Resident Involvement Analysis of New Town Landscape Architecture Construction - Focused on the Gyeonggi GwangGyo District - (택지개발지구 조경공사의 주민관여 분석 - 경기도 광교지구를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve interaction with the construction subject by analyzing the contents and contents of users' involvement in landscaping works. For this purpose, this study selected the Gwanggyo Residential Land Development District Public Landscape Project in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. For four years before and after the completion, the opinions of tenants were used as research data. Both qualitative and quantitative analyses of 412 complaints received by the project implementation office and local government were conducted. As a result, first, the main purpose of suggesting opinions was 'demanding and expressing complaints', and there were many 'parks' and 'rivers'. In terms of content, "quality" was the most pointed out, but many kinds of trees, such as tree planting, ecological river construction, and pavement construction were also mentioned. Second, the extraction of key words from content analysis was the most common method. Followed by 'additional foodstuff' and 'moving to the toilet and management building'. Much of the point of view about dead wood has continued to be conspicuous in the process of waiting to be dealt with at the time of transplanting. Third, the validity of the contents of the complaints was evaluated as a five - point scale. Therefore, the opinions raised were unreasonable, but overall, there were more complaints with certain objectivity.

  • The current land development cost price system is classified as the creating land by construction price and composition changes that occur sporadically in the process of completion at the source of the factors by incurred cost price. Housing for land cost price system is a lack of objectivity which scheme of the such a gap due to the land in accordance construction and incurred cost price system so far. Therefore, in order to increase the objectivity of costing the costing of predictable surprises should be reflected in the process. Under such a background, this study defined the effective differential ratio as the predictable, estimated them for various characteristics of each business district to reflect. For this, set the properties category of five types to attributes and making the complex category and Look-up table. Which result of model validation is showed a high reliability. Therefore, Continuous accumulation of material in the future, when them to reflect the construction cost, will contribute to the bridge the gap the construction cost between incurred them.

Exploring Residential Segregation through Spatial Concentration Index - as a case of Seoul Metropolitan Area - (집중지표 기법을 활용한 수도권 주거지 분리에 대한 실증적 접근)

  • In order to solve the problem of how to estimate the residential segregation, the Spatial Concentration Index(SCI) and Location quotient(LQ) are able to be one of alternative methods, and a comprehensive analysis of the residential segregation phenomenon in the seoul metropolitan area is the aim of the study. The results of SCI show that residential concentration areas in low-rent are some Gyeonggi-do's downtown(Bucheon-si, Suwon-si) as well as rural and urban-rural complex outskirts of the metropolitan area. The results of changing of SCI from 2011 to 2014, downward changes appeared thirteen districts and upward changes appeared fourteen districts. Especially downward change district was Sosa-gu, Bucheon-si and upward change district was Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si. In conclusion, that high rent level groups are more concentration on specific area than low rent level groups. By decreasing residential concentration districts in low-rent level group, 'diversity' districts have been increasing in seoul metropolitan but the phenomenon of residential concentration in high and low level group have been being intensified. These results could be confirmed by quantitative through LQ. Methodologically LQ would strengthen the explanatory power of SCI, and ongoing research of SCI in conjunction with other quantitative methods will need.

A Comparative Study of Landscape Design Competitions' Guidelines and Entry Plans -The Case of Winning Design Proposals for Urban Infrastructure of the Hangdong Bogeumjari Housing District- (조경현상설계지침과 출품작의 내용관계 비교 -항동 보금자리주택지구 도시기반시설공모 입상작을 중심으로-)

  • This study is aimed at the improvement of administrative operations of landscape design competitions and qualitative enhancement of design quality by mutually comparing the guidelines and entry plans. The case targeted for the current study is landscape design proposals for the Seoul Hangdong Bogeumjari Housing District recently launched within a greenbelt zone in the outskirts of Seoul. The study examines from a critical perspective the design guidelines and the contents of the three winning design proposals with a focus on whether or not they have reflected the guidelines. It was observed that many provisions of the principles and conceptual guidelines which serve as clues to the designs for winning designs proposals show the direction in which the project is to be headed It was also observed that the provisions and the way they are expressed are intertwined, while, at the same time, the guidelines were not organized or developed in an orderly manner. Such a structural pattern of the guidelines is linked to the aspects of the contents of the winning design proposals as described in the following. It is observed that guidelines related to the direction in which the design to be headed are so regulatory and lengthy that they are overly standardized. This could make it difficult to read the possibility of the alternative shifts in the winning design proposals. At the same time, the attributes of winning design proposals themselves, which require observable discriminatory superiority, could serve as a factor causing excess of meanings by jumping on the bandwagon of naming. On the contrary, where autonomy of design is guaranteed or no guidelines are provided for the winning design proposals, discriminatory differences were observed, thereby making it easy to measure them This illustrates well that guidelines and structural format should be provided through a separate undertaking that has taken into careful consideration environmental traits of the site in question, objectives required and so forth.

Relation among Mineral (Ca, P, Fe, Na, K,Zn) Intakes, Blood Pressure, and Blood Lipids in Korean Adults (일부 성인남녀의 무기질 (Ca, P, Fe, Na, K, Zn) 섭취와 혈압 및 혈중 지질과의 관련성)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation among mineral intakes, blood pressure, and blood lipids for health management of Korean adults over 20 years old. Subjects were recruited from the district where they lived, which included rural (Yoju, n = 137) , coastal (Taean, n = 100) , and urban district (Suwon, n : 117) . hnthropornekical measurement, blood pressure measurement, dietary intake assessment using 24-hour recall method, and blood collection and analysis of blood lipids were conducted. The average age, height, weight, and BMI were 54.1 years, 168.5 cm, 67.3 kg, and 24.5 kg/$m^{2}$ for men and 53.9 years,153.8 cm,59.2 kg, and 25.0 kg/$m^{2}$ for women, respectively. The mean daily intakes of total food and energy were 1219.1 g and 1740.9 kcal for men and 1071.3 g and 1432.6 kcal for women. The mineral intakes of men and women were 448.5 mg and 400.4 mg for calcium,955.3 mg and 803.7 mg for phosphorus, 13.3 mg and 11.1 mg for iron, 4302.8 mg and 3393.3 mg for sodium,2588.0 mg and 2264.9 mg for potassium, and 8.9 mg and 7.3 mg for zinc. The daily intakes of energy, calcium, zinc, vitamin $B_{2}$, and vitamin I were $76.1\%$, $60.1\%$, $73.1\%$, $68.6\%$, and $80.4\%$ of RDAs, respectively. The intakes of energy, calcium, zinc, vitamin $B_{2}$ and I were not meet Korean RDAs. Especially, calcium, zinc, and vitamin $B_{2}$ were less than $75\%$ of RDAs. Blood pressure of the subjects was 128.3/75.5 mmHg for men and 124.1/73.7 mmHg for women. Serum lipids of men and women were 180.2 mg/dL and 184.9 mg/dL for total cholesterol, 160.8 mg/dL and 137.6 mg/dL for triglyceride,41.5 mg/dL and 44.7 mg/dL for HDL-cholesterol,106.6 mg/dL and 112.7 mg/dL for LDL-cholesterol, and 3.5 and 3.3 for atherogenic index. While serum triglyceride and AI of men was significantly higher, HDL-cholesterol was lower than those of women. In the relation among mineral intakes, blood pressure, and serum lipids, we found a significantly negative correlation of intakes of calcium, calcium/phosphorus, calcium density with systolic blood pressure. There were significantly negative correlation between intake of calcium/phosphorus and serum cholesterol, calcium density and serum cholesterol, sodium intake and serum HDL-cholesterol. Based on these results, we concluded that high intakes of calcium, calcium/phosphorus and low sodium intake were associated with favorable blood pressure and serum lipid profiles in adult men and women. Measuring Equal Weighted Voting to the Local Council Elections and the Apportionment: Focusing the 4th to the 6th Metropolitan Council Elections (지방의회 선거의 표의 등가성 측정과 선거구획정: 제4-6회 시·도의회의원 선거를 중심으로)

  • This article measures equal weighted voting to evaluate the fairness of a redistricting system operated in the $4^{th}$ to the $6^{th}$ metropolitan council elections using a new index. The cosine square index using in the article would be useful on what we see the ratio of the equality of population among metropolitan regions and the fairness of the whole electoral system, along with its simple calculation. The results of the fairness of the $4^{th}$ to the $6^{th}$ metropolitan council elections calculated by the cosine square index are as follow: Because the $4^{th}$ metropolitan council election uniformly elects two members for each electoral district regardless of the size of the population, it has a low equality of population between districts. But as a result of the decision of the Constitutional Court in 2007, standard of population variation in electoral district has been strengthened to 4 : 1 from the $5^{th}$ metropolitan council election. It increases significantly equality of population between districts from the $5^{th}$ metropolitan council election. But in the elections from the $4^{th}$ to the $6^{th}$ metropolitan council elections, Rural electoral districts continuously show the lowest equality of population between districts. It also shows the growing disparity between urban and rural areas as well as between capital and non-capital. This paper emphasizes that electoral apportionment in local council elections should reflect regional diversity and community identity.

  • This study analyses the historical and cultural streets at Pinggang Road in the city of Suzhou, by understanding the development and conservation of the area, and uses the following ways to investigate its development, re-organization, and current state. This paper comprehensively compares, collates and investigates 4 different historical and cultural areas in Insadong and Samcheong-dong in South Korea, and South Luogu Lane in China. From initial research and analysis, this paper gathers the cultural, economic, and societal perspectives as non-physical measures, and spatial structure, road structure, and building maintenance as physical factor framework. It is significant in that it can provide an evaluation model for the preservation and regeneration of historical and cultural streets by presenting the viewpoint of complex development of non-physical and physical elements in Pyeonggang-ro. In addition, it is necessary to conduct optimization and specific research on insufficient areas, such as maintenance and development of programs and signature systems for visitors, and continuous development of historical and cultural network platforms by combining on-site surveys. Basic data should be provided for reference on the street.

A Case Study of 'Lesson Study' in an U.S. School: As an Alternative Model for Teacher-led School Reform (미국의 레슨 스터디 실행 사례 연구: 교사주도의 학교 교육개혁의 대안적 모델)

  • This article presents a one and half-year process of Lesson Study conducted at a K-8 school in an urban district in the eastern U.S. Lesson Study, a Japanese form of professional development that centers on collaborative study of live classroom lessons, has spread rapidly in the U.S. since 1999 and has been argued as a promising alternative model for teacher-led school reform through professional development. The Lesson Study group described here was composed of five teachers, one administrator, and one instructional improvement coordinator belonging to the participant school and two instructional super-intendants from the school district. Data was collected from October 2007 to February 2009 and a qualitative case study method was employed for this study. Drawing a case of Lesson Study, this article intended to show how Lesson Study group members participated in planning, teaching, observing, discussing, and improving lessons collaboratively for student learning by enhancing teacher professional competence so that find directions for future implementation in Korea. This article investigates (1) process of Lesson Study, (2) issues Lesson Study group members mainly dealt with, and (3) changes have taken place in Lesson Study as it is conducted over time. (4) Finally, this article concludes with challenges to adopting Lesson Study successfully in Korea.

Opportunity or Threat?: Case Study of an Arts Entrepreneur Responding to Gentrification (위협인가 기회인가? 젠트리피케이션에 대응하는 예술기업가 연구 - 문래문화살롱 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • Gentrification is the process by which a working class or other disadvantaged area of a city changes into a middle class residential or commercial district. Gentrification, which has received much attention in arts management in recent years as part of a concern with urban regeneration, carries a generally negative connotation. In this paper, we interrogate this negative view of gentrification to explore ways arts entrepreneurship can convert the perceived threat of gentrification into opportunity. To this end, we examine the Mullae Cultural Salon in the gentrifying district of the Mullae Creative Village. Through a literature review of gentrification and arts entrepreneurship, we propose seven elements of art entrepreneurs responding to gentrification as an analytic framework for research. Our findings indicate that arts entrepreneurs were able to extend the maturity phase of gentrification and thus enhance the cultural and artistic value of the region for other artists and arts entrepreneurs.

A Study of a Correlation Between Groundwater Level and Precipitation Using Statistical Time Series Analysis by Land Cover Types in Urban Areas (시계열 분석법을 이용한 도시지역 토지피복형태에 따른 지하수위와 강수량의 상관관계 분석)

  • Land-use/cover change caused by rapid urbanization in South Korea is one of the concerns in flood risk management because groundwater recharge by precipitation hardly occurs due to an increase in impermeable surfaces in urban areas. This study investigated the hydrologic effects of land-use/cover on groundwater recharge in the Yeonje-gu district of Busan, South Korea. A statistical time series analysis was conducted with temporal variations of precipitation and groundwater level to estimate lag-time based on correlation coefficients calculated from auto-correlation function (ACF), cross-correlation function (CCF), and moving average (MA) at five sites. Landform and land-use/cover within 250 m radius of the monitoring wells(GW01, GW02, GW03, GW04, and GW05) at five sites were identified by land cover and digital map using Arc-GIS software. Long lag-times (CCF: 42-71 days and MA: 148-161 days) were calculated at the sites covered by mainly impermeable surfaces(GW01, GW03, and GW05) while short lag-times(CCF: 4 days and MA: 67 days) were calculated at GW04 consisting of mainly permeable surfaces. The results suggest that lag-time would be one of the good indicators to evaluate the effects of land-use/cover on estimating groundwater recharge. The results of this study also provide guidance on the application of statistical time series analysis to environmentally important issues on creating an urban green space for natural groundwater recharge from precipitation in the city and developing a management plan for hydrological disaster prevention.
