A Study on Improvement of Electronic Library Services Using User Review Data in Mobile App Market

  • This study aims to analyze users' assessment of electronic libraries in the mobile app market and promote service improvement based on this. To this end, the basic background and purpose of the research, research method, and research scope were first set, and the relevant literature and empirical prior studies were analyzed. Next, users' evaluations of electronic libraries were collected and analyzed from Google Play Store. Based on the results analyzed, measures to improve the quality of electronic libraries were discussed. Based on the results of the study, the following improvement measures are proposed. Need for systemic improvement and stabilization. Provision of applications suitable for multi-device environments. Resumption of services after systematic inspection after updating. Simplification of sign up, log in, and authentication procedures. User support through real-time chat. Introduction of a detailed assessment of reviews. Provision of guidance and user manual for electronic libraries. Improvements to expand user convenience, and Securing differentiation from other similar services.

  • This study is an attempt to develop a knowledge base with Inference mechanism for document retrieval, which is the core element of expert system. The purpose of this study is to design the knowledge base in order to intellectually process user queries eventually improving the effectiveness of information retrieval, under the assumption that the user who wants to search a certain subject generally lack the prior knowledge about that subject. In this paper, some characteristics of Korean complex nouns are structurally analyzed and are represented in the knowledge base.

A Study on the Explanation Scheme using Problem Solving Primitives

  • Knowledge based system includes tools for constructing, testing, validating and refining the system along with user interfaces. An important issue in the design of a complete knowledge based system is the ability to produce explanations. Explanations are not just a series of rules involved in reasoning track. More detailed and explicit form of explanations is required not only for reliable reasoning but also for maintainability of the knowledge based system. This requires the explanation mechanisms to extend from knowledge oriented analysis to task oriented explanations. The explicit modeling of problem solving structures is suggested for explanation generation as well as for efficient and effective reasoning. Unlike other explanation scheme such as feedback explanation, the detailed, smaller and explicit representation of problem solving constructs can provide the system with capability of quality explanation. As a key step to development for explanation scheme, the problem solving methods are broken down into a finer grained problem solving primitives. The system records all the steps with problem solving primitives and knowledge involved in the reasoning. These are used to validate the conclusion of the consultation through explanations. The system provides user interfaces and uses specific templates for generating explanation text.

  • In developing an Expert System(ES), there are two ways. One is to develop an ES using AI(artificial Intelligence) languages and another using ES-development tools. CLIPS is an ES-development tool and has a powerful inference engine in it. Using the tool like CLIPS, knowledge engineer can concentrate on constructing a knowledge base without wasting time in developing an inference engine. However, CLIPS is lack of user-friendly interfaces for both knowledge enginners and users. Because CLIPS was developed in USA, it can not afford to use Korean language. Therefore, several user-friendly interfaces including hmenu, htille, hpcxdisplay were develpoed and added to CLIPS. CLIPS with the interfaces is called HCLIPS(Hangul CLIPS) in this paper. HCLIPS provides a new I/O device to be utilized for expert systems in Korean. HCLIPS can be efficiently used for developing expert systems in agriculture and consulting farmers interactively who are not familiar with computer programming and ES itself.

  • With the rapid development of digital media, there has been a huge change in a way of communication, a process of information diffusion and a role of traditional media. Not like mass media, social media enables users to generate and tap into the opinions of a larger world. From that reason, social media is impacting marketing strategies. However, still social media marketing researches just focus on case study, analysis of users motivation or analysis of power user's usage pattern. Word-of-mouth has always been important especially in marketing area. In social media, word-of-mouth depends on each user that's why this research focuses on individual user's activity in SNS. I defined 4 factors (produce, diffusion, network size, activity of network size enlarge) that are effect on activity and verified hypothesis by multiple regression analysis, hierarchical regression analysis and moderated multiple regression.

  • Recently, plant construction industries are enjoying a favorable business climate centering around developing countries and oil producing countries rich in oil money. This paper proposes a methodology of implementing case-based reasoning(CBR) system for managing knowledge like lessons learned and various documents accumulated in performing power plant construction projects which are receiving a lot of order from foreign countries such as the Middle East, etc. Our methodology is consisted of 10 steps : user requirement gathering, information modeling, case modeling, case base design, similarity function design, user interface design, case base building, CBR module development, user interface implementation, integration test. Also, to illustrate the effectiveness of proposed methodology, the real CBR system is implemented for the plant business division of 'H' company which has international competitiveness in the field of plant construction industry. At present, the implemented CBR system is successfully utilizing as storing, sharing, and reusing knowledge which is accumulated in performing power plant construction projects in the target enterprise.

이용자의 지식상태와 브라우징 탐색에 관한 연구

  • Some conclusions derived from the study are as follows : 1) Most conventional information retrieval systems require users do precisely that specify the information they require, but user's information needs are not always precise. 2) Information need arise from when users are in an anomalous stats of knowledge about some problem, so user's information needs are not always precise. 3) Information retrieval systems must assist to users make themselves correct, complement, and specify their information need. When information need arise, systems should understand the state of knowledge and will be design to present and specify their ill-defined potential information need. 4) Existing information retrieval techniques need a tool to complement current its disadvantages and to enhance retrieval efficiency. Browsing searching will be a role such as a tool. 5) Browsing searching can understand user's state of knowledge and assist to specify not only pre-searching information need but also changed information need during searching progress.

  • In this study, a user-friendly expert system is developed for bright nickel plating processes which have a number of influence factors related to the plating quality. Because the mutual relations between these factors in the processes are not quantitatively identified, the expert system deals mainly with the troubleshooting process problems by using the production rule which is able to utilize effectively the qualitatives knowledge and the accumulated experience. Especially, to provide the system user with more timely and convenient informations about the cause of problem symptom and the corresponding countermeasure, it is introduced the interactive user interface using the Korean language. Also the knowledge base and inference engine of the expert system are completely separated, so that the substance of knowledge base can be easily updated and extended.

  • UX (User Experience) Design was an interdisciplinary approach in humanities, engineering, science and design. We classified the roles of user experience; requirement analysis which are user research, constraints analysis and direction analysis, concept design, information architecture, physical UI, graphical UI, sound UI, Olfactory UI, prototype, evaluation, launch, localization, and knowledge management/UI DB. User research methods were classified by the relation of designer, user, and product/service. We reviewed three issues of UX design; complexity management, efficiency management, and mapping management.
