The application of Shinkihuan umder the combination of configuration, color, pulse and symptoms leads to the following conclusions: Shinkihuan is applied to the diseases related with lung, kidney and the spine: difficult urination of old people, shortness of breath, hematuria, loss of voice, distorted vision, deafness of deficiency, hemorrhoids, thirst, carbunde, suppurative infection, children's retardation of walking and noma, etc ... The effect of Shinkihuan is as follows. It nourishes the lung, replenishes the kidney fluid, relieves the phlegm, tranquilizes fever due to deficiency of blood and reinforces the liver. Shinkihuan is appropriate for the persons with the following characteristics in configuration: male, tall, thin, dam-typed, inverted-triangular, prominent nosed and dry.

SRY gene is normally responsible for testis induction, yet testis development can occur in the absence of SRY. In here, we analyzed the SRY-negative sex reversal in cocker spaniel, at 1.5 year-old. The attacked dog was suffered from enlarged clitoris, and resulted in disorder of urination. By surgically approach, enlarged clitoris and one testis, which are apparently seen, are removed. Additionally, thorough the abdomen surgery, uterus and ovary-like mass were removed. The dog had XX, chromosome, showed negative for SRY-gene, and the mass had the ovary-testis structure. In other words, based on the macroscopic, cytogenic, and histological study, we can diagnose the cocker spaniel as SRY-negative sex reversal.

Fruits of Rubus coreanum (Korean name: Bog-bun-ja) have been used in oriental traditional medicine as the remedies for impotence, pollution, premature ejaculation and frequency of urination etc. It is known to have phenolic compounds as an astringent. By means of chromatographic methods, four hydrolyzable tannins were isolated from the fruits of R. coreanum. The structures of these compounds were established as gallic acid, 2,3(S)-HHDP-D-glucopyranose, sanguiin H-4 and sanguiin H-6 on the basis of physicochemical and spectroscopic evidences.

We report a case of cauda equine syndrome following caudal anesthesia possibly caused by metastatic spine tumor. Male, 80-year-old, who had prostatic carcinoma with $L_3$ and $L_4$ spine metastasis was scheduled for bilateral orchiectomy. Twenty two-gauge needle was introduced at sacral hiatus and 15 ml of 2% lidocaine administered. The next morning, patient complained of perineal numbness and urination difficulty. During the next several day patient had episodes of fecal incontinence and motor weakness on both lower extremities. This case reminded us that neuroaxial blocks such as spinal, epidural and caudal anesthesia, should be used with extreme care in patients having neoplasm with high incidence of spine metastasis.

고령화 인구가 증가함에 따라 실비케어에 대한 관심이 높아져 ICT 기술을 적용하여 환자 중심의 의료 서비스를 제공하기 위한 연구가 활발해지고 있다. 특히, 요양병원 및 재활 병원이 급증함에 따라 고령환자의 관리를 효과적으로 스마트케어 기술 개발이 활발해지고 있다. 최근 병원기관에서 환자관리에 대한 중요성이 점차 증가하고 있는 시점에서 거동이 불편한 환자의 관리는 중요한 이슈이다. 본 논문에서는 고령환자의 분노상태를 감지와 모니터링을 통해 신속하게 대처하기 위한 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 제안한 시스템은 다양한 병원 기관에서 고령환자 관리를 위한 해결 방안이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

Objectives: This study aimed to find out the origin, efficiency in sasang constitutional medicine and dosage of Mu tong. Methods: Investigation and analysis was been done through 15 literatures like the pharmacopoeia of the five countries in east Asia, the literatures about sasang constitutional medicine and so on. Results and conclusion: The species of Mu tong in Korea is identical with the Mu tong in China, but different from Chuan mu tong and Guan mu tong in China. Mu tong is a kind of medicine using by kidney can be use at most 12 qian (about 45g) a day when treating heat closing in small intestine, edema, headache, dysentery and difficult urination on Soyangin(SY).

Urodynamics describes a collection of tests designed to evaluate lower urinary tract function and can be performed using retrograde filling of the bladder within a room. In this study, we designed and calibrated the potable urodynamics monitoring system using DSP chip (TMS320VC33, Texas Instrument$^{TM}$, U.S.) and collected pressure and EMG using calibration kit (DPT9022K0122, Medtronics$^{TM}$, U.S.). This system can make patients more comportable and monitor spontaneous urination during daily life.

Two dogs were presented urinary disorder in the associated with urolithiasis. Clinical signs were increased frequency of urination with mild straining pollakiuria, general depression and anorexia. On physical examinations, the pain was revealed at the palpation of the urethral area. Urinalysis showed high specific gravity, high pH, and triple phosphates. Radiography showed an increased radiopacity, and ultrasonography showed hyperecho in the just behind of os penis. Urolithiasis was diagnosed on the basis of clinical signs, radiography, and ultrasonography. In the prescrotal urethrotomy, urethra on the midline was incised and uroliths were eliminated. After elimination of uroliths, incision area was closed with 4-0 synthetic absorbable suture. In postoperative, there was good prognosis without hemorrhage, inflammation, and urethral stricture.

Backgroud and Purpose ; I intented to be helpful to treat diabetes through a clinical study of effect of soyangin Yangkyuksanwha-tang(凉膈散火湯). Methods : I studied 5 patients with upper diabetes who were diagnosed by Soyangin at department of Sasang constitutional Medicine in Dongeui Oriental Hospital during 1 year from August. 2001 to July. 2002. and then I investigated the clinical symptoms of the diabetics and analyzed level of examination after administration of Yangkyuksanwha-tang. Results and Conclusion ; Yangkyuksanwha-tang was administered to five diabetic patients, So-yang-in for 8 weeks. The symptoms such as frequent urination(P<0.05), thirst with frequent drinking water(P<0.01) have improved after the treatment. As results, level of FBS(P<0.01), total protein(P<0.05) and blood pressure(P<0.05) significantly decreased after administration of Yangkyuksanwha-tang.
