  • Among the P2P based multimedia streaming architecture, multiple chain architecture has advantage in adapting to dynamically changing network topology simply and rapidly, so this architecture is used for UCC broadcasting system. In UCC broadcasting system, general peer involved in DSLAM becomes UCC server rather than broadcasting system that transfers data from ISP servers. Therefore UCC data generated from UCC server peers is transmitted to peers through DSLAM, and this transmission uses uplink bandwidth of DSLAM. In this paper, I propose an efficient management method of DSLAM uplink bandwidths through negotiating tracker and UCC server peer or head peers of DSLAM. I propose the method that tracker restricts a bitrate of uplink stream of UCC servers when used uplink bandwidth of DSLAM exceeds a certain point of maximum uplink bandwidths. I will show the improved performance of proposed scheme rather than general method with respect to the uplink bandwidth of DSLAM by numerical analysis and simulation.

  • In this paper, for a uplink space division multiple access system named cooperative spatial multiplexing(CSM), radio resource management(RRM) algorithms are proposed based on sharing uplink channel information among a serving base station(BS) and interfering BSs in a uplink coordinated wireless communication system. A constrained maximum transmit power algorithm is proposed for mobile station(MS) to limit uplink inter-cell interference(ICI). And joint scheduling algorithm among coordinated BSs is proposed to enhance uplink capacity through ICI mitigation by using channel information from interfering BSs. It is shown that the proposed RRM algorithm provides a considerable uplink capacity enhancement by effective ICI mitigation only with moderate complexity.

  • On the TDD system, the uplink and downlink transmission share the same frequency but are seperated in time. In this paper we just consider the uplink transmission. The BWA system in this paper should be accepted the adaptive modulation. Each uplink burst shall begin with an uplink preamble. The reception of an uplink burst is the most challenging from a synchronization perspective. The burst detection, power estimation, symbol synchronization and carrier synchronization should be obtained from the preamble. It will be shown in this paper, how can get a burst detection by preambles and extract the synchronization parameter from preamble.

  • Even though current LTE/LTE-A mobile networks provide enough high data rate and low latency to support conventional wireless services, to support ultra-low delay services, such as virtual reality and remote control, in the next generation mobile communication network, it is required to provide very low delay about several ms. However, in the uplink transmission of the LTE/LTE-A system, the process of scheduling grant is required to obtain uplink resources for uplink transmission from the eNB. The process of granting uplink resources from eNB brings additional fixed latency, which is one of the critical obstacles to achieve low delay in uplink transmissions. Thus, in this paper, we propose a novel uplink transmission scheme called Cut-in uplink transmission, to reduce uplink latency. We provide the performance of the proposed uplink transmission scheme through simulations and show the proposed uplink transmission scheme provides lower uplink transmission delay than conventional uplink transmission scheme in LTE/LTE-A mobile networks.

  • In this letter, we address the problem of resource allocation with efficiency and quality of service (QoS) support in uplink for a wireless CDMA network supporting real-time (RT) and non-realtime (NRT) communication services. For RT and NRT users, there are different QoS requirements. We introduce and describe a new scheme, namely, traffic aided uplink opportunistic scheduling (TAUOS). While guaranteeing the different QoS requirements, TAUOS exploits the channel condition to improve system throughput. In TAUOS, the cross-layer information, file size information, is used to improve fairness for NRT users. Extensive simulation results show that our scheme can achieve high system throughput in uplink wireless CDMA systems, while guaranteeing QoS requirements.

  • Future wireless communication systems are expected to provide a broad range of multimedia services in which the asymmetry of traffic load between uplink and downlink is a significant feature. The rode division multiple access system with tune division duplex mode (CDMA/TDD) is a good solution to cope with the traffic asymmetry problem. However. the TDD system is subject to inter-cell interference compared to frequency division duplex (FDD) system. Since both uplink and downlink share the same frequency in TDD. uplink and downlink may interfere each other especially when neighboring cells require different rates of asymmetry. Thus, time slot allocation for tells is an important issue in TDD. In this paper. we propose a genetic algorithm based time slot allocation scheme which maximizes the residual system capacity. The proposed scheme allows that each cell employ different level of uplink/downlink asymmetry and satisfies the interference requirement.

  • This letter proposes a handover ranging power adjustment scheme to improve handover performance. Incorrect ranging power can degrade handover performance due to the increased handover latency; therefore, the proposed scheme exploits the uplink channel information to adjust the uplink handover ranging power. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme reduces call outage probability by 33% compared to that of the conventional scheme. It also improves the number of users who satisfy the system requirements for handover interruption time.

  • There is a trend to replace TWTA of SSPA in S-Band uplink application for satellite operation. KARI developed l20W full S-Band SSPA system in early 2004. This paper covers SSPA system design and its test results. Through tests, nominal gain of 57dB, gain stability of +/-1dB over frequency, and gain stability of +/-0.5dB over temperature were shown. IMD value of -16.5dBc, -19dBc were revealed in PI and P3 output operations. With meeting specifications, l20W SSPA is expected to be used in operational S-Band uplink application.

  • Inter-cell coordination has been an emerging issue for mitigating inter-cell interference in broadband wireless access networks such as IEEE802.16 and 3GPP LTE (Long Term Evolution). This paper proposes uplink/downlink hybrid inter-cell coordination patterns for a TDD (Time Division Duplex)/MC-CDMA (Multi-Carrier Code Division Multiple Access) system. For the performance analysis, closed forms of inter-cell interferences are derived when uplink and downlink transmissions coexist over a multi-cell environment. In the analysis, we find an optimal ratio of downlink transmit powers of BSs (Base Stations) based on the target outage probability and the performance according to ratios of uplink/downlink transmit powers of MSs (Mobile Stations)/BSs is explored. Our numerical results show that interference mitigation utilizing the characteristics of the uplink and downlink power ratio is very effective in improving system performance in terms of QoS.

  • We investigate rate scheduling and power allocation problem for a delay constrained CDMA systems. Specifically, we determine an energy efficient scheduling policy, while each user maintains the short term (n time slots) average throughput. More importantly, it is shown that the optimal transmission strategy for the uplink is same as that of the downlink, called uplink and downlink duality. We then examine the performance of the optimum transmission strategy for the uplink and the downlink for various system environments.
