물질주의와 의복의 과시적 소비성향이 정보원 사용에 미치는 영향 (Materialism and Conspicuous Consumption in Clothing Information Sources)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between materialism and conspicuous consumption, and information sources. Data were administered to 357 women living in Sunchon from June to July 1999. For analysis of the data, factor analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, duncan's multiple range test, and multiple regression analysis were employed. The results of this study were summarized as follows. 1) Materialism was shown to have the significant differences according to age, marriage, education, occupation, social stratification groups. The higher the education, occupational status, social stratification groups and the lower the age is, or unmarried, the higher is materialism. The use of information sources were shown to have the significant differences according to age, marriage, education, occupation, income, social stratification groups. The higher the education, income, social stratification groups. The higher the education, income, occupational status, social stratification groups and the lower the age is, or unmarried, the higher is use of information. 2) Materialism was shown to have the significant differences according to the groups of conspicuous consumption. The higher conspicuous consumption is, the higher is materialism. The use of information were shown to have the significant differences according to groups of conspicuous consumption. The higher conspicuous consumption is, the higher is use of information. 3) The use of information were shown to have the significant differences according to materialism. The higher materialism is, the higher is use of information. 4) According to the results of the regression analysis examining the relative influences of variables affecting information, the relative importance of the variables are in order of ; happiness-pursuable materialism, conspicuous consumption and their explanatory power totalled 18.6%.

오늘의 피임실태(避妊實態)에 관(關)하여 (About Family Planning Status in Today)

  • Natural increase rate in population is reached to 1.7% in 1975 fron 2.5% in 1966 because of the effect of Govermental Family Planning Program. The average number of present children and ideal children is just the same, 2.4 people, in this investigation. So, I assume that the number of present and ideal children is approaching each other. The rate of unmarried female workers who don't know even one thing about the know ledge of contraception was 23.9%, and especially that of rural women was 31.5% and 41.3% of them has never experienced contraception. 'Boy-preference' presented 60.1% of unmarried female workers and 79.1% of married women. 'Connection of a family line' related to 'Transfer to next generation of a family line' presented 38.0% and 'Trustworthiness' related to 'Leadership of a family' presented 26.0% (total 64.0%). As this point, Ive can find that this rate reveals the traditional sense of patriarchal system in society and family. The rate of women of experienced artificial abortion has been 52.1% and that of women using it as birth control caused by 'Many children' and 'Short brith-interval' 46.6% of women of experienced pregnancy. So, we can see that artificial abortion is a main cause of Maternal Health destruction.

다면적(多面的) 인성검사(人性檢査)(MMPT)에 관(關)한 초보적(初步的) 연구(硏究) (The Elementary Study of Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory(MMPI))

  • Objectives: In order to investigate personality of oriental medical students by MMPI elementarily. Methods: This study was done by comparing the score of MMPI and Sasang questionnaire. The scores of MMPI and Sasang were verified by examination of T-test and Tukey's HSD Procedure. Results: 1. According to comparison between male and female, there is no meaning. But between unmarried group and married group, there is a difference of MMPI T-scores for L, K-scale significantly. 2. In the distinction of sex and marriage between A group and B group, the MMPI T-scores of male and unmarried group have more significance on the various scale. 3. According to comparative anaylsis of MMPI and Sasang questionnaire, Um group(Tae-um, So-um group) showed significant results in D(Depression), PT(Psychasthenia), SI(Social Introversion) scales of the MMPI. 4. In comparison between the temperament of Sasang and analysis of MMPI profile, Tae-um and So-um groups showed many similarities. Conclusion: According to the above results, it is considered that MMPI can be applied to classification of constitution.

계획된 행위이론을 기반으로 한 미혼여성의 생식건강증진행위 구조모형 (A Structural Equation Modeling on Reproductive Health Promoting Behavior of Unmarried Women: Based on the Theory of Planned Behavior)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to construct and test a structural equation modeling on the reproductive health behavior of single women with sexual experiences. This study employed Ajzen's Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Methods: The data were collected after receipt of consent from 250 single women with sexual experiences, and analyzed using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. Results: Model fit indices for the hypothetical model were suitable for the recommended level: $x^2=362.407$, RMR=0.065, RMSEA=0.070, GFI=0.867. TLI=0.927, CFI=0.938, IFI=0.939, and $x^2/dF=2.237$. Intention showed direct effect with the biggest effect being on reproductive health behavior. Attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control were found to have a direct effect on intention. Among them, perceived behavioral control revealed the largest influence. Conclusion: This study suggests that the TPB is a suitable model in explaining the reproductive health behavior of single women with sexual experience. Strategic plans for educational and intervention programs should be aimed to encourage single women to engage in reproductive health behavior.

가임기 미혼여성의 월경규칙성과 정신건강 관련요인: 제5기 국민건강 영양조사를 중심으로 (Menstrual Regularity & Mental Health-related Factors on Unmarried Women of Childbearing Age: Based on the Fifth Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey)

  • Purpose: The research was to identify menstrual regularity & mental health-related factors on unmarried women of childbearing age and provide a raw material in terms of setting up health policy. Methods: The KNHANE V-3 (The Fifth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey) was used and implemented through spss 18.0. Results: In general characteristics, there wasn't any remarkable difference between 20s and 30s. Looking further Mental health-related factors, stress was higher in 30s (p=.010). In 30s of irregularity mensutration women, it was accounted for 12.5% over than 3months experienced. General characteristics varied by menstrual regularity were age (p=.044), education level (p=.035) and in terms of mental health-related factors, they were stress (p=.044), sleeping time (p=.039). Multiple regression analysis was carried out to identify how influential these factors are on menstrual regularity. As a result, age, education level, sleeping time & stress was the most influence factors. Conclusion: The research had some limitations to specify and approach the feature of target in depth through KNHANE V-3. Thus, if the basic analysis regarding the menstrual problem in relation to local society was conducted on the basis of the result of research, it could help developing the promotion of health program and make the application easier.

  • Today, the Korean society is experiencing an increase in serious problems, such as child abuse, unmarried mothers, single mothers, which cannot be overlooked as simply trivial family matters. The increase in these problems is caused by the rapid change that has taken place within our society, which has emasculated the power of our traditional values and behavior patterns to cope with contemporary life styles. Premarital Preparation Education is starting to gain attention as a preventive measure that can overcome this serious family crisis. Although the importance of the Premarital Preparation Education program cannot be overemphasized, there are only few cases where engaged couples and unmarried men and women are exposed to this type of program and actually experience its benefits. In other words, there is an urgent need to revitalize and increase the effects of the Premarital Preparation Education Program. This research was conducted in order to find a way to revitalize and to increase the effects of the program, so that more and more people can participate and receive benefits from it. First, we have analyzed the program's contents and the current condition on how the program is actually conducted. Then we have compared real case examples of the program and analyzed the current situation and its problems.

여대생의 자궁경부암검사(Pap test) 행위의도 예측 경로모형 (A Prediction of Behavioral Intention on Pap Screening Test in College Women: A Path Model)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to predict the effects of behavioral intention on pap screening tests in unmarried college women using a path model. Methods: The study subjects were 216 university students and data were collected through self-report questionnaires including knowledge, attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, behavioral intentions to take the Pap test, and health responsibility. Results: Knowledge regarding the Pap test was moderate. The factors of knowledge, attitude, and perceived behavioral control negatively influenced the behavioral intention of the Pap test. However, the factors of subjective norms and health responsibility positively influenced behavioral intention. Conclusion: Subjective norms are the most importance factor to increase the intentions of the Pap test among unmarried college women. It is also necessary to eliminate barriers to undergoing pap testing, as well as to provide nursing intervention to obtain correct knowledge and a positive attitude regarding the Pap screening test.

일부 제조업 근로자의 스트레스와 정신건강에 관한 연구 (Work Stress and Mental Health of the Industrial Workers)

  • Information on work stress and mental health status of industrial workers was required for optimum staffing and health care management. This study dealt with the relationship between mental health status examined by PSI(psychiatric symptom index) and socio-demographic variables. Especially this study attempted to find relevant determinants of the stress and mental health through multiple stepwise regression analysis based on data obtained from 687 occupational workers. The findings of this study were as follows; Mean scores of symptom dimension were higher in youth, female, more educated, unmarried and divorced, and workers in the noisy condition and short duration in job. And it showed high scores in long duration in job for anxiety; college educated for anger; unmarried for cognitive disturbance. The factors affecting the mean scores of psychiatric symptom index were varied according to the types of symptom: age, sex and duration in job for anxiety; age, sex, living with parent, education and marital status for anger; sex and marital status for depression; noisy condition and sex for cognitive disorder.

자아존중과 의복행동간의 상관연구 -성인 남녀를 대상으로- (A Study on the Relationship between Self-Esteem and Clothing Behavior -For Adult Males and Femalse-)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between self-esteem and demo- graphic variables of adult males and females upon clothing behaviors. The questionnaire were admistered to 249 unmarried females, 202 married females, 228 unmarried males, 179 married males in Pusan. The data was analyzed statisitically using to Pearson's correlation, t-test, Multiple regres-sion. The major findings of this research can be summarized as following; 1. There was significant relationship between the self-esteen and Conformity, Modesty, Management of the clothing behavior subscales. There was significant relationship among the clothing behavior subscales except Interest-Modesty, Conformity-Aesthetics, Conformity- Fashion, Modesty- Psychological dependence and Modesty-Aesthetics. 2. There was significant difference in the self-esteem and all clothing behavior subscales except Conformity according to sex. 3. There was significant difference in Interest, Psychological dependence, Fashion, Conform- ity and Modesty according to marriage status. 4. Sex and school career have significant effect on the self-esteem. Sex have significant effect on Importance, Interest, Modesty, psychological dependence, Aesthetics, Management and Fashion. School career significant effect on Conformity and income effect on Fashion. 5. Sex and school career have significant effect on the self-esteem as intervening variables, the clothing behaviors as dependent variables. Sex, age, school career and income have significant direct effect on the clothing behavior subscales.

매스티지(Masstiege) 명품에 관한 고찰 (제2보) -쇼핑 성향을 중심으로- (The Study about Masstiege High-end Product (Part II) -Focusing on Shopping Orientation-)

  • This study was administered to identify features of masstiege high-end products by comparing to original old high-end products. For this purpose, the differences in shopping orientation between each consumer groups by product types(high-end products, original old high-end products) preferred were examined. 300 female consumers were surveyed and 279 data were used for analysis. The results are as follows. First, three elements(efficiency, enjoyment, convenience) of shopping orientation were constructed by factor analysis and efficiency element of all elements had highest explanation power. The differences in shopping orientation between masstiege high-end products and original old high-end products were identified by t-test. The consumers preferring original old high-end products regarded convenience element as an important factor and the consumers preferring masstiege high-end products considered efficiency element more. The correlation analysis between shopping orientation factors and demographic characteristics were administered. The consumers who were of low age, low education, low income and unmarried pursued efficiency more, the consumers who were unmarried, of high education and high income showed to pursue enjoyment more, and the consumers who were of high age, high education, high income and married considered convenience element more. Finally marketing strategies for masstiege brands were suggested.
