  • Two perforated plates are used to investigate local heat/mass transfer characteristics in an impingement/effusion cooling system. A naphthalene sublimation method is conducted to determine the local heat/mass transfer coefficients on the upward facing surface of the effusion plate. The two plates are placed in parallel position with gap distances of 1, 2, 4 and 6 times of effusion hole diameter. The effects of hole arrangements of the plates are studied for staggered, square, and hexagonal arrays. The experiments are conducted at Reynolds number of 10,000 based on the effusion hole diameter. The results show that the smaller hole size in the staggered array has the higher transfer coefficients on the stagnation region due to the formation of higher momentum flows through the impingement holes. In the square array, heat/mass transfer on the target plate is more uniform as the number of impingement holes increases. High and uniform heat/mass transfer coefficients are obtained in the hexagonal array.

Comparative Analysis of Surface Heat Fluxes in the East Asian Marginal Seas and Its Acquired Combination Data

  • Eight different data sets are examined in order to gain insight into the surface heat flux traits of the East Asian marginal seas. In the case of solar radiation of the East Sea (Japan Sea), Coordinated Ocean-ice Reference Experiments ver. 2 (CORE2) and the Objectively Analyzed Air-Sea Fluxes (OAFlux) are similar to the observed data at meteorological stations. A combination is sought by averaging these as well as the Climate Forecast System Reanalysis (CFSR) and the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP)-1 data to acquire more accurate surface heat flux for the East Asian marginal seas. According to the Combination Data, the annual averages of net heat flux of the East Sea, Yellow Sea, and East China Sea are -61.84, -22.42, and $-97.54Wm^{-2}$, respectively. The Kuroshio area to the south of Japan and the southern East Sea were found to have the largest upward annual mean net heat flux during winter, at -460- -300 and at $-370--300Wm^{-2}$, respectively. The long-term fluctuation (1984-2004) of the net heat flux shows a trend of increasing transport of heat from the ocean into the atmosphere throughout the study area.

  • 선박에서 발생되는 밸러스트수를 처리하기 위하여 수중에 포함되어 있는 미생물을 북극전해처리시스템을 이용하여 살균처리 하였다. 전해처리시스템에 유입되는 시료는 정량펌프를 사용하여 상향류로 전극판 사이를 통과하도록 하였으며, 반응시간별로 유량을 조절하여 체류시간을 다르게 하였다. 양극판은 티타늄에 이산화이리듐을 전착한 Ti/IrO$_2$ 극판으로 하였으며, 음극판은 스테인리스 스틸판을 사용하였다. 전원공급은 최대 전압이 250V, 전류가 100Amper의 맥류가 전혀 없는 트랜지스트 평활회로를 사용한 D.C. Power Supply를 사용하여 전류밀도를 조절하여 운전하였다. 반응시간에 따라 전류밀도를 0.1~l.0A사이로 변화를 주어 실험한 결과 5초 이내에 대부분의 미생물이 사멸됨을 확인 할 수 있었고 연구결과를 통하여 발라스트수 처리에 적용 가능한 기술임을 알 수 있었다.

  • 지하철 역사 화재는 다수의 인명피해를 동반한 대구 지하철사고 이후 지하철 차량 내장재, 지하역사의 제연 시스템과 승객이 지상으로 탈출하기 위해 필요한 피난시간 등과 같은 기존 시스템에 대한 적정성 논란을 가져왔다. 기존의 제연설비는 화재 시배기 용량과 역사 시설구조의 복잡성으로 인한 제어방법의 한계가 따른다. 특히 지하철 역사 화재는 지중에서 지상으로 대피하는 형태로서 이는 부력으로 인한 연기의 이동방향과 피난방향이 같아지게 되므로 피난자들이 일반화재보다도 더욱 많은 연기의 영향에 노출되어져 버리는 결과가 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 하향식 피난 동선을 설계하여 피난완료시간의 단축 및 연기 층으로부터 피난자들을 격리시켜 희생자를 줄일 수 있는 방안을 제안하였다.

  • 대도시에서의 공사는 외부방향이 아닌 상부로 진행되기 때문에 현장의 벽면 움직임은 매우 중요하다. 고층 구조물은 주차장을 위한 여분의 공간 확보뿐 아니라 건물의 잠재적 침하를 줄이기 위하여 일반적으로 깊은 굴착을 수반한다. 이러한 대형 굴착은 깊은 심도에 따른 횡방향 지중압력에 견디기 위한 견고한 브레이싱 시스템을 필요로 한다. 벽체 움직임은 잠재적인 인접 구조물의 침하를 허용하기 때문에 sheetpile 이나 diaphragm wall과 같은 옹벽구조물의 변형을 예측하는 방법은 매우 중요하다. 사례들을 분석하고 측정된 벽체 변형은 경험적 도표로부터 예측된 값들과 비교되었다.

세포 침전장치를 이용한 하아브리도마 세포의 고농도 배양 (High Density Culture of Hybridima Using Cell sedimentation System)

  • 하이브리도마 세포를 고농도 배양하기 위하여 세포 침전장치를 고안하여 사용하였다. 위로 올라갈수록 직경이 넓어지는 침전조는 세포의 침전이 잘 일어나지만 침전된 세포가 침전조 벽에 누적되는 결점을 보였고, 아래 위의 직경이 균일한 침전조는 희석율이 높아질수록 유출되는 세포가 증가하는 문제점을 나타내었다. 특히 유출되는 세포속에는 dead cell 보다 viable cell의 비율이 높아 배양기 내의 dead cell이 급격히 농축되는 현상을 보였다. 그러나 침전조를 적절히 고안하여 세포 누적 현상을 막고 동시에 세포 유출을 완화시킬 경우 세포농도 $5{\times}10^6$ cells/ ml에서 일주일간 배양이 가능했다. cell viability의 측정이 용이하므로 침전조를 이용한 하이브리도마 고농도 배양의 특성을 연구하는데 많은 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • The research are performed to check the characteristics of the ice slurry transport system for the district cooling. The system are installed at the 1st floored building which is as large as the $1204\;m^2$ ($86\;m{\times}14\;m$), and the pumping power and branching characteristics are measured by transporting of the ice slurry. The ice slurry transporting pipe is as long as 200 m. For the same cooling load, the higher IPF is, the lower the transporting flow rate and the pumping power are. But when the IPF is higher than 15%, no less decrease of the pumping power does happen. For the branching characteristics, through the branch pipe where the flow resistance is higher, the higher IPF is measured. A little higher IPF is measured at the thermal expansion branch.

이벤트 행사장의 안전관리 (Safety Management of Event Place)

  • Global(mega) event has increased throughout the 1990s, with the biggest surge occurring in the Asia-Pacific region. Along with this upward trend, competition for more desirable tourists is also surging, so destinations cannot be complacent (Getz, 1997). Event is appearing as the powerful method in the fierce competition around the industry. International events like 99 Hanam Environment Expo have been held annually in Korea since 1991 in which the local government system started. The main roles of event are to enhance the image of communities and attract tourists (Kotler and Haider and Rein, 1993), to strengthen destination attractiveness as drawing power (Mill and Morrison, 1985), and so on. Focused on the destination image, the research (Sirakaya and Sheppard and McLellan, 1997) about the effect of perceived safety at a potential vacation destination showed that destination marketers, travel agents, and hospitality industry members should be concerned with improving their images when such images are negative with regard to safety. Event industry in Korea does not seriously recognize the importance of the safety management against accidents known for tarnishing the destination images. Moreover few safety standards or studies for event industry can be found. This paper investigated the safety factors considered by visitors of 99 Hanam Environment Expo and analyzed the correlation between the safety factors and the demographic characteristics of the visitors.

정상보행시 체중심의 수직 가속도 특성 (Characteristics of Vertical Acceleration at Center of Mass of the Body in Normal Gait)

  • In this study, vertical acceleration of center of mass was observed along normal gait phases in 9 healthy male volunteers (aged $25.7{\pm}2.18$). The developed wireless accelerometric device was attached on the intervertebral space between L3 and L4 using a semi-elastic waist belt. A three-dimensional motion analysis system, synchronized with the accelerometry, was used for detecting gait phases. There was no significant correlation between the body weight and the acceleration. The first peak curve covered loading response phase. The second downward peak point was matched accurately with the opposite toe-off. In mid-stance and terminal stance, the acceleration curve highly resembled the vertical ground reaction force curve. There was no significant difference in timing between the final upward peak point and the initial contact. Therefore, the developed accelerometry system would be helpful in determining determine temporal gait pattems in patients with gait disorders.
