The motion of propeller driven airplanes, flying at constant speed on ascending or descending helical trajectories is analyzed. The dynamical abilities of the airplane are shown to result in restrictions on the ranges of the geometrical parameters of the helical path. The physical quantities taken into account are the variation of air density with altitude, the airplane mass change due to fuel consumption, its load factor, its lift coefficient, and the thrust its engine can produce. Formulas are provided for determining all the airplane dynamical parameters on the trajectory. A procedure is proposed for the construction of tables from which the flyability of trajectories at a given angle of inclination and radius can be read, with the corresponding minimum and maximum speeds allowed, the final altitude reached and the amount of fuel burned. Sample calculations are shown for the Cessna 182, a Silver Fox like unmanned aerial vehicle, and the C-130 Hercules.

This paper deals with auto-landing guidance system design applicable to Smart UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). The proposed guidance law generates horizontal position, velocity and altitude commands in the longitudinal channel and heading angle command in the lateral channel to track a predetermined trajectory for automatic landing. The longitudinal guidance commands are derived from an approximated dynamic equations in vertical plane. These longitudinal guidance commands are appropriately distributed to each control input as the flight mode of Smart UAV is changed. The concept of VOR(VHF Omni-directional Range) guidance system is applied to generate the required heading angle commands to eliminate the lateral deviation from the desired trajectory. The performance of the proposed guidance system for Smart UAV is evaluated using the nonlinear simulation. Simulation results show that the proposed guidance system for auto- landing provides good tracking performance along the predetermined landing trajectory.
In this study, we have developed the simulation tool in order to investigate driving trajectory of AGV for container transport. AGV for container transport is different from the indoor AGV in that it is a large size structure at being loaded the weight of 40 ton. And AGV for container transport is applied to front wheel steering, rear wheel steering, all wheel steering, and crap steering. Therefore, we have developed the simulation tool considering dynamic problems and center of turning in accordance with four way of steering modes. Throughout some computer simulations, we have confirmed that this tool is useful to analysis dynamic problems and to calculate minimum radius of turning for large size vehicles.

This paper investigates the dq current trajectory for maximum torque per ampere(MTPA) operation of an interior PM synchronous motor for HEV(Hybrid Electric Vehicle). Based on the dq current trajectory for the MTPA operation derived from the motor parameters, the change of the MTPA operating point for the variation of the motor parameters including the magnet flux and the dq inductances is considered. The dq current trajectory for MTPA operation is verified through the experiment.

This study proposes a methodology for estimating representative section travel times using individual vehicle travel information under the ubiquitous transportation environment (UTE). A novel approach is to substantialize a concept of dynamic node-links in processing trajectory data. Also, grouping vehicles was conducted to obtain more reliable travel times representing characteristics of individual vehicle travels. Since the UTE allows us to obtain higher accuracy of vehicle positions, travel times for each lane can be estimated based on the proposed methodology. Evaluation results show that less than 10% of mean absolute percentage error was achievable with 20% of probe vehicle rate. It is expected that outcome of this study is useful for providing more accurate and reliable traffic information services.

This study examined the final stop position and posture of both vehicles, the damaged part of the vehicle, the road surface, the specifications of the vehicle, and the angle of impact, centering on the case of a collision in which no surface trace was found. As a result of the simulation, the impact velocity of an SM5 and Lexus was 131 km/h and 74 km/h, respectively, and the impact angle of the SM5 and Lexus was 0.91° and -161.07°, respectively. The cause of the accident was that the SM5 passed through the intersection exceeding the maximum speed limit of 61 km/h and entered the Lexus' left turn lane. Lexus collided during the evacuation to avoid the collision. The collision trajectory error rate of the simulation was approximately 1.4%. Of the subjective experience of accident investigators, the collision dynamics and vehicle engineering aspects and simulations were actively utilized to provide close-to-fact cause identification.

A vehicle driving simulator is a virtual reality device which a human being feels as if the one drives a vehicle actually. The driving simulator is used effectively for studying interaction of a driver-vehicle and developing vehicle system of a new concept. The driving simulator consists of a vehicle motion bed system, motion controller, visual and audio system, vehicle dynamic analysis system, cockpit system, and etc. In it is paper, the main procedures to develop the driving simulator are classified by five parts. First, a motion bed system and a motion controller, which can track a reference trajectory, are developed. Secondly, a performance evaluation of the motion bed system for the driving simulator is carried out using LVDTs and accelerometers. Thirdly, a washout algorithm to realize a motion of an actual vehicle in the driving simulator is developed. The algorithm changes the motion space of a vehicle into the workspace of the driving simulator. Fourthly, a visual and audio system for feeling higher realization is developed. Finally, an integration system to communicate and monitor between sub systems is developed.
Adaptive neural networks based lateral controller is presented to guarantee path following performance for vehicle lane keeping in the presence of parameter time-varying characteristics of the vehicle lateral dynamics due to the road surface condition, load distribution, tire pressure and so on. The proposed adaptive controller could compensate vehicle lateral dynamics deviated from nominal dynamics resulting from parameter variations by incorporating it with neural networks that have the ability to approximate any given nonlinear function by adjusting weighting matrices. The controller is derived by using Lyapunov-based approach, which provides adaptive update rules for weighting matrices of neural networks. To show the superiority of the presented adaptive neural networks controller, the simulation results are given while comparing with backstepping controller chosen as the baseline controller. According to the simulation results, it is shown that the proposed controller can effectively keep the vehicle tracking the pre-given trajectory in high velocity and curvature with much accuracy under parameter variations.

The MPC (Model Predictive Control) is one of the techniques that can be used to control an unmanned vehicle. It predicts the future vehicle trajectory using the dynamic characteristic of the vehicle and generate the control value to track the reference path. If some obstacles are detected on the reference paths, the MPC can generate control value to avoid the obstacles imposing the inequality constraints on the MPC cost function. In this paper, we propose an obstacle modeling algorithm for MPC with inequality constraints for obstacle avoidance and a method to set selective constraint on the MPC for stable obstacle avoidance. Simulations with the field test data show successful obstacle avoidance and way point tracking performance.
This paper described on the motion of hybrid tractor trajectory for powertrain system. The dynamics behavior used to the tractor according to the characteristics of the road surface using $Daful^@$ analysis. The tractor industry is facing to a big problem about rising gas price and exhaust gas environment. Because it was possible overcoming the past drawback, hybrid vehicle had been decided as the best technical way since it has started operating the internal combustion engine with the electric power as the motive power. The vehicle structures have designed the model of a major power transmission factor. The simulation realized in this paper that motion of tractor being turned by torque and force of each joints. Driving characteristics, especially in recent years, IVHS (Intelligent Vehicle Tractor / System) technology, while receiving a lot of attention because of the tractor and the need to pursue high function is emerging as a more and more.
