Fast Fuzzy Control of Warranty Claims System

  • Classical warranty plans require crisp data obtained from strictly controlled reliability tests. However, in a real situation these requirements might not be fulfilled. In an extreme case, the warranty claims data come from users whose reports are expressed in a vague way. Furthermore, there are special situations where several characteristics are used together as criteria for judging the warranty eligibility of a failed product. This paper suggests a fast reasoning model based on fuzzy logic to handle multi-attribute and vague warranty data.

The use of ketogenic diet in special situations: expanding use in intractable epilepsy and other neurologic disorders

  • The ketogenic diet has been widely used and proved to be effective for intractable epilepsy. Although the mechanisms underlying its antiepileptic effects remain to be proven, there are increasing experimental evidences for its neuroprotective effects along with many researches about expanding use of the diet in other neurologic disorders. The first success was reported in glucose transporter type 1 deficiency syndrome, in which the diet served as an alternative metabolic source. Many neurologic disorders share some of the common pathologic mechanisms such as mitochondrial dysfunction, altered neurotransmitter function and synaptic transmission, or abnormal regulation of reactive oxygen species, and the role of the ketogenic diet has been postulated in these mechanisms. In this article, we introduce an overview about the expanding use and emerging trials of the ketogenic diet in various neurologic disorders excluding intractable epilepsy and provide explanations of the mechanisms in that usage.

한국형발사체를 사용한 달궤도선의 임무 설계 (Mission Design for a Lunar Orbiter Launched by KSLV-II)

  • 본 논문에서는 한국형발사체를 사용한 달 탐사 위성의 궤적 설계를 수행하였다. 발사체는 달탐사위성과 킥모터 스테이지를 지구 저궤도에 투입하고, 이후 킥모터 스테이지의 연소에 의해 직접전이궤도 또는 고타원궤도에 투입된다. 설계된 궤적에 대해 TLI 및 LOI 기동을 실제와 가깝게 finite burn으로 모델링하여 요구속도 및 필요한 추진제량을 계산하여, 한국형 발사체를 사용할 경우 발사 임무에 대한 가능성을 제시하였다.

임의 형상의 여러 원자재 위에서의 효과적인 배치방안 (An Effective Method for the Nesting on Several Irregular Raw Sheets)

  • An effective nesting algorithm has been proposed to allocate the arbitrary shapes on one or several raw sheets by applying the well-known simulated annealing algorithm as the optimization technique. In this approach, both the shapes to be allocated and the raw sheets are represented as the grid-based models. This algorithm can accommodate every possible situations encountered in cutting apparel parts from the raw leather sheets. In other words, the usage of the internal hole of a shape for other small shapes, handling of the irregular boundaries and the interior defects of the raw sheets, and the simultaneous allocation on more than one raw sheets have been tackled on successfully in this study. Several computational experiments are presented to verify the robustness of the proposed algorithm.

  • The purpose of the study were to examine the causal relationships of apparel store patronage behavior on types of stores and information sources and to investigate which variables significantly apparel store patronage behavior. Data were randomly obtained from 433 housewives living in Pusan. A self-administered limiting apparel usage situations to the couples party was developed based on previous researches. They were analyzed by Fator analysis and Path analysis. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The apparel store patronage behavior of housewives was followed the process of life styleslongrightarrowinformation sourceslongrightarrowshopping orientationslongrightarrowstore imageslongrightarrowpatronage behavior, and in apparel store patronage behavior according to the types of information sources mass media information, interpersonal information, and store information. 3. There were differences in causal relationships of patronage behavior on apparel store types.

Exploring the Phenomenon of Consumers' Experiences of Reading Online Consumer Reviews

  • This paper aims to explore the analysis of the meanings and processes of reading online consumer reviews and to construct a substantive theory that explains the process involved with the phenomenon of reading consumer reviews. In order to explore the phenomenon, this study employs a qualitative methodology. Following the grounded theory perspective, the researcher conducted interviews with 17 participants, who have subsequently shopped online and utilized online consumer reviews for shopping, and decidedly employed in-depth interviews with those participants. Through coding and making constant comparison, several themes emerged: improving confidence, trusting reviews, getting a sense of who reviewers are, seeking balance, processing and handling negative reviews, experiencing vicariously, increasing searchability, getting a sense of who they are in terms of similarity, and seeking benefits and the usage situations from consumer based reviews. Among the emerging themes, improving confidence can be considered a core category, which is influenced by the analysis of trusting reviews and the consumer vicarious experiences with a product. Moreover, this study discusses the relationships among the themes. This study concludes with a discussion of the results, implications, and limitations.

Statistical and Entropy Based Human Motion Analysis

  • As visual surveillance systems gain wider usage in a variety of fields, it is important that they are capable of interpreting scenes automatically, also known as "human motion analysis" (HMA). However, existing HMA methods are too domain specific and computationally expensive. This paper proposes a general purpose HMA method that is based on the idea that human beings tend to exhibit erratic motion patterns during abnormal situations. Limb movements are characterized using the statistics of angular and linear displacements. In addition, the method is enhanced via the use of the entropy of the Fourier spectrum to measure the randomness of subject's motions. Various experiments have been conducted and the results indicate that the proposed method has very high classification accuracy in identifying anomalous behavior.

  • Recently, the applications of corrugated plates(or folded plates) are increasing due to economic and structural advantages in certain situations. And, because of the higher strength of corrugated plates than flat plates, the usage of the corrugated plates is increasing. So there are many necessities for specifications of corrugated plates. For flat plates, there are many design details in almost specifications. However, there are no detail design guides such as shear strength except the bending strength and the normal strength. So, it is difficult for engineers to design structures consist of corrugated plates. Therefore, a provision is necessary for engineers to refer for designing corrugated plates. The conclusion of this study shows a formula that helps to determine the shear strength of corrugated plates under various geometric conditions ; the size of corrugation ; the curvature of corrugation and ; the thickness of the corrugated plate. Also, it shows that corrugated plates have higher shear buckling strength than flat plates.

  • Edge Computing enables real-time big data processing by performing computing close to the physical location of the user or data source. However, in an edge computing environment, various situations that affect big data processing performance may occur depending on temporary service requirements or changes of physical resources in the field. In this paper, we proposed a BigCrawler system that dynamically configures the computing module and storage module according to the big data collection status and computing resource usage status in the edge computing environment. And the feature of big data processing workload according to the arrangement of computing module and storage module were analyzed.

실시간 채팅 환경에서 문장 분석을 이용한 대상자 및 비속어 검출 (Target and Swear Word Detection Using Sentence Analysis in Real-Time Chatting)

  • By the increase of internet usage, communicating online became an everyday thing. Thereby various people have experienced profanity by anonymous users. Nowadays lots of studies tried to solve this problem using artificial intelligence, but most of the solutions were for non-real time situations. In this paper, we propose a Telegram plugin that detects swear words using word2vec, and an algorithm to find the target of the sentence. We vectorized the input sentence to find connections with other similar words, then inputted the value to the pre-trained CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) model to detect any swears. For target recognition we proposed a sequential algorithm based on KoNLPY.
