The study of subjects were 8 persons. The study measured VO2max of each person and substituted METs at exercise intensity of both VO2max 50% and VO2max 70% in accordance with energy consumption formula to set exercise time at energy consumption of both 300kcal and 600kcal. And, the study substituted inclination and rate at exercise intensity that was measured at preliminary test. T, B, NK cell varied depending upon aerobic exercise to have no significant difference of exercise intensity at relative ratio of T, B, NK lymphocyte of all of lymphocytes and to have significant difference of Expenditures Calorie (p<.01) and interaction (p<.05) by T cell and Expenditures Calorie (p<.01) by B cell and Expenditures Calorie (p<.001) and interaction (p<.05) by NK cell.
Objectives: Eyeblinking varied depending on individual cognitive abilities or personality traits thought to related to brain mechanisms of sensory modulation. This study explored whether personality traits are related to the rate of eye blinks and how eyeblink and evoked potential augumenting-reducing(EPAR) interact Methods: Forty four students were studied with EPAR topography to explore how eyeblinks, personality and EPAR interact The Zuckerman Sensation Seeking Scale(SSS) and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ) were used as personality measured by a stimulus response program during EP study. Results: Rate of blink increased as intensity of light increased. The General(GEN), Thrill and Adventure Seeking(TAS), Experience Seeking(ES) and Disinhibition(DS) subscales in SSS and Extraversion-Introversion(E) subscale in EPQ showed significant negative correlations with number of eyeblinks in the hightest intensity of light, whereas Neuroticism(N) subscales in EPQ showed a positive correlation. Correlation between number of eyeblinks with the brightest light and EPAR slope varied topographically. The strongest positive correlation was noted in right posterior temporal area. Conclusion: High sensation seekers blinked significantly fewer times than lower sensation seeker did. Higher personality correlations with eyeblink than with EP may imply that the eyeblink works as a primary filter since it is more directly related to central mechanisms of sensory modulation than EP. The right posterior temporal area may play an important role in modulation of visual stimuli.
The effect of methanolic extract of cashewnut (Anacardium occidentale) shell extract was seen on conidial germination of Erysiphe pisi and powdery mildew development in pea (Pisum sativum). Maximum conidial germination inhibition of E. pisi on glass slides was observed at 300 ppm. Similar effect on floated pea leaves was observed after 48 h at the same concentration. Conidial germination on intact untreated pea leaves was also assessed on II and IV nodal leaves while IV and II nodal leaves were treated with the extract and vice versa. There was tremendous reduction in conidial germination on all the nodal leaves. The disease intensity of pea powdery mildew was significantly reduced by methanolic extract of cashewnut shells. Maximum reduction was observed with 200 ppm where 39% disease intensity was recorded in comparison to 96.53% in the control. The phenolic acid content of pea leaves following treatments with this extract varied and no defmite pattern was observed. Out of several phenolic compounds, namely, gallic, ferulic, chlorogenic, and cinnamic acids, only gallic acid was found to be present consistently in all the treatments with varied amounts.
Branching growth pattern of Mugnolza denuduta is likely to be originated from two growth strategies: environment overcoming strategy and life maintenance strategy, which coexist in a tree. Growth rate of branches was strongly correlated with relative light intensity (P<0.001) and physical contact (P<0.01), however there is no significant correlation between growth rate and direction of branch. When relative light intensity is less than 1%, the growth was restricted by physical contact with the surrounding branches. In contrast, the growth was rarely restricted by physical contact when relative light intensitiy was 10% or more. The branching rate was significantly affected by the presence or absence of physical contact (P<0.05), but it was not significantly affected by relative light intensity nor by the direction of branch. In the beginning stage of the growth, the ratio of the material allocation from main branch to subbranch was large and varied with the influence of surrounding environment. These various growth rates, which implicate a variety of material allocation ratios (0.16~0.98), affect branch growth pattern through the optimum growth strategies. The growth and arrangement of branches of Magnolia denudata display the solar collectors to maximize the total amount of energy absorbed and to overcome the restriction of the environment.
From July 2008 to June 2009, livers of the swamp eels (Monopterus alba) were investigated for advanced third-stage larvae (AL3) of Gnathostoma spinigerum. Results revealed that 10.2% (106/1,037) and 20.4% (78/383) of farmed eels from Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province and those of wild-caught eels obtained from a market in Min Buri District of Bangkok, Thailand were infected, respectively. The prevalence was high during the rainy and winter seasons. The infection rate abruptly decreased in the beginning of summer. The highest infection rate (13.7%) was observed in September and absence of infection (0%) in March-April in the farmed eels. Whereas, in the wild-caught eels, the highest rate (30.7%) was observed in November, and the rate decreased to the lowest at 6.3% in March. The average no. (mean${\pm}$SE) of AL3 per investigated liver in farmed eels ($1.1{\pm}0.2$) was significantly lower (P=0.040) than those in the caught eels ($0.2{\pm}0.03$). In addition, the intensity of AL3 recovered from each infected liver varied from 1 to 18 ($2.3{\pm}0.3$) in the farmed eels and from 1 to 47 ($6.3{\pm}1.2$) in the caught eels, respectively. The AL3 intensity showed significant difference (P=0.011) between these 2 different sources of eels. This is the first observation that farmed eels showed positive findings of G. spinigerum infective larvae. This may affect the standard farming of the culture farm and also present a risk of consuming undercooked eels from the wild-caught and farmed eels.
To clarify the light condition which influence phytoplankton ecology in Kyeonggi Bay, light intensity, compensation depth, extinction coefficient, transparency and suspended substances are studied from May 1981 to September 1982.Light intensities lie within adequate values for the phytoplankton growth from spring to autumn. However, in the winter season the light intensities show less than 4.8mw/$\textrm{cm}^2$ on the surface resulting lower than optimum irradiance. Light intensity could be a limiting factor for phytoplankton growth in winter. Compensation depths seasonally varied over an annual period in this study. Especially, in winter, compensation depths are confined to only 1-2m below the surface. Extinction coefficient(K) values are relatively high over an year cycle. K values is highest in winter and lowest in summer. Transparency shows seasonal variation. Tansparency is high in summer and low in winter. Thus low light intensity, low compensation depth, low transparency and high extinction coefficient in winter are due to the high turbidity and high concentrations of suspended substances. High concentrations of S.S. in winter result from the sediments and detritus resuspended by the winter turbulence induced by the strong winter winds and the convectional mixing. In summer, good light condition and low turbidity may result from the thermal stability of water mass preventing the resuspension of sediment particles.

The purpose of this study was to determine optimum wavelength, light intensity, aeration rate, and temperature for the cultivation of Dunaliella salina illuminated by various types of light emitting diode. Growth rates of Dunaliella salina were faster at higher temperature than the growth rate at lower temperature. Among the culturing temperatures, $22^{\circ}C$ was the optimum temperature for the growth of Dunaliella salina. White LED was the most efficient light source and lower light intensity (3,000 Lux) resulted in better biomass production (1.30 g/L). The value of aeration varied between 0 and 2.4 vvm at the illumination of 3,000 Lux of white light emitting diode. Highest specific growth rate of $1.12day^{-1}$ was obtained at no-aeration and lower specific growth rates were obtained for other aeration tests, which indicated that aeration could be harmful for the cultivation of Dunaliella salina.
Ultraviolet sterilizers (UVS) are widely used in restaurants, cafeterias and catering businesses in Korea. The proper application of UVS, however, is still questionable since no studies have clearly identified their efficacy and safety, while regulations and regulatory management systems are yet to be established. In the present study, the efficacy of UVS were investigated by measuring spatial UV intensity inside five commercially operated UVS. The operating safety parameters were also checked by measuring leaked UV intensity. The UV intensities were inversely proportional to distance from the UV lamp within 25 cm, and to the square of the distance exceeding 25 cm. The UV intensities in commercial UVS varied with the distance from UV lamp and the incident angle, highlighting efficacy and stability concerns. Notable leakage was detected through the door gaps of a studied UVS, which also brought about safety concerns. Allowable working distances for the UV leaking UVS were suggested based on international standards.
The incorporation of Shiitake culture into sawdust is a widely utilized technique that can assist in reducing the cost and time consumption associated with oak cultivation. In sawdust cultivation, browning of the surface mycelia is an important stage with respect to the utility and longevity of the sawdust media. Surface browning forms a protective coating on the substrate, which can inhibit the invasion of pathogens and suppress water evaporation. Several different light sources (red LED, white LED, blue LED, and fluorescent light) were used and the intensity of illumination was carefully controlled (1.5, 10.5, $20.5{\mu}mol/m^2s$ for LEDs and 10, 100, 300 lux for the fluorescent light) to induce browning. The light sources were regulated via a 1 h on/off cycle in a controlled room environment at a temperature of $20^{\circ}C$, 60% humidity, and 1200 ppm $CO_2$ concentration for 60days. The browning effect varied depending on the source and the intensity of illumination. This effect was most effectively induced at $1.5{\mu}mol/m^2s$ for the red and blue LEDs. All light sources induced less browning at the highest intensity of illumination. This indicates that intensity values higher than $20.5{\mu}mol/m^2s$ in the case of the LEDs and 300 lux for the fluorescent light are not effective. After harvesting of the fruit bodies, we measured the weight, length, and width of the pileus and stipe in addition to their chromaticity and hardness. Treatment with $1.5{\mu}mol/m^2s$ blue LED produced the best harvest with the highest average chromaticity, weight (21.2 g), stipe length (30.8 mm), and hardness (377.9 g), with a fine length and width of the pileus.
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of light intensity and temperature on the photosynthesis and respiration of ginseng plant. Highly significant, second degree curvilinear regressions were recognized among the photosynthesis of ginseng leaves, light intensity and temperature. And an interaction between the effects of light intensity and temperature on the photosynthesis of ginseng leaves was found to be highly significant. The increasing rate of photosynthesis with the increase of light intensity was markedly decreased with increasing temperature. The light compensation point of ginseng leaves was significantly varied with temperature, and the average point was approximately 600 lux. The light saturation point of Korean ginseng was 11,000 lux at $15^{\circ}C$ and $20^{\circ}C$ and around 9,500 lux at above $25^{\circ}C$. The decreasing rate of photosynthesis with the increase of temperature significantly increased with increasing light intensity. The optimum temperature for the photosynthesis of ginseng leaves was about 15 to $22^{\circ}C$ and markedly decreased with increasing light intensity. The highest photosynthesis occurred in ginseng leaves grown with the shade of 15% transmittance. The respiration of ginseng leaves increased with the shade of 5% and/or 30% transmittance. High temperature stimulated the respiration of ginseng leaves. Percent respiration to photosynthesis of ginseng leaves grown with the shade was increased at high temperature and decreased with increasing light Intensity. It was also increased with increasing transmittance. The maximum $CO_2$ absorption of ginseng leaves grown with the shade of 5Ps and ISVS transmittance accurred at 9 o'clock a.m., whereas that of 20% transmittance occurred at 7-9 o'clock a.m. The duration of $CO_2$ absorption was distinctively long with the shade of high transmittance. The $CO_2$ compensation point in the photosynthesis of ginseng leaves was 130 ppm.
