Unrecorded species from the beach at Gangnung City is reported: Cakile edentula, Brassicaceae. The genus Cakile is unrecorded in Korea and easily distinguished from other genera in Brassicaceae by the upper member of fruits distinctly longer or thicker than the lower part, petiole white or anthocyanic, style absent and leaves glabrous. The local name is Seo-yang-gaet-naeng-i and the morphological characters and illustrations of the species are provided.

The unrecorded plant, Aster hispidus var. leptocladus (Compositae), was reported from Mt. Palgong-san, Daegu-si, Korea and was named as 'Gin-ssuk-bu-jaeng-i' after its slender leaves. It is distinguished from var. hispidus by having glabrous linear cauline leaves with acute apex, small heads and involucre, short pappus in disc florets. It had been considered as Japanese endemic plant especially adapted to serpentine area.

Many higher fungi were collected at Mt.Sunun, Mt.Kangchon and Mt.Moak from June, 1991 to April, 2003. They were identified and surveyed with references. According to the result, Cordyceps clavata, C. cocciniocapite, C. ryougamimontanna, C. tuberculate J. moelleri and C. yakushimensis are unrecorded species to Korea. They were designed Korean common names by authors. Common names: Cordyceps clavata, C. cocciniocapite, C. ryougamimontanna, C. tuberculate f moelleri, C. yakushimensis, unrecorded species, common names.

While conducting a floristic study of Korean hepatics, we discovered two unrecorded species, which were collected from wind holes near the Donggang River, Korea. Mannia fragrans (Balb.) Frye & L. Clark and Mannia androgyna (L.) A. Evans are hereby reported for the first time in Korea. M. androgyna is characterized by pale grayish oil bodies in both the aerenchyma and basal tissue, and saccate spores with a conspicuous proximal disc. M. fragrans is characterized by a gynoecial segment with a whitish apical brush of scales, a commonly aromatic smell, and areolate spores with a conspicuous proximal disc. Two unrecorded species are described and illustrated based on Korean material.

One unrecorded species of Suaeda is found from the western and southern coast of Korea. The morphological characteristics and habitat of the plant are described. The species is distinguished from the other Korean species in the genus by its thin and broad leaves and the stellate shape of fruits.

We report an unrecorded species of Viburnum, V. japonicum (Thunb.) Sprengel, found in Gageo-do Island, a subtropical zone in Jeollanam-do Province. We named a species Foo-reun-ga-mak-sal. It is easily distinguishable from other recorded species of Viburnum by the characteristics such as exposed winter buds and indeciduous leaves with lustrous and glabrous texture.

Saussurea nipponica subsp. higomontana was recorded first from Mt. Mudeung-san, Gwangju-si, Korea. We named the plant Mu-deung-chui. It had been considered as an endemic plant to Japan. S. nipponica sensu lato is the one of the most famous polymorphic species which consists of 7 infraspecific taxa (subspecies) isolating geographically. Among them, S. nipponica subsp. higomontana is distributed on high mountain regions of Kyushu and Shikoku.

Prunus speciosa (Koidz.) Nakai belonging to Prunoideae of Rosaceae, a species previously unrecorded in Korean flora, is described. Prunus speciosa (Koidz.) Nakai is similar to Prunus sargentii Rehder and Prunus jamasakura Siebold ex Koidz., but different because it has toothed lobes of calyx tubes with the apex of leaf serrations aristate. This species is naturalized widely in the eastern parts of Jeju Island but is endemic to Japan.

Here, we have described and illustrated a new endemic species of Scutellaria orthocalyx. This species, from Jeju-do, Korea, is clearly distinguished from other species of Scutellaria orthocalyx, especially its close relative, Scutellaria orthocalyx has relatively many leaves further down the stem. The shape of leaves begins linear and becomes lanceolate. Scutellaria orthocalyx can also have long shaped leaves on the upper part. Scutellaria baicalensis by linear, terete, fistulous and long leaves. A index to these species is provided.
