregular and complex. The motion of vehicles based on the range sensor system such as ultrasonic sensors or laser sensors can be unstable due to the irregular shape of the obstacles. In this case, to generate stable trajectory of unmanned vehicles equipped with range sensors, we need an approach that can simplify an obstacle's irregular shape information. In this paper, we propose the trajectory generation algorithm that an vehicle can stably navigate in the environments where irregular shaped obstacles are scattered. The proposed method is verified through the analysis of vehicle's trail and direction data acquired by simulations and implementations.

  • This paper shows an effective scanning trajectory for a mine detection device that is one of the mission equipments of unmanned ground vehicle. The mine detection device is composed of a mine-detection sensor, and a 4 DOF manipulator enabling sensor position control. There are three modes that manage the mine detection device: passive, semi-automatic, and automatic. The automatic mode is used the most. This paper suggests a scanning method that makes shape of 8. This method prevents missing target area and enhances scanning speed when the mine detection device scans the ground surface in automatic mode. The suggested method is verified by simulations and experiments.

  • This paper presents a local trajectory generation method which is based on a sequence of reference posture-velocities and the efficient low level control algorithm which constructs the complete smooth curve from the trajectory specification. The reference trajectory generator(RTG) which is in between the local path planner(LPP) and the robot motion controller(RMC) generates a sequence of set-points for each path segments from the LPP and pass it to the RMC. The RMC controls the motions of vehicle which should follow the sequence. In the feedback controller of VMC, the method which compensates robot posture-velocity error correctly is used. These methods are implemented on indoor autonomous vehicle, 'ALIVE' mobile robot. The ALIVE mobile robot system is implemented on the 32bit VME bus system: the two VME CPU's are used for RTG and RMC, while the 80C196KC-based VME board is used for motor controller.

  • In this paper, we propose a method of generating pitch commands for consistent initial trajectories irrelevant to flight conditions in the initial boosting phase of a thrust-vector-controlled vehicle. After shape assumption of the pitch command profile, parameters of the profile are determined in real time in order for the summit height of the trajectory to be a desired value by deriving the summit height considering thrust performance, gravity, and other flight conditions. Computer simulation results demonstrate good performance of the proposed method.

  • Digital road map generation is primarily based on artificial satellite photographing or in-site manual survey work. Therefore, these map generation procedures require a lot of time and a large budget to create and update road maps. Consequently, people have tried to develop automated map generation systems using GPS trajectory data sets obtained by public vehicles. A fundamental problem in this road generation procedure involves the extraction of representative trajectory such as main roads. Extracting a representative trajectory requires the base data set of piecewise line segments(GPS-trajectories), which have close starting and ending points. So, geometrically similar trajectories are selected for clustering before extracting one representative trajectory from among them. This paper proposes a new divide- and-conquer approach by partitioning the whole map region into regular grid sub-spaces. We then try to find similar trajectories by sweeping. Also, we applied the $Fr{\acute{e}}chet$ distance measure to compute the similarity between a pair of trajectories. We conducted experiments using a set of real GPS data with more than 500 vehicle trajectories obtained from Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The experiment shows that our grid partitioning approach is fast and stable and can be used in real applications for vehicle trajectory clustering.

  • The type of pedestrian accident can be characterized by vehicular frontal shape and the height of pedestrian. The trajectory of pedestrian after collision by passenger car is different from that by bus due to vehicular frontal shape. The frontal shape of SUV vehicles is dissimilar to passenger car and bus. So, the trajectory and throw distance of pedestrian by SUV vehicles is not the same of passenger car and bus. In this paper, a series of pedestrian kinetic simulation were conducted to inspect the difference in throw distance between SUV vehicle and passenger car and bus by PC-CRASH that is the program for kinetic analysis of articulated body. From the results, if the height of pedestrian is taller than 1.70m, there is no difference in throw distance between SUV vehicle and passenger car, but if the height of pedestrian is about 1.55m throw distance of SUV vehicle is about 4m longer than that of passenger car at each impact speed. The throw distance of pedestrian by Bus is shorter than that of passenger car and SUV at each impact speed.
