  • In the vision of ubiquitous computing environment, smart objects would communicate each other and provide many kinds of information about user and their surroundings in the home. This information enables smart objects to recognize context and to provide active and convenient services to the customers. However in most cases, context-aware services are available only with expert systems. In this paper, we present generalized activity recognition application in the smart home based on a naive Bayesian network(BN) and fuzzy clustering. We quantize continuous sensor data with fuzzy c-means clustering to simplify and reduce BN's conditional probability table size. And we apply mutual information to learn the BN structure efficiently. We show that this system can recognize user activities about 80% accuracy in the web based virtual smart home.

  • There are many researches on visual languages, but the most of them are difficult to support various collaborative interactions on a distributed multimedia environment. So, this paper suggests a collaborative visual language for interaction between multi-users. The visual language can describe a conceptual model for collaborative interactions between multi-users. Using the visual language, generated visual sentences consist of object icons and interaction operators. An object icon represents a user who is responsible for a collaborative activity, has dynamic attributes of a user, and supports flexible interaction between multi-users. An interaction operator represents an interactive relation between multi-users and supports various collaborative interactions. Merits of the visual language are as follows: supporting of both asynchronous interaction and synchronous interaction, supporting flexible interaction between multi-users according to participation or leave of users, supporting a user oriented modeling, etc. For example, an application to a workflow system for document approval is illustrated. So we could be found that the visual language shows a collaborative interaction.

  • As diverse researches are working about location acquisition, storing method, data modeling and query processing of moving objects, the moving object database systems, which can gain, store and manage location information and query processing, are tuning up. As the mobile device is moving but have constraints, the convenience user interface for spatio-temporal query and viewing query result needs. In this paper, we designed user Interface for spatio-temporal query related moving objects, viewing query result, tracing current and past location of those and monitoring. And we designed system for implementation of these interfaces.

  • In recent years, deep learning has been widely used in news recommendation systems. In the previous personalized news recommendation, a large number of CF-based methods, content-based or hybrid methods have been proposed. But most of the works are only modeling the user's interaction history, ignoring the hidden meaning of the user's continuous behaviors. In this paper, we propose to adopt the powerful Transformer model in order to understand the hidden meaning of the user's continuous behaviors in news recommendations. The experimental results prove the superiority of the transformer, and the AUC has been significantly improved as compared to the original model.

  • This study suggests IFC-based bridge information modeling methods and its application model in BIM environment. Data model extension for bridge structure was achieved using user-defined property sets based on IFC framework. First, identification information was added. Bridge members are identified through physical and spatial semantic information added as property sets. Instances for semantic information were assigned according to standardized rules. Second, CO2 related factors were added for application information model. It can play a role to calculate and manage the quantity of CO2 emission. Third, properties for temporary structure to estimate and manage the construction cost were added. Finally, we investigated proposed methods through implementing the application information model of bridges.

  • This study aimed to examine the factors of information-sharing intention on social networking sites (SNSs) by integrating the perspectives of the institution-based trust, social presence, and theory of reasoned action (TRA). An empirical survey was conducted and 364 valid respondents were collected from Facebook (FB) users in Taiwan. These data were analyzed against the research model using the partial least squares (PLS) structural equation modeling. The findings revealed that situational normality and structural assurance have a positive influenced user trust in SNSs which in turn increased their information-sharing attitudes. Furthermore, the subjective norms, user information-sharing attitudes and social presence of the SNSs were shown to have a positive influenced on user information sharing intention. Finally, this study provided several important theoretical and practical implications to understand factors affecting information-sharing intention on SNSs.

  • We propose 'the haptic primitive' for haptic rendering without the need to solve complicated parametric equations. To develop 'the haptic primitive', we adopted "the God-Object Method" as a haptic rendering algorithm and applied 'Constructive Solid Geometry' to manage haptic objects. Besides being used in the 'ghost library' of $PHANToMTM^{TM}$ our method can be used as a basic component for developing tools and libraries that aim to simplify haptic modeling. It can also be applied to tactile display modules and temporal display modules. Ultimately it can be developed into a one-stop haptic modeling tool that enables the user to more conveniently create a tangible CAD systems or a tangible e-ommerce system.
