대전지역 성인의 연령별 식이섬유소와 지방 섭취 실태 (Dietary Fiber and Fat Intakes Related to Age in Adults Living in Taejon City)

  • This study was performed to investigate the variation in dietary fiber and fat intakes, and the contribution of food groups to dietary fiber and fat consumption in relation to age and to examine the relationship between dietary fiber and fat intakes in 337 urban adults aged 20-49 year. Dietary intakes were evaluated with one-day 24-hour recall and two-day dietary record method. Significantly higher intakes of fat in males and saturated fatty acid, monounsaturated fatty acid, polyunsaturated fatty acid, and cholesterol in females were associated with younger age. The ratio of fat to the total energy intake slightly exceeded 20% at 20s and 30s in both males and females. The main source of dietary fiber was vegetables in all age groups of males and 30s of females, but grains in 20s and 40s of females. The main source of fat was meats in all age groups of males and 40s of females, but grains in 20s and 30s in females. The main source of cholesterol was eggs in both males and females. Dietary fiber intake was positively correlated with all fat-related parameters except cholesterol in 20s and 40s and was positively related with fat in 30s of males. For females dietary fiber intake was positively correlated with polyunsaturated fatty acid in 20s and with monounsaturated fatty acid and polyunsaturated fatty acid in 40s. These findings show that there is considerable variation in intake of dietary fiber and fat in relation to age among adults and suggest that these factors should be considered at interventions aimed toward improvement of nutritional status.

대규모 프로스포츠시설 입지에 따른 도시특성요인 비교분석 (Comparing Factors of Urban Characteristics according to Location of Large Professional Sports Facilities)

  • 본 연구는 프로스포츠시설의 입지 유무에 따른 도시특성차이 및 결정요인 분석을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 228개 시군구를 대상으로 도시별 특성을 사회 경제 문화 교통 공간특성으로 구분한 뒤 t-검정 및 이항로지스틱모형을 이용해 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과 프로스포츠시설 입지의 주요 결정요인은 경제적 여건, 프로스포츠시설의 운영과 관련된 인구, 교통여건 등으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 입지도시는 교통결절지로 일정한 구매력을 갖춘 청장년층이 많고 입지를 위한 대규모 토지가 형성되어 있다는 특징과 함께 일정수준 이상의 도시로서의 기능을 가지고 있는 곳일 가능성이 더 높아진다는 결론이 도출되었다. 최근 각 지방정부는 관중이 유입됨으로써 지역경제를 활성화시킬 수 있고, 반영구적인 시설이용을 통해 긍정적인 파급효과를 누릴 수 있으며, 이를 통해 도시경쟁력 향상이 기대될 수 있다는 점에서 대규모 프로스포츠시설 유치에 관심을 두고 있다. 본 연구결과는 도시경쟁력 향상에 대한 대안으로써 대규모 프로스포츠시설 유치정책이 지방정부의 매력적인 선택이 될 수 있다는 시사점을 제공하고 있다.

  • 본 연구는 2014년도에 질병관리본부가 직접 자료 수집한, 제6기 국민건강영양조사의 2차 년도 원시자료를 이용한 2차 분석연구로, 본 연구의 목적은 도시와 농촌의 골관절염 환자의 건강관련 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인을 비교하기 위함이다. 연구대상자는 50세 이상 골관절염 환자 599명이다. 연구결과, 도시 골관절염 환자 건강관련 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인은 의료보장형태, 무릎관절통, 무릎강직, 엉덩관절통, 요통, 활동제한, 주관적 건강상태로 나타났다. 반면 농촌 골관절염 환자 건강관련 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인은 무릎관절통, 활동제한, 음주로 나타났다. 연구결과를 바탕으로, 도시와 농촌의 골관절염 환자에게 공통적으로 접근할 수 있는 중재전략과 차별화 할 중재 전략을 구분하여 골관절염 환자에 대한 지역사회 재활 프로그램 및 건강관련 삶의 질 증진 방안을 마련하여야 할 것이다.

Differences in Oral Health Status between Rural and Urban Populations of Korean Elders: A Population-Based Study from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey VI (2013~2015)

  • Background: Edentulism is associated with socioeconomic status, rural residence, and chronic disease, but no studies have investigated edentulism and residence factors together. All information that drives a better understanding of the factors related to edentulism plays an important role in the planning and delivery of appropriate dental services for the elderly by national and oral health professionals. This study was designed to investigate the prevalence of edentulism in adults aged over 60 years in Korea and to examine whether there are differences in dentate status between people living in urban and rural areas after controlling for sociodemographic and other related factors. Methods: The data for this study were collected from 2013 to 2015 as part of the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey VI, those individuals aged over 60 years and who had complete datasets were included (5,071). The number of teeth and residence status were categorized into two groups: edentate and dentate (1 or more); urban and rural. Multiple multivariate logistic regression analyses were sequentially applied to assess the association between dentate status and residence status after adjusting for potential confounders. Results: Rural areas, lower household income, and lower education levels were associated with a higher edentate rate. The number of teeth was lower in rural areas than in urban areas. After adjusting for various factors, statistically significant associations were present for women, low household income, low education level, poor perceived health status, and alcohol consumption in participants. Conclusion: Elders living in rural areas had poorer oral health than elders living in urban areas. The government will need to provide effective systems for promoting oral health for elders living in rural areas.

도시지역 성인의 농촌치유관광 음식 특성 선호도 조사 (Survey on Food Characteristic Preferences for Rural Healing Tourism for Adults in Urban Areas)

  • This study was conducted to investigate food needs for dining out in the context of rural healing tourism by surveying food preference characteristics. A total of 600 adults in an urban area completed an online questionnaire on food characteristics for rural healing tourism. Regarding the purpose of rural healing tourism, 61.2% of respondents answered 'relaxation' while 6.3% answered 'promotion of health'. Exactly 66.3% of respondents selected Korean foods (rice) as the preferable food type for dining out in the context of rural healing tourism. Respondents considered 'regionality' and 'ingredient' as more important among food quality characteristics, whereas 'professionality' was less important. Females perceived 'nutrition' and 'cooking' as more important than males. Among food characteristics of professionality, regionality, and traditionality, respondents most preferred 'using regional specialty food'. Preference for 'using traditional food' significantly increased with subject's age. Respondents rated 'balanced nutrition' most highly among food characteristics of health and nutrition. 'Seasonal food' was the most preferred food characteristic among cooking and ingredients. Females showed higher interest in nutrition, cooking, and ingredients and higher preferences related to food characteristics of nutrition, cooking, and ingredients than males. In conclusion, Korean foods (rice) or Korean full course menu items using local specialty foods or seasonal foods with balanced nutrition are needed for dining out in the context of rural healing tourism.

일개 도시 지역사회 간호센터 모형개발을 위한 요구조사 (A Study on Model Development for Urban Community Nursing Center)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify basic health needs of adult clients to develop a community nursing center model in Seoul. Methods: Data were collected using a questionnaire survey from 894 adults registered at a public health center who were health management members, and visiting 4 community nursing centers, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee during the period from July 1999 to January 2000. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentile, t-test, and ANOVA. Results: 1) The University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee School of Nursing has a long tradition of developing 4 community nursing centers with innovative health care programs. CNCs integrate the ability to implement and test effective intervention strategies with education, research, and practices of nursing students and faculty. They were designed to enhance the health status and quality of life for urban communities through the development of productive, outcome focused, collaborative partnerships among UWM-Nursing faculties and staff, other health and human service providers, consumers, and policy makers. It links the financial resources between UWM and 9 voluntary agencies and 12 public funding organizations including federal. state, and local governments. 2) Of the total health management members, 37.4% were reported to have at least one type of chronic disease such as hypertension, diabetes, and arthritis. Ten percent of them reported having obesity, and 44.2% reported lack of exercise. The health status of the subjects was within normal range in laboratory tests. However, female subjects showed more significant differences in obesity and cholesterol levels than male subjects. The subjects, who were in their 50s, showed more significant differences in obesity, SGOT, SGPT, and cholesterol levels than the subjects in other age groups. Conclusion: A community nursing center needs to be developed, that has a link between the nursing college and the public health center, with partnerships and a multidisciplinary approach. Based on the study results, exercise programs for middle aged adults are considered necessary. In particular, specific exercise programs for pre-menopausal women needs to be implemented in the future to prevent them from developing osteoporosis.

A Cross-Cultural Investigation of Adults' Formation of Sense of Community through Environmental Autobiography

  • In contemporary Korean society, urban community environment is often associated with high-density and high-rise residences that make people's relationships superficial, instrumental and impersonal. Furthermore, urban community consistently interplays with neighboring residents and childhood emotional experience are influential on their unconscious images and attitude about their current neighborhood environment, while affecting the environmental attitude and the formation of community sense. Previous research found evidences that increased level of community sense is fostering more feeling of living in so-called "real neighborhood environment." This study aimed to cross-culturally examine what the respondents' emotional perception and their attitude were about the community environment in their childhood through environmental autobiography method and to examine the effects of the results on adults' formation of sense of community for their current community environment. Extensive literature review explored a few important theoretical framework which are closely related to sense of community (SOC) as a result of emotional experience: membership, influence, integration and fulfillment of needs, shared emotional connection and community satisfaction. Chi-square and GLM analysis revealed that there were no demographic, and socio-economic differences between two groups of Korean and US residents. Correlation analysis indicated that childhood emotional experience of Koreans and US citizens was statistically significant on sense of community for their current living community. Multi-regression analysis also found that the degree of influence were the main predictors for building strong sense of current community throughout a cross-cultural group. Furthermore, the relationship between various emotional experience of each factor in previous and current community environment were statistically significantly related. It is concluded that as the positive childhood experience of influence in their past community was going up, the level of sense of community for their current community was strengthened across their cross-cultural background.

도시지역 성인의 식습관 및 식생활 의식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Eating Habits and Dietary Consciousness of Adults in Urban Area)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the eating habits and dietary consciousness of urban residents according to socioeconomic characteristics. The survey was administered by the nationwide 690 adults in February 2001. The survey was conducted by a questionnaire that was composed of 20 items. The results of this study show that 56.8% of the subjects had breakfast everyday and majority of them ate cooked rice (57.4%) or rice with mixed grain and bean (33.0%) as stable food for breakfast. 73.6% of the subjects ate out less than 5 times a month and, most of them preferred Korean dishes to Western dishes. The majority of the subjects had a meal regularly and they ate dinner abundantly with gusto compared to breakfast and lunch. Mean values of preference (5 point scales) for snack, salty and hot taste, and processed food were 3.07±0.89, 2.75±0.83, 3.28±0.90, 2.69±0.84 respectively. Interest (4 point scales) in eating safe and fresh food, balanced diet, and overeating calorieㆍsugarㆍsaltㆍfat were 3.26±0.66, 2.83±0.70, 2.89±0.75, respectively. As the purpose of eating, 44.8% of the subjects placed emphasis to supply nutrition but 16.6% put emphasis on physiologic desire. About half of the subjects needed to change their own eating habits. As improvement of their eating habits, the majority of them answered ‘balanced diet’. There were significant differences in eating habits and dietary consciousness of the subjects by socioeconomic characteristics. As the age goes down and education level goes up, they had wrong eating habits generally. For occupation, housewives had right eating habits but students were not. For interest in food and nutrition, male, 20' age-group, students and over college graduation group were worse than the other groups within each socioeconomic characteristic. Consequently, nutrition education for them is needed preferentially, also their socioeconomic characteristics must be considered in nutrition education.

성별ㆍ지역간 사회교육 기회격차에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Opportunity level of Adult Education by Gender and Regions)

  • Education has been emphasized as one of tools of realizing social equality, which has its base on the ideology of equal education opportunity. The Opportunity level of adult education is important in the meaning of social equality. but these days It is being inequality. so The objectives of this study were 1) measuring the opportunity level of adult education in Korea, 2) analysing the difference adult education level by gender, regions, 3) making out the gap of the its level by social educational agencies, 4) to suggest the way to improve the opportunity level of adults educations between adults by gender, regions. The followings are the results from the study: Adult education participation level were lower. Adult education participation level per adult education type showed higher participation at private institutes, lower at cultural center of community and school's human and material resources are not properly utilized in adult educational activities. By adult education participation level per gender and location, women have a higher participation level then men, and urban areas have a higher participation level then rural areas. In case of location, environment variables is most explanatory in adult education participation level. To strive for methods to activate school-oriented adult education activities and to develop political solution to ease the resources gaps for adult education investment among regions in order not to deepen environment gaps of adult education between urban and rural areas. For adult education activation, institution and bodies in charge of adult education should expand and discover hardware and develop and distribute software. Also, adult education specialists who operate and manage these hardware and sofeware efficiently should be recruited.

도시지역 직장남성의 식습관에 관한 연구 (A Study on Eating Habits of Businessmen in Urban Areas)

  • 도시지역(대구, 구미, 영천, 창원)에 거주하는 직장남성 420명을 대상으로 식생활에 영향을 주는 요인들과 식습관에 대하여 조사하였다. 인구통계학적 변인들과 식습관의 관계에서 직업(p<0.001)과 연령(p<0.01)이 높은 유의성을 나타내었다. 전문직, 관리직, 판매직 등의 직업은 식습관이 "좋다"라는 반응이 많이 나타났으나 사무직에서 "나쁘다"라는 반응이 많이 나타났다. 연령에 있어서 청년층보다 장년층이 식습관에 대한 관심도가 높았으며 주거형태, 배우자의 직업 유무, 월수입도 상당한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 식생활 태도 및 건강상태를 나타내는 변인들과 식습관과의 연관성은 하루 평균 식사횟수, 평소 운동상태, 수면상태, 피로감과 생활리듬, 식사 후 소화상태, 건강상태 등에서 상호 높은 유의성(p<0.001)을 나타내어 식생활 태도와 건강상태가 식습관에 깊은 영향을 준다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
