Purpose: The ratio of the visually impaired is gradually increasing due to various causes such as natural aging, accidents, and environmental changes. Therefore, this study has two folds. Firstly, it aims to analyze the current satisfaction level with information facilities for the visually impaired. Secondly, it aims to examine the factors affecting the satisfaction with indoor information facilities. Through this study, it helps to identify problems of information facilities for the visually impaired and it works as a practical data for further improvements. Methods: For 50 visually impaired people, a telephone survey was conducted on the satisfaction with the braille blocks, braille signboards, braille information boards with tactile map, audio guide devices, and safety egress devices. Microsoft Excel and SPSS 26.0 were used for the analysis. Results: It was confirmed that the overall satisfaction with the indoor information facilities was very low. The more the visually impaired people recognized the installation standards, and the better the maintenance was, the higher the satisfaction. In the case of braille blocks and braille signboards, the effect of information transfer on satisfaction was relatively high. In the case of audio guide device and safety egress device, the standard suitability influenced satisfaction. Implications: The low level of satisfaction with the overall information facilities can impede visually impaired people from receiving practical help through the information facilities. Factors influencing the satisfaction level of each facility were identified, which makes it possible to prepare effective improvement measures.

The traditional market in the nation was forced to decrease greatly users as well as sales because of opening of all of the markets, Internet shopping mall, home shopping and other new types of marketing businesses to lose market functions remarkably. Therefore, the Agency for Traditional Market Administration of Small & Medium Business Administration made efforts to develop traditional market, for instance, modernization of the facilities to improve physical environment, and improvement of each shop by using VMD, and so on. The purpose of the study was to examine efficiency of VMD shops for development of traditional market by the Agency for Traditional Market Administration and effects of VMD upon sales of each shop, and to help establish VMD strategies for customer satisfactions as well as visual environment of traditional market. The author visited five shops at Busan Jin Market, special market of articles for wedding ceremony that joined VMD shop guide of traditional market, and taught VMD on-the-spot and investigated it. Questionnaire of Agency for Traditional Market Administration was used to interview shop owners, shopkeepers and consumers, etc and to examine factors of changes of sales and customers' satisfactions before and after VMD. The purpose of the study was to investigate effects and satisfactions of increase of the sales of VMD shop guide that the government promoted to develop traditional market so far. Therefore, the author investigated VMD presentation, increase of the sales before and after VMD presentation, increase of number of customers, and satisfactions, etc of Korean clothes shops that joined improvement of VMD shop guide of traditional market of the government in 2010. The author investigated effects of the sales, increase of customers and satisfactions, etc by case study and empirical analysis, and she presented user-oriented VMD presentation techniques of traditional market and suggested improvement. After applying VMD, the shops could increase sales more than 20 percent in average, and satisfaction of VMD presentation was more than 88 points or more to be very much high. This study suggested VMD strategies and presentation of traditional market to give consumers affirmative visual images and to develop traditional market.

This study developed subject guides for modern Korean literature materials that National Library of Korea owns. These were developed through processes such as domestic and foreign case studies, research on user's awareness, and theoretical investigation of modern Korean literature and subject guides in order to reflect characteristics unique to modern Korean literature which existed under special historical conditions. The results of acquiring actual data are as follows. First, this study acquired bibliographic data on 23,731 cases of works and information about figures regarding 117 authors of modern Korean literature. Second, this study covered raw data generated by the corresponding authors from 1894 to 1945 and the derived data generated by other authors until now on the basis of that. Third, an attempt was made to cluster the relevant information through arrangement system by author, genre and time period. The above-mentioned study results are regarded to be significant because an attempt is made to systematize and structure modern Korean literature existing in a complicated condition to such an extent that it was not possible for even the relevant academic world to find exact statistical data on author at that time.

Recently mobile broadcast standards that have IP layer between transport layer and service layer such as DVB-IPDC, OMA-BCAST have been commercialized. Specially, IP abstract layer of OMA-BCAST makes it possible to interface diverse transport layers. Service guide, that is important for user interface, of these mobile broadcast standards has complex structure and heterogeneous schema. ESG schema is not interoperable, therefore terminals should have various implementations of service layer to support more than one service layer at a time. In this paper, not only for enabling interoperability of DVB-IPDC and OMA-BCAST but for supporting basic scenarios of mobile broadcast, simple ESG schema was developed. This new schema can be used as an independent ESG schema, especially for the integrated mobile broadcast middleware environment.

Recently, massive amount of infonnation is provided for the internet users. So users want to search information on Internet, but it is difficult to search information what you want. In this paper, we propose a personal Web-agent system using Case-based learning, Web-Guide. Web-Guide consists of two sub-system, interface-system and learning-system. Interface-system operates other web-browser nearly the same and connects user to system. And interface-system transfer datas of current page to learning-queue. Learning-system visit and evaluate the value of each page in learning-queue using evaluation-function that gave weight values occupied by analyzing tag used the character of HTML document. After all users who are known about artificial intelligence well and not made experiments by using Web-Guide, they reached their desired sites faster than before.

The augmented reality(AR) technology enables to acquire various image information at the same time by combining virtual image information with the user's viewpoint. These AR technologies have been used to visualize patients' organs and tissues during surgery and diagnosis in the fields of Image-Guide Operation, Surgical Training, and Image Diagnosis by medical convergence, and provides the most effective surgical methods. In this paper, we study the technical features and application methods of each element technology for medical fusion of AR technology. In the AR technology for medical convergence, display, marker recognition and image synthesis interface technology is essential for efficient medical image. Such AR technology is considered to be a way to drastically improve current medical technology in the fields of image guide surgery, surgical education, and imaging diagnosis.

In this paper, a land and maritime unified tourism information guide system is proposed which employs robust speech recognition in ship noise environments. Most of conventional front-ends for speech recognition have used a Wiener filter to compensate for stationary noise such as car or babble noises. However, such the conventional front-ends have limitation in reducing non-stationary noise that are occurred inside the ship on voyage. To overcome such a limitation, the proposed system incorporates nonlinear multi-band spectral subtraction to provide highly accurate tourism route recognition. It is shown from the experiment that compared to a conventional system the proposed system achieves relative improvement of a tourism route recognition rate by 5.54% under a noise condition of 10 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).

With the growth of Chinese manufacturing industry and strengthening of manufacturing industry in advanced countries, the competitiveness of Korean manufacturing industry has become weak. Accordingly, it is time when energy for new growth is required very strongly. This research is the basic research to construct a cognitive and emotional information system to support sound design in manufacturing industry, and aims to develop AUI (Auditory User Interface) guideline. To fulfill research aims, this research conducted interviews to persons belonging to the manufacturing industry, and analyzed contexts and major characteristics related with AUI design. In addition, this research conducted survey on 269 persons on user preference on representative function of products. By analyzing survey data, this research examined the most suitable melody method for each sound, and difference in user preference between men and women. Based on beep sound, it performed analysis focusing on the number of sounds, melody types, and code. It also extracted AUI guidelines usable when users of the product into male and female. This research has significance in the sense that it built the basic guide data which can support AUI design in manufacturing industry.

The trend of the web is moving from portal-centered to user-centered, and RIA(rich internet application) is considered best solution for usability and functionality of the next generation web. But the lack of reference document or technical guide for RIA implementation is a big obstacle for extension of RIA environment to practical business engineer or user. In this paper, I will suggest the implementation conceptand reference site for user-centered environment based on RIA concept. The suggested concept support wire/wireless environment, and use the e-mail that is already used by many company or portal. The contents of this paper will be very helpful to the practical engineer or portal/company that want to use or implement about RIA environment.

This study tries to survey general behaviors of the users and their's perceptions on the service quality, with the staff members' expectations, of the Information Commons in the National Digital Library of Korea. 'Computer Cluster,' 'User guide service' and 'Internet information' are most used and general facilities, services, and contents are most satisfied. The comparative analysis shows that the customers' perceptions of overall satisfaction, customer loyalty, and service quality and overall satisfaction of each three primary dimensions(library staff, resources and services, facility and physical environment) are higher than those of staff members' expectations.
