  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual conditions of consumers' usage of functional golfwear which is widely used in the current sportswear market. The study was carried out on 225 golfers in Busan and KyungNam area based on the demographics such as gender, age, occupation, and income. The collected data was processed with SPSS 14.0 program using frequency analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, and ANOVA. In the results of the analysis, golfers did not show high reliability and satisfaction on the functional golfwear. In the results of the most function-required golfwear items, there were shirts, pants, footwear, gloves, windbreaker, innerwear etc. in order. Most of golfers answered that the function of golfwear was required for pleasant and comfort golf activity. Therefore, it is necessary for golfwear makers to develop consumer-oriented golfwear products which are reliable and satisfiable to golf consumers.

  • This survey was carried out to investigate the usage of traditional fermented foods. Questionaries were answered by 283 female adults ranging from 20 to 60 ages in Daegu city and Kyungbuk province. 39.72% of total subjects answered that they made Meju and soybean paste by themselves. There were significant differences according to income, residential area, deucation level, and family size, In the results of the preference and consumption study on traditional soybean pastes, Kimchi and salted sea foods, preference of salted sea foods was the highest, whereas the consumption of salted sea foods was the lowest. The recognition of soybean pastes and traditional foods was remarkably low. However the consumption frequency of traditional fermented foods and the recognition of soybean pastes and traditional foods were significantly increased with age.

  • As the IT industry has developed, the frequency of mobile communication usage has increased sharply. Mobile communication has many advantages such as improving work performance, communication beyond time and local constraints, and rapid and vast amounts of information exchange. However, mobile communication also allows supervisors to give their subordinates work at any time. Thus, mobile communication may also have a negative impact on workers' stress levels during non-work time. This study examined required time, urgent business, personal engagement, and trivial matters as sub-dimensions of mobile communication messages that workers could receive during non-work time. Further, the nature of the relationship between team leaders and members explains how these messages may increase the stress levels of workers. Supervisors should prohibit the use of such mobile communication, and efforts should be made at the enterprise level. Through this research, we aim to explain the dual nature of mobile communication, and understand how to optimize the usage of this innovative technology

  • The purpose of this study was to classify the types of housing life style. Housing life style was measured using four variables : furniture usage pattern, space usage pattern, family living pattern and heating system. A final Instrument was developed through the two stage pilot surveys. The respondents were 1,292 home-makers of the middle and high economic classes In Seoul and Daejeon, selected through stratified random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using SAS computer packages. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, Pear-3on`s correlation coefficient, Multiple Linear Regression, X2, and cluster analysis. The major findings were as follows : Five representative types of housing life style were found through cluster analysis. They were conventional minimum level life style, conventional optimum famiIy-centered life style, eclectic family-centered life style, contemporary optimum family - centered and contemporary so-cial, leasure-oriented life style.

  • In this paper, downlink capacity of time duplex division (TDD) based cellular wireless networks utilizing fixed hopping stations is investigated. In the network, a number of fixed subscriber stations act as hopping transmission stations between base stations and far away subscribers, forming a cellular and ad hoc mobile network model. At the radio layer, TDD code division multiple access (CDMA) is selected as the radio interface due to high efficiency of frequency usage. In order to improve the system performance in terms of downlink capacity, we propose different time slot allocation schemes with the usage of fixed hopping stations, which can be selected by either random or distanced dependent schemes. Performance results obtained by computer simulation demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed network to improve downlink system capacity.

  • This paper first reviews various techniques proposed for automatic indexing with special emphasis placed on statistical techniques. Frequency-based statistical techniques are categorized into the following three approaches for further investigation on the basis of index term selection criteria: term frequency approach, document frequency approach, and probabilistic approach. In the experimental part of this study, Pao's technique based on the Goffman's transition region formula and Harter's 2-Poisson distribution model with a measure of the potential effectiveness of index term were tested. Experimental document collection consists of 30 agriculture-related documents written in Korean. Pao's technique did not yield good result presumably due to the difference in word usage between Korean and English. However, Harter's model holds some promise for Korean document indexing because the evaluation result from this experiment was similar to that of the Harter's.

  • Energy Storage Systems (ESSs) are essential in the future power systems because they can improve power usage efficiency. In this paper, we propose the countermeasure for improving the power quality using coordinated control of BESS(Battery Energy Storage System) on EV connected system. To verify the performance of proposed scheme, we simulate on the actual power system of KEPCO and compare the results of voltage variation, frequency variation, and load factor with those of uncoordinated control. From the simulation results, we confirm that frequency and voltage deviation are significantly reduced with proposed coordinated control of BESS.

  • The purpose of the study is to evaluate the usage of microtremor in estimation of subsurface structure and ground response to ground motion. Ground motion amplification based on site condition of an area is an important parameter for dynamic design. Microtremor cover the characteristics in a low frequency range, while forced vibrations cover them in a high-frequency range. Microtremor consider ground characteristics and offer transfer function in area. To determine the dominant frequency, the passive microtremor measurement is performed and to determine the transfer function of test site, active microtremor measurement is performed. Microtremor measurement in the site is compared with theoretical transfer function calculated from the known structures.

  • As the average usage period of transformers increases, it is becoming increasingly necessary to know the internal condition of transformers. It is therefore critically important to establish monitoring and diagnostic techniques that can perform transformer condition assessment. Frequency response analysis, generally known as FRA, is one of the technologies to diagnose transformers. Using case studies, this paper presents the effectiveness of FRA as measurements for detecting transformer failures. This paper introduces the fact that FRA waveforms have useful information about diagnosis of failure on core earths and winding shield, and that the condition outside transformers can affect frequency response characteristics.

  • Recently, annual usage of energy is dramatically increasing because industrialization is going faster and more electricity is needed due to various electronic devices. This study focused on the performance characteristics of solar cell using the impedance technique. The experiment measured an impedance according to frequency's from 2 mHz until 1 MHz. It could know that the impedance was decreased according to the frequency increases in solar cell. The imaginary part was changed from capacitance component to inductance component.
