조피볼락 육성용 사료의 어분 대체원으로서 식물성 및 동물성 단백질 혼합 첨가 효과 (Substitution of Plant and Animal Proteins for Fish Meal in the Growing Korean Rockfish (Sebastes schlegeli) Feeds)

  • 여러 종류의 단백질 원료를 혼합하여 성장이 좋고, 가격이 싼 경제적인 조피볼락용 배합사료를 개발하기 위해 실험사료의 효과를 사육실험과 사료 및 어체의 성분 분석을 통해 조사하였다. 북양어분 사료를 대조구 (사료 1)로 하고 사료 원료의 아미노산 조성을 고려하면서 대두박, 콘글루텐 밀, 육분, 혈분, 우모분, 소맥분을 서로 다른 비율로 첨가한 9종류의 실험사료를 설계하여 제조하였다. 사료 2에서 5까지는 조피볼락 전어체의 아미노산 조성, 타 어종을 대상으로 연구된 아미노산 요구량 등을 참고로 아미노산 균형을 고려하여 설계하였다. 사료 6은 복합 효소제의 효과를 알아보기 위하여 사료 5의 조성에서 복합 효소제를 첨가하지 않았고, 사료 7은 합성 아미노산 첨가 효과를 검토하기 위해 사료 5의 조성에서 아미노산을 첨가하지 않았다. 그리고 사료 8과 9는 열처리한 대두박과 옥수수를 첨가하여 그 효과를 비교하였다. 114g 전후의 조피볼락을 사료당 2반복으로 15주간 사육실험한 결과, 증체율과 사료효율에 서 사료 $2\~7$구가 대조구와 유의차없이 (P>0.05) 좋은 것으로 나타났으며, 사료 5의 조성에서 합성 아미노산이나 복합효소제를 첨가하지 않아도 성장차이는 없었다. 어체 1kg 생산하는데 소요되는 사료단가를 계산하여 본 결과, 대조사료는 853원이었고, 사료 2와 7이 $732\~746$원으로 낮았으며, 사료 8과 9가 $875\~905$원으로 높았다. 위의 결과로부터 어체크기가 100g 이상일 경우의 사료에 대두박, 콘글루텐 밀, 육분, 혈분, 우모분, 소맥분을 적절히 첨가하면 북양어분을 $50\%$ 정도까지 대체 가능할 것으로 판단되어 육성용 사료의 단가를 낮출 수 있을 것이다.

Effects of L-Carnitine on the Nutritive Value of Extruded Full-Fat Soybean in Weaned Pigs

  • A total of 80 piglets ($5.85{\pm}0.62kg$ BW; 21 d of age) were used to study the effect of carnitine addition to extruded full-fat soybean (EFS) diets on the growth of weaned pigs. Pigs were allotted into five treatments based on body weight, in a completely randomized block design. Each treatment has 4 replicates of 4 heads each. Treatments were 1) SBM (positive control), 2) EFS without carnitine (negative control), 3) EFS with 50 ppm carnitine, 4) EFS with 100 ppm carnitine and 5) EFS with 150 ppm carnitine. During d 0 to 14, piglets were fed diets containing 3,400 kcal ME, 23% crude protein, 1.65% lysine, 0.9% Ca and 0.8% P and for the period of d 15 to 28, piglets were fed diets supplying 3,300 kcal ME, 20% crude protein, 1.55% lysine, 0.9% Ca and 0.8% P. The urease activity of EFS (0.18) were three times higher than SBM (0.07). During d 0-14, pigs fed SBM had greater ADG and ADFI compared to pigs fed extruded full-fat soybean diets (p<0.05). Feed conversion ratio was not different among treatments. No linear or quadratic effect of carnitine addition was found in growth performance. During d 15-28, piglets fed SBM diet also showed better ADG and FCR with no significant differences among treatments. Feed intake tended to increase as carnitine addition level was increased (p=0.10). For overall period (d o to 28), the best performance was observed in pigs fed SBM diet. CP digestibility was higher in pigs fed SBM diet than piglets fed EFS diet at d 14, and DM and CP digestibility tended to be higher in pigs fed SBM diet at d 28. Blood metabolites (BUN, glucose and cholesterol)were not affected by treatments. In conclusion, based on the results of this study piglets at 21 d of age appeared to be not ready for extruded full-fat soybean (FFSB) in their diets. Piglets fed extruded FFSB showed decreased growth rate compared to piglets fed SBM diet. Nutrient utilization was also poor in piglets fed extruded FFSB diets. L-carnitine addition at the level of 50 to 150 ppm was not effective in improving the growth performance of pigs fed EFS diets.

Quality characteristics, fatty acid profiles, flavor compounds and eating quality of cull sow meat in comparison with commercial pork

  • Objective: Although the slaughter of cull sows (CS) for human consumption and meat products processing appears quite common throughout the world, relatively limited scientific information regarding the meat quality parameters of this pork type is available. The present study aimed at providing the technological quality characteristics and eating quality of CS meat, and comparing with those of commercial pork. Methods: Longissimus thoracis et lumborum muscle samples of CS and finisher pigs (FP) at 24 h postmortem were collected and used for investigation of the meat quality traits (pH, color, shear force, cooking loss, water holding capacity), fatty acids, flavor compounds and sensory characteristics. Results: The CS meat had significantly higher moisture content (p = 0.0312) and water holding capacity (p = 0.0213) together with lower cooking loss (p = 0.0366) compared to the FP meat. The CS meat also exhibited higher (p = 0.0409) contents of unsaturated fatty acids, especially polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA, p = 0.0213) and more desirable PUFA/total saturated fatty acids ratio (p = 0.0438) compared to the FP meat. A total of 56 flavor compounds were identified, amongst the amount of 16 compounds differed significantly between the two pork groups. Most of the PUFA-derived flavor compounds (e.g., hexanal, benzaldehyde, and hydrocarbons) showed higher amounts in the CS meat. While, 3-(methylthio)-propanal and 4-methylthiazole associated with pleasant aromas (meaty and roast odor notes) were only found in the FP meat. Furthermore, no differences were reported by panelists for flavor, juiciness, tenderness, and acceptability scores between the two pork groups studied. Conclusion: The sow meat exhibited better technological quality and its eating quality could be comparable to the commercial pork. This study provides meat processors and traders with valuably scientific information which may help to improve the utilization and consumption level of sow meat.

L-arginine and N-carbamoylglutamic acid supplementation enhance young rabbit growth and immunity by regulating intestinal microbial community

  • Objective: An experiment was conducted to determine the effects of L-arginine (L-Arg) and N-carbamoylglutamic acid (NCG) on the growth, metabolism, immunity and community of cecal bacterial flora of weanling and young rabbits. Methods: Eighteen normal-grade male weanling Japanese White rabbits (JWR) were selected and randomly divided into 6 groups with or without L-Arg and NCG supplementation. The whole feeding process was divided into weanling stage (day 37 to 65) and young stage (day 66 to 85). The effects of L-Arg and NCG on the growth, metabolism, immunity and development of the ileum and jejunum were compared via nutrient metabolism experiments and histological assessment. The different communities of cecal bacterial flora affected by L-Arg and NCG were assessed using high-throughput sequencing technology and bioinformatics analysis. Results: The addition of L-Arg and NCG enhanced the growth of weanling and young rabbit by increasing the nitrogen metabolism, protein efficiency ratio, and biological value, as well as feed intake and daily weight gain. Both L-Arg and NCG increased the concentration of immunoglobulin A (IgA), IgM, and IgG. NCG was superior to L-Arg in promoting intestinal villus development by increasing villus height, villus height/crypt depth index, and reducing the crypt depth. The effects of L-Arg and NCG on the cecal bacterial flora were mainly concentrated in different genera, including Parabacteroides, Roseburia, dgA-11_gut_group, Alistipes, Bacteroides, and Ruminococcaceae_UCG-005. These bacteria function mainly in amino acid transport and metabolism, energy production and conversion, lipid transport and metabolism, recombination and repair, cell cycle control, cell division, and cell motility. Conclusion: L-Arg and NCG can promote the growth and immunity of weanling and young JWR, as well as effecting the jejunum and ileum villi. L-Arg and NCG have different effects in the promotion of nutrient utilization, relieving inflammation and enhancing adaptability through regulating microbial community.

New Ruthenium Complexes for Semiconductor Device Using Atomic Layer Deposition

  • Ruthenium (Ru) has attractive material properties due to its promising characteristics such as a low resistivity ($7.1{\mu}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ in the bulk), a high work function of 4.7 eV, and feasibility for the dry etch process. These properties make Ru films appropriate for various applications in the state-of-art semiconductor device technologies. Thus, it has been widely investigated as an electrode for capacitor in the dynamic random access memory (DRAM), a metal gate for metal-oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET), and a seed layer for Cu metallization. Due to the continuous shrinkage of microelectronic devices, better deposition processes for Ru thin films are critically required with excellent step coverages in high aspect ratio (AR) structures. In these respects, atomic layer deposition (ALD) is a viable solution for preparing Ru thin films because it enables atomic-scale control of the film thickness with excellent conformality. A recent investigation reported that the nucleation of ALD-Ru film was enhanced considerably by using a zero-valent metallorganic precursor, compared to the utilization of precursors with higher metal valences. In this study, we will present our research results on the synthesis and characterization of novel ruthenium complexes. The ruthenium compounds were easy synthesized by the reaction of ruthenium halide with appropriate organic ligands in protic solvent, and characterized by NMR, elemental analysis and thermogravimetric analysis. The molecular structures of the complexes were studied by single crystal diffraction. ALD of Ru film was demonstrated using the new Ru metallorganic precursor and O2 as the Ru source and reactant, respectively, at the deposition temperatures of $300-350^{\circ}C$. Self-limited reaction behavior was observed as increasing Ru precursor and O2 pulse time, suggesting that newly developed Ru precursor is applicable for ALD process. Detailed discussions on the chemical and structural properties of Ru thin films as well as its growth behavior using new Ru precursor will be also presented.

ATM망에서 적응적 연결수락제어 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the adaptive Connection Admission Control Method in ATM Networks)

  • 연결수락제어(CAC : Connection Admission Control)는 ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode)망내에 새로운 호의 연결이 요구되었을 때 이 새로운 연결호의 서비스품질을 만족하고, 충분한 자원이 망내에 확보되어 있는 가를 확인한 후 기존에 연결된 호의 서비스 질을 저하시키지 않는 지의 여부를 판단하여 연결 수락 또는 거절을 결정하는 기능을 말한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 적응적 연결수락제어방법은 신고치와 측정치를 이용하여 트래픽을 예측하는 방법으로서, 신고치를 이용한 트래픽 예측은 호 연결 또는 호 해제 시에 회귀적(recursive) 방법으로 계산되며, 측정치를 이용한 트래픽 예측은 측정반영율 및 측정 반영주기는 트래픽 흐름의 변화를 정확히 추정하고 측정에 의한 예측 오차를 줄이는데 중요한 파라미터이다. 본 논문에서는 측정 반영율의 적응적 조정을 위해 트래픽 흐름의 변화가 크게 일어나는 시점인 연결 수락 또는 연결 해제 시점을 기준으로 하여 그 이후의 경과 시간에 따라 측정 반영율을 변화시키는 방안을 제안한다. 제안된 방법에 대해 동질 트래픽과 이질 트래픽의 경우에서 성능평가를 수행한 결과 적응적 연결수락제어방법이 이용율과 서비스품질(QOS : Quality Of Service)관점에서 기존의 연결수락제어방법보다 개선됨을 확인하였다.

Addition of Capsicum oleoresin, Carvacrol, Cinnamaldehyde and their mixtures to the broiler diet II: Effects on meat quality

  • Background: In recent years, with the prohibition of antibiotics used as growth stimulants in the nutrition of farm animals, researchers have searched for alternative natural and reliable products in order to be able to sustain the developments experienced during the use of antibiotics and to overcome the possible inconveniences. In this context, studies on evaluation of essential oils in poultry nutrition have been reported to improve the utilization of feed, stimulate the release of digestive enzymes, increase absorption in the stomach and intestines, antimicrobial and anti-parasitic effects and thus, can be an alternative to antibiotics and improve meat quality as well. Indeed, this study has been carried out to explore the effects of the addition of 150 mg/kg capsicum oleoresin (CAP), carvacrol (CAR), cinnamaldehyde (CIN) or their mixture (CAP+CAR+CIN) into the broilers' ration over sensory, physical and chemical properties in breast meat and leg meat. Methods: Experiments were conducted over 400 male and female broiler chicks (Ross-308) in 5 groups (1 control group and 4 treatment groups), each composed of 80 chicks. The control group was fed without feed additives while the second, third, fourth and the fifth groups were fed with 150 mg CAP/kg feed, 150 mg CAR/kg feed, 150 mg CIN/kg feed, and 150 mg CAP+CAR+CIN/kg feed, respectively. Results: Addition of CAP, CAR, CIN or CAP+CAR+CIN had effects on the sensory (of taste, tenderness, juiciness and overall acceptability); physical properties (of $L^*$ value and toughness), the chemical properties (of DM, CF, CP, linoleic, EPA, behenic, MUFA, PUFA and ${\Sigma}n-6$ of the leg meat), the physical characteristics (of toughness and firmness), and the chemical properties (of CF, CP, linoleic, ecosenic, EPA, lignoseric, MUFA and ${\Sigma}n-3$) of the breast meat in comparison to control group. Furthermore, while the treatments had positive impacts on thawing loss, cooking loss and water holding capacity in both breast and leg meat; no effect was observed on pH value and lipid oxidation on day 1, day 4 and day 8. Conclusion: The results strongly suggested that the addition of CAP, CAR, CIN or CAP+CAR+CIN to the rations of the broiler chicks changed the sensory, physical and chemical properties of breast and leg meat. It was also observed that these compounds were more effective when they were added to the ratio as a mixture rather than adding them individually.

유채의 녹비 환원에 의한 질소무기화 및 옥수수의 질소 흡수 (Incorporation of Winter Rapeseed (Brassica napus) as Green Manure on Mineralization and Uptake of Nitrogen to Succeeding Corn (Zea mays L.))

  • 녹비 작물의 이용은 화학비료의 사용을 대체하고 물질순환에 의한 안전한 농작물 생산을 가능하게 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 바이오디젤 생산의 원료로 이용되는 유채 종자의 유채의 녹비 환원에 의한 질소무기화 및 옥수수의 질소 흡수 389 수확 후 잔유물의 녹비 이용 가능성을 평가하였다. 유채 수확 후 잔류물의 질소함량은 0.53%로 낮았으며 탄질율은 63으로 나타났다. 유채 잔유물의 부숙기간 없이 환원 직후 파종한 처리구는 옥수수의 질소 흡수를 지연시켰으며, 생육에서도 30일간 부숙기간을 설정한 처리구의 옥수수보다 억제되어 유채 잔유물의 녹비 환원 직후 후작물의 파종은 주의해야 할 것으로 판단되었다. 유채 잔유물의 녹비 환원 90일 후 질소무기화는 암모늄태 질소(24.2mg/kg)보다 질산태 질소(58.4mg/kg)에서 높았으며, 방출된 무기태 질소에 대한 옥수수의 흡수 및 이용량은 부숙기간 없이 환원 직후 파종한 처리구와 30일간 부숙기간을 설정한 처리구에서 각각 86%와 88%로 나타났다.

약물 전달 시스템 적용을 위한 셀룰로오스 나노크리스탈(CNCs) 강화 Poly(vinyl alcohol) 기반 하이드로겔의 제조 및 특성 (Preparation and Characterization of Cellulose Nanocrystals Reinforced Poly (vinyl alcohol) Based Hydrogels for Drug Delivery System)

  • 기존 연질 구조의 하이드로겔은 낮은 기계적 강도로 인하여 생의학 분야에서 응용이 제한된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위해서 폴리비닐알코올(PVA: poly(vinyl alcohol))기반 하이드로겔에 셀룰로오스 나노크리스탈(CNCs)을 첨가하여 CNCs가 기계적 특성 및 약물전달 효율에 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 제조된 하이드로겔은 FT-IR 분석으로 아세탈 및 알데히드 결합으로 가교결합된 망상구조(semi-IPN: semi-interpenetrating polymer network)로 합성된 것이 확인되었다. CNCs 함량이 증가될수록 수분 흡수 및 팽윤도가 감소했으며, 점탄성은 증가하였다. 또한 CNCs의 첨가는 약물 로딩량의 증가와 약물 방출량의 지속성을 향상시켰다. 이러한 결과는 CNCs를 하이드로겔에 첨가하는 것이 하이드로겔의 약물전달 효율성 및 기계적 특성을 개선시키는 좋은 대안이 될 수 있음을 보여주었다.

한강유역의 다목적댐 운영에 따른 빈도홍수량의 평가 (Assessment of Probability Flood according to the Flow Regulation by Multi-purpose Dams in Han-River Basin)

  • 본 연구에서는 팔당댐 지점을 중심으로 상류에 위치하고 있는 소양강, 충주 다목적댐 운영에 따른 빈도홍수량의 거동변화를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 연구하기 위해서는 동일기간의 댐운영 여부에 따른 두 계열(조절유량, 비조절 유량)의 홍수량 자료를 합리적으로 획득하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다. 홍수량 산정을 위해서는 단기 강우-유출모형을 이용해야 하지만, 계산의 어려움과 유역의 비선형으로 인해 그 결과를 증명하기 매우 어려운 현실이다. 따라서 상대적으로 유역면적이 클수록 일유량과 홍수량의 관계가 비교적 일정한 경향을 보인다는 점에 착안하여, 장기유출모형인 SWAT-K를 이용하여 댐운영 여부에 따른 두 계열의 일유량을 모의하였다. 일유량과 홍수량의 상관관계로 모의된 일유량을 홍수량으로 유도한 후, 댐운영 여부에 따른 빈도홍수량의 변화특성을 파악하였다. 홍수빈도분석을 위해 사용된 분포는 Extreme Type-I이며, 매개변수 추정은 L-moment 방법을 이용하였다. 연구결과에 따르면, 소양강, 충주 두 다목적댐 운영이 이루어지지 않은 상황에 대한 팔당댐 지점에서의 100년 빈도홍수량에 비하여, 소양강댐, 충주댐, 소양강과 충주댐의 운영유무에 따른 3가지 시나리오에 대한 빈도홍수량은 각각 91, 83, 71 % 규모로 분석되었다. 본 연구는 유역면적이 상대적으로 넓은 유역에서 댐운영 여부에 따른 빈도홍수량의 변화를 파악할 수 있는 새로운 시도였다. 이는 일유량 자료의 이용 및 분석에 있어 이수적인 측면뿐만 아니라 치수적인 측면에서의 활용성을 높일 것으로 판단된다.
