과학과 수업 방법의 요인분석 연구 (A Study on Factor Analysis of Science Teaching Methods)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out and analyze the science teacher's teaching methods. A total of 35 teaching methods were abstracted from the previous studies and the relating literatures. An instrument to measure the frequencies of using methods was developed and then tested to middle school science teachers. The Results of two factor analysis methods were compared. The results are as follows: The instruments's reliablity coefficient(Cronbach ${\alpha}$) was 0.7707. The teaching methods which middle school science teachers have used frequently were represented as the proposing of the learning objectives, the deductive teaching, the experimental activities by teacher's guide, the summarization after explanation, the reading text etc. Also, it was revealed that they have not use the diagnostic evaluation, the formative evaluation, the experimental activities by student's design, the instructional medium. By confirmatory factor analysis, the 1st factor included 13 teaching methods and 2nd and 3rd factor included 9 and 7 methods respectedly. The meaning of 1st factor was interpreted to stimulate student's learning motives. And the other's were about the development of instruction. In exploratory factor analysis factors were overlapped or more fined. These were due to the structure of factors.

사회정의를 위한 교육의 이론적 고찰 (A Study on the Discourse of Education for Social Justice)

  • The purpose of this study was to study literature research on the possibility of education for social justice. First, the principle and rule of education for social justice were unfolded on the basis of contents that education for social justice has to emphasize freedom, democracy, equality of opportunity, and economic growth, and has to be student-centered, collaborative, experienced, knowledged, and practical. Second, the curriculum of education for social justice were unfolded on the basis of contents that education for social justice has to emphasize skills for reading the world and skills for activism, and has to emphasize human rights, democracy, and reservation. And third, the teacher education for social justice were unfolded on the basis of contents that education for social justice has to emphasize care, justice, critique, anti-bias education, critical pedagogy, multicultural education.

대학생들의 생활습관이 시력에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 - 치기공과 재학생을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Impact of Life Habits on Eyesight among College Students (centering on students studying Dental Technology))

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the eyesight and life habits of college students in an attempt to provide some information on the protection of their eyesight. Methods: The subjects in this study were 311 students in the department of dental technology at a college of health, on whom a survey was conducted. A crosstabulation analysis was carried out to show the joint distribution of general characteristics and several variables involving the use of glasses or contact lenses and life habits. Results: 77.5% of the students currently wore glasses due to weak sight. 9.3% took an eye test on a regular basis, and 31.2% did that every six months. As for the length of the length of daily mean reading time, 55.3% spent one hour or less reading books. The most common distance between eyes and books during their reading(44.7%) was 21 to 25. Concerning a reading posture, the biggest group(54.3%) lay down or lay on their face while they read books. 45.0 % spent less than an hour watching TV per day on average, and 27.0% were on the computer for 30 minutes to less than an hour per day on average. The greatest group(63.0%) made use of basic indoor lighting when they were on the computer at night, and 62.1% saw eye doctors to take an eye test. In relation to how to protect eyesight, the biggest group(50.5%) spent less time being on the computer. Conclusion: As the eyesight of college students fails due to reading, TV, computer, and improper ways and posture of doing or using those things, every college definitely should provide education on eye health as one of general education courses.

공학교육에 있어 특수목적 영어 교수법의 효과성 (Effectiveness of Teaching Engineering in English with Specific Purpose)

  • This paper presents a comparative study on the effectiveness of teaching an engineering course using English with Specific Purpose(ESP). A study was performed using student groups; one class using ESP, and one class conducted in English with an English text. The course conducted using ESP showed the greatest improvement in English writing and conversation, and the students reported a greatly increased confidence in their ability to function professionally using English. A self-assessment of each student was conducted before and after the courses. Prior to the course less than 10% in each group felt that they are able to: a) understand a textbook, b) write an email, c) generate a project report, or d) follow a lecture given in English. The survey at the end of the course showed that the ESP teaching style resulted in significant improvements in students ability and confidence with writing and speaking in English, whereas reading skills were similar for both groups. This is due to the ESP method, in which students are required to give presentations and keep journals in English. After a brief review of the ESP principles and a discussion of how they were implemented, the background data of the participants(students) are described. Finally, the end-of-semester survey highlights the efficacy of the ESP approach.

초.중학생의 눈금 읽기 능력 및 측정 도구와 단위에 관련된 개념 조사 (Investigation on the Students' Abilities of Reading Scales and Conceptions Related with Measuring Instruments and Units)

  • 본 연구에서는 초 중등 학생들의 눈금 읽기 능력과 측정도구의 용도 및 단위에 대한 개념을 조사했다. 초등학생 72명, 중1 학생 69명, 중3 학생 80명의 학생을 대상으로 수행 평가 및 지필 평가를 실시했다. 눈금읽기 능력을 평가하기 위해서 개별 수행 평가를 실시했는데, 학생 개개인은 서류 봉투의 가로 세로 길이, 물의 온도, 물의 부피 등을 실험실에서 주로 사용하는 주어진 측정 도구를 사용하여 측정했다. 측정 도구 및 단위와 관련된 개념을 평가하기 위해서는 그림과 사진이 그려진 질문지를 사용했다. 눈금 읽기 능력 면에서 각 학년마다 적지 않은 측정오차를 내는 학생이 있음이 드러났으며 특히 질량이나 부피 측정의 경우 그 수가 더욱 증가했다. 측정 도구에 대한 학생의 개념 조사 결과 학생들은 물리량 개념이 정확하지가 않아 측정 도구가 측정할 수 있는 물리량을 제대로 지적하지 못했다. 또한 단위에 대해서도 혼동이 있어서 특히 질량, 무게, 부피나 힘의 단위 등을 어려워하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

초등학교 과학 영재와 일반 학생 부모의 과학에 대한 태도 및 과학 활동 지원 정도 분석 연구 (An Analysis of the Attitudes toward Science and Support for Scientific Activities of Scientific Gifted and General Students' Parents in Elementary Schools)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the attitudes toward science and support for scientific activities of the scientific gifted students' parents and the general students' parents in elementary school. The objects of the study were 99 scientific gifted students and their parents and 433 general elementary school students and their parents. The instruments for the measurement of attitudes toward science included three scales: cognition :About value of science, affection toward science and science learning, and cognitive participation in scientific activities. The instrument to measure parents' support for scientific activities included two scales: indirect support and direct support. The results of the study showed that the attitudes toward science of scientific gifted elementary students' parents were more positive than the attitudes toward science of general elementary students' parents. Also the gifted elementary students' parents supported many more scientific activities for their children with various methods than the general elementary students' parents. Their preferring support methods for scientific activities included 16 items including the collection of information about science education, the record of TV science programs, purchase of scientific books, subscription of periodical publication about science, preparing material for scientific activities, and reading scientific book with children.

일 지역 간호대학생의 영성에 관한 연구 (Spirituality of Student Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the level of spirituality in student nurses and to provide baseline data to develop a spirituality development education program. Method: The participants were 499 students in departments of nursing in 5 universities in Busan. The data were collected between June 7 and July 18, 2002. The instrument was used Howden's spirituality assessment scale. Collected data were analyzed with frequencies, percentages, $Means{\pm}SD$, t-test F-test, Scheffe test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The SPSS program was used. Results: 1) The mean score for spirituality was $101.14{\pm}8.70$ (range 26-130). 2) The mean score for perceived health state was $3.42{\pm}0.80$. 3) Spirituality according to general characteristics showed significant differences for sex, religion, practice experience, smoking, drinking, and climate of home. 4) Spirituality according to religious characteristics showed significant differences for influence of religion, necessity of religion, help from religion, subjectivity of God in life, reading religious books, participation in religion ceremonies. 5) There was a significant positive correlation between perceived health state and spirituality. Conclusion: The spirituality of the student nurses was high and differed according to sex, religion, practice experience, smoking, drinking, and climate of home, religious characteristics, spirituality, and perceived health status.

애니메이션과 멀티미디어 소프트웨어의 영어 학습 연구 (English Learning Application by Animation and Multimedia Software)

  • 컴퓨터 기술의 발달로 인해 만화로 된 영상과 대화형 삽화를 제공하는 멀티미디어 매체들이 점차 교육용 자료들로 각광받고 있다. 따라서 종전의 전통적인 교육 자료들과 비교했을 때 멀티미디어 자료들이 학습에 더 효율적인지 조사할 필요가 있다. 어떠한 환경가운데 좀 더 효율적인 학습이 될 수 있는지 연구하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구는 전통적인 영어 읽기와 쓰기 학습방법과 삽화나 애니메이션을 사용하는 교육용 멀티미디어 매체를 기반으로 하는 학습과의 비교 연구를 하고자 한다. 학생들의 실험집단과 통제집단으로 구분하여 6개월간의 실험과 서로 다른 교육 자료를 적용하여 설문조사와 평가를 기반으로 그 결과를 영어 교육에 새로운 접근 방법을 제시하고자 한다.

The Development of Science Education Program Based on Culturally Responsive Teaching

  • The purpose of this study was to design a development frame for multicultural science program and develop a corresponding program using the frame. This study organized a development frame to design a multicultural science education program based on the culturally responsive teaching theory. This development frame consisted of the elements of purpose, teaching examples, teaching and learning methods, and assessment. This program consisted of the guideline for class teaching courses, reading materials, student worksheet, and teachers' reference materials. Based on this development frame, a multicultural science education program was developed, which was comprised of seven activities for elementary and middle school students. Each activity of the program included the concept and inquiry related to science education. In particular, by connecting the concept of science with the cultural characteristics of various countries, the activity made students aware of cultural diversity and the commonness of science principles. Compared to other subjects, the science education field has not actively undertaken studies on multicultural education. In term of dealing with universal principles, science education is suitable for making students aware of commonness. Accordingly, this gives rise to the need to draw cultural characteristics based on basic studies such as the analysis of science textbooks in various countries and develop culturally responsive programs utilizing the outcomes.

화학 및 과학 교과서에 기술된 읽기자료 분석 및 활용도 조사 (Analysis of Reading Materials Presented in Chemistry and Science Textbooks and Survey on Utilization Reading Materials)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 과학 교과서에 제시된 읽기자료의 문제점을 파악하기 위해 고등학교 화학I 교과서의 읽기자료를 분석하고, 과학 교사의 과학 교과서 읽기자료에 대한 인식을 조사하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 제7차 교육과정 및 2009개정 교육과정 고등학교 화학 I 교과서 각 4종을 택하여 읽기자료의 수, 내용에 따른 제시 유형과 학생의 활동에 따라 비교 분석하였다. 또한 중등 과학교사의 과학 교과서 읽기자료 활용에 대한 인식 조사를 하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 화학I 교과서의 읽기자료를 유형별로 분석한 결과 제7차 화학I 교과서에서는 읽기자료의 비율이 7.9%~17.1%로 나타났으며, 2009개정 화학 I 교과서는 20.6 28.2%비율로 나타났다. 2009개정 교과서의 읽기자료 비율이 증가하였음을 의미한다. 읽기자료 내용별로 분석한 결과 제7차 교육과정에서는 '생활 속 과학'이 34.3%로 가장 큰 비율을 차지하였으나, 2009개정에서는 '지식의 심화보충'이 23.7%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 학생 활동 유형별로 분석한 결과 제7차 교육과정은 읽기자료 13%만이 탐구형 자료인 것으로 나타났으나 2009개정에서는 35%가 탐구형 자료로 나타나 학생의 탐구활동 향상을 위한 교육과정 목표가 반영되었음을 시사한다. 둘째, 과학 교과서활용 실태에 대한 교사의 인식 조사 결과 67%에 해당하는 교사가 현재 과학 교과서 읽기자료를 수업에 사용하고 있으나 거의 활용하지 않는 교사도 33%나 되었다. 많은 교사들이 실생활과 관련된 통합적 교육을 위해 읽기자료가 필요하다고 응답하였으며 '생활 속 과학' 읽기자료가 교과서에 좀 더 많이 포함되어야 한다고 인식하고 있었다.
