In this study, we investigated current vegetation and assessed the health of vegetation through the KERVI (Korea Estuary Riparian Vegetation Index) to monitor vegetation changes near estuaries due to the opening of the Nakdong River estuary. As the first investigation of the long-term monitoring, six areas near the Nakdong River estuary were surveyed twice in July and October 2021, and vegetation monitoring and a survey of species composition and distribution density of aquatic, riparian, and land plants were carried out. The survey identified 262 taxa, 82 families, 192 genera, 196 species, 3 subspecies, 26 varieties, and 1 form of vascular plants in the surveyed area. The results of the vegetation health assessment through KREVI showed that sites 1 and 6 were rated "Very good" in both surveys, sites 2 and 4 were rated "Very good" in the first survey and then "Good"in the second survey, and site 3 and 5 were rated one grade higher in the second survey than the first survey. The assessment showed that the health grades of most species in the survey area were generally high. Most of the potential natural vegetation after the opening of estuary gates to create a brackish water area is expected to consist of reed (Phragmites communisTrin.) communities. The area of the willow (Salix koreensisAndersson) community adjacent to the water area may be somewhat narrower, but the community will be maintained. In the case of freshwater areas in inland areas with very low salinity, reeds (Phragmites communisTrin.) are expected to occupy most of them, and some communities such as amur silver-grass (Miscanthus sacchariflorusBenth.) and cattails (Typha orientalisC. Presl) are expected to be distributed. We suggest establishing measures such as estuary gate operation to create healthy brackish water regions through long-term monitoring.

Populations of plant-parasitic nematodes were evaluated in soil and root samples from areas planted with passion fruit, or covered with adjacent native cerrado vegetation, in five different cropping regions of the Brazilian Federal District. From July 2007 to January 2008, twenty samples had been collected in five Rural Centers (N$\acute{u}$cleo Rural-NR) planted with passion fruit. In five sites, samples were also collected in native cerrado vegetation. Specimens of nine genera of plant-parasitic nematodes (Meloidogyne, Helicotylenchus, Rotylenchulus, Scutellonema, Pratylenchus, Paratylenchus, Hemicycliophora, Xiphinema and Criconemoides) were found in the present survey. Important nematode pathogens, such as Rotylenchulus reniformis and Meloidogyne spp. were observed in the passion fruit plantations throughout five major producing regions of the Brazilian Federal District.

A phytosociological vegetation survey was conducted in July to September 2011 in order to examine the vegetation community structure in Mt. Ohseo area. It was aimed to provide basic data for the effective vegetation conservation by analyzing the importance, species diversity and community similarity of the forest community in Mt. Ohseo for each layer, followed by the classification of the actual forest vegetation. According to the cluster analysis, the community type of Mt. Ohseo was classified into a total of 4 vegetation communities: Pinus densiflora community, Cornus controversa-Quercus serrata community, Miscanthus sinensis community, and Quercus mongolica community; the vegetation type 4 showed the lowest species diversity index of 0.5236, and vegetation type-2 showed the highest species diversity index of 0.6606. The community similarity between Quercus mongolica community and Pinus densiflora community showed the highest 0.679, and the community similarity between Quercus serrata community and Pinus densiflora community and between Quercus serrata community and Quercus mongolica community showed the levels of 0.5, respectively.
The purpose of this study is to investigate a vegetation structure around Tongdosa temple forest and provincial park and to provide preliminary data. In order to look over the vegetation status, an actual vegetation map was drawn around study area. Vegetation structure survey was carried out for 6 representative communities of actual vegetation which were Quercus variavilis community, Carpinus tschonoskii community, Pinus densiflora community, P. densiflora-Broadleaf deciduous Forest community, Q. mongolica community and Broadleaf deciduous Forest community. The area of the Tongdosa district measured $29,202,262m^2$. Actual vegetation type were divided into 35 types, and the ratio of Q. variavilis community was 32.35 % ($9,447,932m^2$). To investigate the structure of 6 representative communities, 58 plots were set up and unit area plots measured $100m^2$. The estimated age of the forest is 50~100-years-old and the oldest tree P. densiflora is 113-years-old.

This study was conducted to investigate the plant community structure and to propose ecological management planning for the urban forest on Sungdongku, Joongku and Yongsanku in Seoul. Field survey was excuted October 1991 and the results were as follows. Robinia pseudoacasia community covered 61.1% and Populus x albaglandulosa covered 3.8% of survey site II and survey site was covered by the deciduous-broad leaf mixtured forest. According to the human impact and inappropriate management impact, survey area was divided into five forest community. As for the analysis of plant community structure which was classified into five forest community, the importance values, ecological diversity, number of species, number of individuals, basal area and crown coverage of the native plant community showed relatively higher than community that vegetation deterioration degree by the human impact showed seriously. In landscape forest of Mt. Daehyun, it showed problems for the planting method and the soil condition. So it was proposed to management guide, vegetation restoration and soil management through ecological management planning based on above results.

Changgyeonggung Palace, which was built in Seongjong Period in September 1484, is a tradition space that has been seen as a gateway to the Joseon Dynasty until it was demolished in 1907 at Changgyeongwon Garden. During the Japanese colonial rule, large greenhouses, museums, and botanical gardens were opened in Changgyeonggung Palace and traditional architecture and palace gardens were lost or changed. In 1984, the Changgyeonggung Palace maintenance plan was restored to the current status through the construction of the rebuild construction in 1986 to restore the traditional palaces. Since then, it has been maintained and managed in the shape of the mid-term plan of the 1980s for 30 years. The appearance of Changgyeonggung Palace(宮園) in the early 19th century shows the appearance of Changgyeonggung Palace in "Donggwoldo", and it is possible to confirm the prototype of the Joseon Dynasty through analysis of "Donggwoldo". The vegetation survey of Changgyeonggung Palace which started from 1984 was surveyed 4 times over 2005, 2010, and 2016, and the vegetation status of Changgyeonggung Palace could be confirmed based on the results of vegetation survey. By comparing and analyzing the results of the vegetation survey for 30 years and the analysis of the vegetation in Changgyeonggung Palace by the analysis of "Donggwoldo", we were able to confirm whether the vegetation status of Changgyeonggung Palace approached to the appearance of the Joseon Dynasty era.

Vegetation structure of Jangtaesan Natural Recreation Forest in Daejeon City was investigated to suggest a preferable management plan. Vegetation survey was carried out with thirty plots. Adopting phytosociological method, plant communities were classified into twinfolds of natural and afforested area. A natural forest were composed of Quercus mongolica, Quercus variabilis, and Pinus densiflora community. Afforested area were with Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Larix leptolepis, Pinus koraiensis, and Castanea crenata community. The importance value of Quercus mongolica, Quercus variabilis, Pinus densiflora, and Quercus serrata in natural forest were 59.69%, 48.32%, 39.10%, 21.53%, respectively. According to diameter of breast hieght analysis results, it is expected that the occupancy of Quercus mongolica, Pinus densiflora, and Quercus variabilis would be continuously increased. Based on the findings of the study, management plan for natural forest and afforested area was recommended in line with the progress of natural ecology.
$CO_2$ uptake of vegetation is one of the important variables in order to estimate photosynthetic activity, plant growth and carbon budget estimations. The objective of this research was to develop a new estimation method of $CO_2$ uptake of vegetation based on airborne hyperspectral remote sensing measurements in combination with a photosynthetic rate curve model. In this study, a compact airborne spectrographic imager (CASI) was used to obtain image over a field that had been set up to study the $CO_2$ uptake of corn on August 7, 2002. Also, a field survey was conducted concurrently with the CASI overpass. As a field survey, chlorophyll a content, photosynthetic rate curve, Leaf area, dry biomass and light condition were measured. The developed estimation method for $CO_2$ uptake consists of three major parts: a linear mixture model, an enhanced big leaf model and a photosynthetic rate curve model. The Accuracy of this scheme indicates that $CO_2$ uptake of vegetation could be estimated by using airborne hyperspectral remote sensing data in combination with a physiological model.

The purpose of this study is to understand the vegetation structure of the Corylopsis coreana habitats in South Korea and their correlation with environmental factors, in order to provide basic data for preparing conservation. A total of 40 vegetation survey plots were established in around Southern region, Gangwon-do and Gyeonggi-do Province. The cluster analysis revealed four distinct clusters: Quercus mongolica-Pinus densiflora (QmPd), Castanea crenata (Cc), Quercus mongolica (Qm), and Pinus koraiensis (Pk). Among them, the QmPd cluster was selected as the representative community. Soil texture analysis that most areas consisted of loamy soil and were distributed on the northern aspects. The plantation, represented by Pk, exhibited a high content of exchangeable aluminum (5.227±0.342 mg/kg), suggesting the need for soil improvement and monitoring in these habitats. The canopy openness (forest gap) ranged from 11% to 21%, indicating a relatively closed canopy in many survey plots. Non-metric multidimensional scaling analysis indicated heterogeneous species composition between the QmPd cluster and the Pk cluster (total R2 = 0.608).
A survey was conducted on the vegetation of Seogmo island, which is small island (ca. 41 okm2) located about 1km west of Kanghwa island in the central Korea, from Aug. 1983 to May 1984. Based on the field data, actual vegetation map and potential natural vegetation map were made. The island is covered with broad-leaved trees dominated with Quercus variabilis. The dominance diversity curves obtaiend in different associations are grouped in two types, lognormal distribution forms at the undisturbed vegetation and geometric series at the disturbed or rocky sites. It seems that the curves show to us the nature of their ecocline by the hypothesis of some investigators, i.e. Random niche boundary hypothesis, niche preemption hypothesis, lognormal distribution and logarithmic series. Total numbers of vascular plant species of the island were recorded 108 families, 348 genera, 475 species, 73 variaties and 7 forma. And Pte.-Q Index, 0.93, and Fisher's Index, 589.8, were higher than those in neighboring islands.
