Vote validity proof and verification is an efficiency bottleneck and privacy drawback in homomorphic e-voting. The existing vote validity proof technique is inefficient and only achieves honest-verifier zero knowledge. In this paper, an efficient proof and verification technique is proposed to guarantee vote validity in homomorphic e-voting. The new proof technique is mainly based on hash function operations that only need a very small number of costly public key cryptographic operations. It can handle untrusted verifiers and achieve stronger zero knowledge privacy. As a result, the efficiency and privacy of homomorphic e-voting applications will be significantly improved.

The paper aims at presenting a systematic approach process and a method of requirement validation and system verification. Validation is applied during concept development to ensure conceptual validity, requirements validity, and design validity. Verification work is applied subsequent to the design work on test articles and early production items to produce evidence that the design solutions do, in fact, satisfy th requirements. In this paper, we present a requirements validation model and a system verification model. This models are applied to the development of TTX(Tilting Train Express)system with systems engineering tool, CORE.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a scale of free nursing home adjustment for the elderly in Korea. Method: The developmental processes were construction of a conceptual framework, development of preliminary items, verification of content validity, twice data gathering, verification of construct validity, and reliability of final items. The first 53 preliminary items were obtained through review of literatures about nursing home adjustment and in depth interviews with 5 staffs of nursing home. These items were reviewed by five specialists for content validity and 39 items were chosen. The first data was collected from 107 elderly residing in 3 nursing homes and the second survey was from 147 residents who were living in five nursing homes. Finally this data was analyzed for construct validity and reliability. Result: There were 23 final items which were sorted into 5 factors. The factors were identified as 'Relocation distress symptom'(8items), 'Making friends'(4items), 'Acceptance of new residence'(6items), 'Difficulty in group life'(3items), and 'Having self-worth'(2items). The cumulative percent of variance was 53.466%. The reliability of the scale, Cronbach's alpha was .837. Conclusion: The result of this study could be used for measuring nursing home adjustment of the elderly. However, for further validity and reliability, repeated researches are needed.

Objectives Nijmegen Questionnaire is one tool used internationally to evaluate hyperventilation syndrome. However, there is a necessity of developing Korean version of the Nijmegen Questionnaire, as the questionnaire of the original one are written in English, marking it hard to apply for Korean patients. So as a first step, we conducted a cross-cultural translation of the Nijmegen Questionnaire into Korean and verification of content validity. Methods We translated the Nijmegen Questionnaire into Korean up to guidelines of cross-cultural adaptation. We conducted a survey with 45 subjects to get content validity, using the translated questionnaire. Results About the translated Nijmegen Questionnaire, 28 out of 45 subjects replied that they had no difficulty understanding them, while 17 were pointed out ambiguous items and 7 offered ideas about ambiguous expressions of them. Upon further examination of five Korean Medical doctors, one sentence was additionally modified in the translated version. Conclusions We translated and adapted cross-culturally the original Nijmegen Questionnaire to develop a Korean version in accordance with internationally accepted guidelines. Then we conducted a survey for content validity with the translated questionnaire and gathered opinions from those questioned. After going through some examining and correcting procedures based on the opinions, we finalized the Korean version of Nijmegen Questionnaire. It will also require a follow-up verification process to prove reliability and validity of the final version of the Korean version of Nijmegen Questionnaire.

Background and Objectives: Cardiff Acne Disability Index(CADI) is one tool used internationally to measure the quality of life of acne sufferers. There, however, is a necessity of developing Korean version of CADI, as the questionnaires of the original one are written in English, making it hard to apply for Korean patients. So as a first step, we conducted a cross-cultural translation of CADI into Korean and verification of face validity. Methods: After properly translating CADI questionnaires into Korean up to guidelines for cross-cultural adaptation of health related quality-of-life measures, we conducted a survey with 122 undergraduates to get face validity, using the translated questionnaires. Results: About the translated CADI questionnaires, 86 out of 107 undergraduates replied that they had no difficulty understanding them, while 21 offered ideas about ambiguous expressions of them. Upon further examination of two oriental doctors, two sentences were additionally modified in the translated version. Conclusions: Firstly, we created the Korean version of CADI, one of the most effective methods in the world to measure acne sufferers' quality of life, by properly translated the original version into Korean. Then we conducted a survey for face validity with the translated questionnaires and gathered opinions from those questioned. After going through some examining and correcting procedures based on the opinions, we finalized the Korean version of CADI. It will also require a follow-up verification process to prove credibility and validity of the final version of Korean CADI.

This paper describes the development of a web-based interference verification system in the mold design process. Although several commercial CAD systems furnish interference verification functions, those systems are very expensive and inadequate to perform collaborative works over the Internet. In this paper, an efficient and precision hybrid interference verification algorithm for the web-based interference verification system over the distributed environment has been studied. The proposed system uses lightweight CAD files produced from the optimally transformed CAD data through ACIS kernel and InterOp. Collaborators related to the development of a new product are able to verify the interference verification over the Internet without commercial CAD systems. The system reduces production cost, errors and lead-time to the market. Validity of the developed system is confirmed through case studies.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop an uncertainty scale for infertile women. Methods: The process included construction of a conceptual framework, generation of 12items, verification of content validity, selection of secondary items, verification of construct validity and extraction of final items. In order to verify the reliability and validity of the preliminary instrument, data were collected from 50 infertile women in an In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) clinic. Data were analyzed by item analysis, Varimax factor analysis and Cronbach's alpha. Results: There were 10 items in the final instrument categorized into 2 factors labeled as "personal (6 items)" and "relational (4 items)" The total variance explained was 73.36%. The instrument was shown to have good reliability with a Cronbach's alpha of .899. Conclusion: Validity and reliability of the scale were confirmed in this study showing its utility to measure uncertainty for infertile women. The instrument can help understand sterility and accurately measure uncertainty for infertile women. The instrument can also be used to evaluate nursing interventions designed for mitigating uncertainty for infertile women.
Purpose: This study was conducted to develop an instrument measuring awareness of osteoporosis. Methods: The process included construction of a conceptual framework, generation of 86 preliminary items, verification of content validity, selection of secondary items, verification of construct validity and extraction of final items. The 86 items were reviewed for content validity by two groups of experts and were tested to evaluate inter item correlation coefficient by two groups of adult women. From June to August 2007, data were collected from 383 adult women who lived in Seoul and provinces in Korea. Data were analyzed by performing item analysis, Varimax factor analysis and Cronbach's alpha. Results: There were 31 items in the final instrument categorized into 5 factors. The factors were labeled as "preventive behaviors (10 items)", "risk factors (5 items)", "characteristics of osteoporosis (6 items)", "improving bone health (5 items)", and "bone physiology (5 items)". Cumulative percent of variance was 60.92% and eigen values ranged from 1.20 to 12.44. Cronbach's alpha was .948 and ranged from .804 to .917. Conclusion: Validity and reliability of the scale are confirmed in this study showing its utility for measuring awareness of osteoporosis for women. This study develops a valid and reliable scale to evaluate customer orientation for clothing salespeople in order to provide a foundation for systematic and empirical research in the apparel industry. The study was conducted in two phases. First, a scale was developed to evaluate the customer orientation of clothing salespeople through a qualitative method. The second phase involved the verification of the validity of the developed evaluation questions through a quantitative method. The subjects of this study were 327 clothing salespeople, and the results were analyzed using AMOS 7.0 and SPSS 15.0. The results were as follows: First, customer orientation questions were elicited from in-depth interviews with fashion sales-people, analyses of fashion magazine articles, and previous studies. From the results, 38 preliminary questions were selected based on categorization, modification, and expert analyses of the content validity. Second, in order to verify the validity of the customer orientation scale that consisted of 24 questions in 7 factors, we performed a verification of the convergent validity through an assessment of the magnitude of standardization factor loading, average variance extracted (AVE), and construct reliability. Discriminant validity was verified using the AVE of each of the two constructs and a comparison of the square of the correlation between the constructs. According to the results, the measured values were above or near the guideline values that demonstrates the validity of the customer orientation scale.

For implementation of the strut-tie model approach to the practical analysis and design of structural concrete, the effective strengths of concrete struts in a strut-tie model, which have a crucial effect on the determination of strut and tie forces and the validity verification of strut-tie model's geometric compatibility condition, have to be determined accurately. In this study, the validity of the methods for determining the effective strengths of concrete struts was evaluated by conducting the strut-tie model analyses of the three reinforced concrete deep beams tested to failure with the effective strengths of concrete struts obtained from the suggested determination methods.
