  • In this research an induction motor vector control system was developed using Simulink and RTW(Real Time Workshop). On the Simulink window, control system is designed in the form of block diagrams, program codes are produced automatically with the RTW, then c compiler compiles the program codes. With this automatic real time program producing mechanism rapid prototyping is realized without the time-consuming manual program coding procedures.   • This paper presents a servo control scheme for the surface-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor(SPMSM) which essentially uses vector control algorithm. The control system is composed of the PI controller for speed control and the current controller using space voltage vector PWM technique. The high-speed calculation and processing for vector control is carried out by TMS320C31 digital signal processor and IGBT module. The proposed scheme is verified through digital simulations and experiments for 2.2kW SPMSM and shows good dynamic performance.

  • The adaptation to vector control theory is so generalized that it is widely used for implementing the high-performance of AC machine. Nowadays, One-Chip microprocessors or DSP chips are being well-used to implement Vector Control algorithm. DSP Chip have less flexibility for memory decoding and I/O rather than One-Chip microprocessor so that is requires more additional circuit and high cost. And the past One-Chip micro processors have difficult of implementation the complex algorithm because of small memory capacity and low arithmetic performance. Therefore we implemented the vector control algorithm of PMSM(Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Motors) using 80296SA form intel , which have many features as 6M memory space, 500MHz clock frequency, including memory decoding circuit and general I/O, Special I/O(EPA, Interrupt controller, Timer/Count, PWM generator) which is proper controller for the complex algorithm or operation program requiring so much memory capacity, So in this paper we fully digitized the vector control of PMSM included SVPWM Voltage controller using the intel 80296SA

  • This paper is concerning a vector control of wound-rotor induction motor from the secondary side. When the wound-rotor induction motor is vector controlled from the secondary side, it has the possibility that the vector control can be accurately done because the disturbance input, that is, primary voltage and all state variables, that is, primary currents and secondary currents can be detected. We consider it is deserve research that the vector control of wound-rotor induction motor from the secondary side, because there is the merit that we can reduce the inverter capacity to on the order of half of the motor capacity when we choose twice of the synchronous speed to the rated speed, though there is the problem of the brush maintenance.   • In this paper, the system equation for the balanced two-phase induction motor is derived and the characteristics for speed control is also analyzed in the region of constant torque and constant power. The modified vector control theory is applied to two-phase motor drive system. The speed of two-phase motor drive can be controlled precisely by the modified indirect vector control theory. The modified vector control theory is simpler comparing to the conventional vector control because of the simpler axis transformation. The computer simulations and the experimental results presented to confirm the vector control for two-phase inverter fed two phase induction motor system.

  • In this paper, we investigate the control methodology of inverter Airconditioner, using the three dimensional vector scheme. The method of three dimensional vector aims at the determination of optimal switching patterns for PWM to reduce switching loss and to improve the performance supplied voltage. The induction motors are widely used for home Airconditioners. These motors can be classified into two types: on or off control of Airconditioner and the speed control of motor. For speed control of motors, generally PWM methods are used. The PWM method based upon the modulation of triangular wave can not afford to supply line voltage to the motor sufficiently because of the capacity of processing speed of micro processors. Therefore airconditioner can not be operated efficiently. This problem can be solved with the method of three dimensional vector since it can increase the supplied voltage and maximum operating frequency of motor to 173V and 96Hz, respectively. As the result, this method shows 10 - 15% increase of voltage and 10% increase of operating frequency over the modulation of triangular wave. According to a theoretical study, the number of switching in the method of three dimensional vector is smaller than that of the modulation of triangular wave. The power consumption can be reduced and the supplied voltage can be increased. In other words, the efficiency of Airconditioner can be improved. We show that the method of three dimensional vector can supply higher voltage than the modulation of triangular method through the experiments and verify the degree of improvement of efficiency theoretically.

A Novel Modulation Method for Three-Level Inverter Neutral Point Potential Oscillation Elimination

  • A novel algorithm is proposed to regulate the neutral point potential in neutral point clamped three-level inverters. Oscillations of the neutral point potential and an unbalanced dc-link voltage cause distortions of the output voltage. Large capacitors, which make the application costly and bulky, are needed to eliminate oscillations. Thus, the algorithm proposed in this paper utilizes the finite-control-set model predictive control and the multistage medium vector to solve these issues. The proposed strategy consists of a two-step prediction and a cost function to evaluate the selected multistage medium vector. Unlike the virtual vector method, the multistage medium vector is a mixture of the virtual vector and the original vector. In addition, its amplitude is variable. The neutral point current generated by it can be used to adjust the neutral point potential. When compared with the virtual vector method, the multistage medium vector contributes to decreasing the regulation time when the modulation index is high. The vectors are rearranged to cope with the variable switching frequency of the model predictive control. Simulation and experimental results verify the validity of the proposed strategy.

  • This paper presents a vector control implementation for SPMSM(Surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) using dSPACE 1104 system and MATLAB/SIMULINK. SPMSM can be treated as a DC motor provided that currents of flux and torque component are controlled independently using vector control. Therefore various control algorithms for conventional DC motor control can be adopted to SPMSM. The system is designed to improve set-point tracking capability, fast response, and accuracy. In This paper, d-q equivalent modeling of PMSM is derived based on vector control theory. The PI controller is used for speed control and state feedback PI current control method is used for current control. For the implementation of high performance vector control system, dSPACE 1104 system is used. Simulations and experiments were carried out to examine validity of the proposed vector control implementation.

  • In this paper, we show the vector control performances for the parallel-connected motor drive system using the indirect vector control and the proposed vector control. The suggested estimation scheme of the rotor flux position is presented to reduce the sensitivity due to the load difference between the motors. To confirm the validity of the proposed control method, we compare the simulation results of the proposed control method with those of the conventional indirect vector control method. The simulation results show that the proposed control method is more effective for a change in the load torque.

  • This paper present a current predicting control method for PMSM (permanent magnet synchronous motor) to improve the tracking performance of stator current, which regards the current vector as the control target. Solving the model state equation in the static frame (α-β frame), the dynamic change of current vector will be gained as three independent terms. These change terms, which contain the prediction of current vector, are discretized and simplified by Taylor series expansion and used to get the voltage vector as the predictive control quantity. SVPWM will transform the control voltage to the switching signal of inverter, which is newly deduced for the current vector. Simulation and experiment results are given to testy and verify the performance of this method.
