A universal design method using 3 Point task analysis and 9 universal design items

  • In order to examine universal desist I have developed two analytical methodologies based on 3P(point) task analysis: structured task analysis and task matrix analysis. I also extracted me universal design items, namely (1) adjustment (2) redundancy, (3) specification and function transparency, (4) feedback and (5) error tolerance, (6) effective acquisition of information, (7) ease of understanding and judgment (8) comfortable operation, and (9) continuity of information and operation. Structured task analysis is used to uncover problems in each of the tasks constituting a job for each functionally challenged condition of users, and solutions to the extracted problems are examined in terms of the above-mentioned nine universal design items. Task matrix analysis calls for the production of a table for each task in a job. In each table, nine items from the columns, and the horizontal rows list all disability types. Then, solutions are formulated for each cell formed by the intersecting columns and rows. Using these two analysis methods, T have conducted a verification experiment for the universal design of a public bus. The results of the research have enabled me to propose various solutions from a system-based perspective, instead of coming up with the superficial and isolated solutions which are normally produced when conventional analytical methods are used.

  • A universal joint is a connecting device of two hinges which can transmit torque from one shaft to another at fixed or at varying angles of intersection. It has been used properly not only as rotational but also as intermittent motion. For the particular kinematics condition of a universal joint, torsional and bending vibrations are produced excessively in an elastic driveline. In this paper only the torsional vibration behavior of a driveline with universal joints is analyzed numerically with the discrete model and a design method of the dynamic vibration damper is proposed, in order to reduce torsional vibrations especially in resonance region as a result of parametric variation.

  • Citrate 공침법으로 합성한 여러가지 perovskite형 복합산화물 흡착제에 대한 질소와 아르곤의 흡착등온곡선을 액체질소 온도에서 BET 중량 흡착장치를 사용하여 측정하였다. 여러 universal adsorption isotherm을 이용하여 흡착층의 통계적 두께 t를 구한 후, 측정한 흡착량을 각각의 통계적 두께 t에 대해서 도시하였다. 이 V-t plot으로부터 얻은 t-method 표면적과 BET 표면적을 비교하였다. 그리고 이 도시 결과에 입각해서 여러 universal adsorption isotherm의 적합성을 고찰하였다.

모바일 폰 한글입력방식의 유니버셜 디자인에 관한 연구 (Universal Design of Hangul Input Method for Mobile Phones)

  • A few people are frequently using Korean text entry function in the mobile phone. To make matters worse, too many kinds of Korean text entry methods exist in the market, compelling mobile phone users to learn how to input texts all over again, whenever they purchase a new mobile phone. The purpose of this study is to propose a universal design of Korean text entry method for mobile phones. Several experiments and several questionnaire surveys were conducted in order to induce design factors for the universal design. Participants were mobile phone users with the diverse levels of text entry expertise and with the diverse ages. The results of this investigation were identical, irrespective of participants' age and expertise. The efficiency of the text entry method was not more important factor than memorability. The layout of vowels to keypad was preferred to map just 3 strokes to the 3 buttons so that users can make for themselves vowels that they want to input. The preference on the consonants layout was different according to investigation methods. According to the survey, it was preferred that consonants were arranged by alphabet order. However, the result of text entry speed measurement was that the arrangement by alphabet order was not superior to the typical arrangement. Such results may be used to design mobile phones for diverse users.

멀티웨이블릿 변환영역에서 계수정규화를 이용한 Soft-Threshold 기법의 영상신호 잡음제거 (Image Signal Denoising by the Soft-Threshold Technique Using Coefficient Normalization in Multiwavelet Transform Domain)

  • 웨이블릿 축소 기법으로 영상신호의 잡음을 제거할 때, 웨이블릿 계수들이 상관관계를 갖는 경우 잡음제거 효과가 저하된다. 멀티웨이블릿 변환된 계수 들은 사전 필터의 영향으로 상관관계를 갖게 된다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기위해 V Sterela에 의해 Universal 경계 값 적용을 위한 사전 필터를 새로 설계하거나 가중 값을 적용하는 기법이 제시되었다. 본 논문에서는 멀티웨이블릿 변환 영역에서 웨이블릿 축소 기법의 잡음제거 효과를 향상시키기 위해, 대역의 계수를 추정된 잡음편차로 나누는 계수 정규화기법을 Universal, SURE 및 GCV 경계 값에 적용하여 잡음을 제거하는 시도를 하였다. 각 경계 값들에 대한 PSNR을 비교하여 이 기법의 실용성을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper input characteristics of Buck converter to drive small capacity universal motor is analyzed about current harmonics and EMI which is due to a switching effect. And as a strategy for EMI reduction, filter is designed. As a results it is approved that buck converter is adequate method to reduce low order harmonics.

  • There have been many researches on machine tool vibration and chatter to obtain assessment procedure and more productivity. In this paper chatter limit is predicted on a universal machining center which used a parallel mechanism. The prediction method uses the combination of structural dynamic characteristics and cutting dynamics. So the dynamic characieristics were obtained by vibration experiments. We showed the unstable cutting conditions, and from them we could plot the unstable borderlines.

Universal Plasma-chemical Module for Carbon-containing Raw Materials Treatment

  • A universal plasma-chemical module (PChM) for the industrial processing of different hydrocarbon raw material pyrolysis was designed and tested. Laboratory investigations for the plasma-chemical method of acetylene production from natural gas and different coals were made. Similar laboratory tests on the industrial production of acetylene as a raw material for organic syn-thesis were developed using the PChM. A comparison of the suggested plasma-chemical method with the traditional process of acetylene production were carried out. The outlook of the plasma-chemical method was shown.

유니버설디자인을 적용한 고령친화형 운동환경 디자인 가이드라인 (Aging-Friendly Outdoor Exercise Environmental Design Guideline With Universal Design)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an aging friendly guideline aging friendly outdoor exercise environment in Universal design aspect. The aim for this guideline is to suggest a creative method to cope with forthcoming aging society and meet the various demands of all park users. Documentary survey and field survey were used to extract notion of universal design and aging friendly design; based from the extracted notions three types of exercise environment were suggested, Small scale, Medium scale and Large scale. The significant of this guideline is as fallow: First, negative aspects of aging friendly design can be eliminated by adopting universal design; therefore the guideline can have social integration aspect. Second, reflected needs of residents can be suggested on the guideline; and it was extracted from documentary survey, PPP UD checklist and field survey. Third, classifying universal design and aging friendly design in one guideline can enhance ability to manage various composition of population. Fourth, by studying young child and old people's likeness and parallel resemblance, design guideline for forthcoming aging society can be suggested. Fifth, from three developed exercise environments, the guideline can be applied into different conditions of location. Sixth, canopy type design model can be very useful for old people.

여객시설의 BF인증지표 자체평가를 통한 인증지표의 문제점 및 개선방향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Problems of the Barrier-Free(BF) Certification Criteria Found through Assessment of Passenger Facilities Using the Certification Criteria and Methods to Improve the Certification Criteria)

  • Purpose: This study aims to find directions to improve the barrier-free (BF) certification criteria by assessing the current BF certification system, which is used as a method to improve access to passenger facilities and as a method for universal design planning, and by comparing BF certified facilities with non-BF certified facilities. Methods: This study assesses 20 BF certified facilities and 39 non-BF certified facilities, which were constructed in 2005 and onwards. The results of the assessment are compared and analyzed based on the following three categories: railway stations, urban railway stations and bus terminals. Results: The results of the analysis show that the total scores of the BF certified facilities are higher than those of the facilities that were not BF certified, indicating that the BF certification system is effective. Implication: However, there are some criteria items showing higher scores in facilities that are not BF certified than in BF certified facilities. This suggests the need to improve the BF certification criteria.
