We study essentially disjoint one dimensionally indexed classes whose members are distribution sets of a self-similar Cantor set. The Hausdorff dimension of the union of distribution sets in a same class does not increases the Hausdorff dimension of the characteristic distribution set in the class. Further we study the Hausdorff dimension of some uncountable union of distribution sets.

본 논문에서는 이진화된 지문 이미지를 효율적으로 처리하기 위한 자료 구조인 Union and Division을 이용하여 이진화와 잡음 제거, 그리고 특이점 추출 단계로 이루어진다. Union and Division을 사용하는 경우에, 융선을 추적 가능하다는 성질을 이용하여 동일 융선 상에 있는 두 개의 특이점을 잇는 선분을 기준점으로 하는 정합 알고리즘을 제안한다.

Because of stricter goverment regulations concerning contamination of meat by pharmaceuticals, chemicals and a general growing sensibility of the public, customers habits are switching and farmers and vets are looking more and more for alternatives to cope with these rising demands. The trend of using Nutriceutical products, composed by using the knowledge of traditional herbal medicine systems is growing in the European Union faster now than it happened 10 years ago and this upward trend will be much stronger in the future.

In this paper, using the theory of majorization, we discuss the Schur m power convexity for L-conjugate means of n variables and the Schur convexity for weighted L-conjugate means of n variables. As applications, we get several inequalities of general mean satisfying Schur convexity, and a few comparative inequalities about n variables Gini mean are established.

Recently, women astronomers have played increasingly important roles in the International Astronomical Union (IAU). Although only 18% are women across the entire membership of the IAU, currently one half of the IAU Executive Committee members are female. In fact, the previous, current, and next presidents of the IAU and many of the Division presidents are women. I will review a variety of efforts that the IAU has carried out to pursue equality and diversity in Astronomy. Also I will share my personal experience and thoughts on meritocracy as a guiding principle that governs academic integrity and scholarly power system in scientific communities in Korea.

In the recent 20 years, the capital flows between Korea and European Union have increased and diversified. In particular, the business cycles of two economies have shown similar patterns since the Global Financial Crisis. This study examines both trends and investigates the roles of finance and trade on business cycle co-movements between two economies. The empirical results show that the business cycles can diverge due to either the common shocks or the country-specific shocks. Furthermore, financial integration increases the business cycle co-movements driven by both the country-specific shocks and the common shocks between two economies.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze the factors related to nonunion in tibiotalar arthrodesis. Materials and Methods: Eighty cases of ankle arthritis treated with tibiotalar arthrodesis in our hospital from November 2008 to November 2015 with more than one year follow up were analyzed. Simple anteroposterior and lateral radiographs after 6 and 12 months of surgery were analyzed. Union was defined as more than 50% connection of the trabecular bone at the ankle joint surface in the anteroposterior and lateral radiographs. The nonunion group was defined as no signs of union with persistent pain 9 months after surgery. The surgical approach, type of used screw, preoperative and postoperative ankle alignment, body mass index (BMI), bone mineral density, and patients' prior history were compared between the two groups. Results: There were 69 union cases and 11 nonunion cases. In the patient factors, the gender and BMI was related to nonunion (p<0.05). The mean preoperative and postoperative ankle alignment in the nonunion group was $9.93^{\circ}{\pm}6.92^{\circ}$ and $5.43^{\circ}{\pm}3.35^{\circ}$ respectively, and $9.80^{\circ}{\pm}7.55^{\circ}$ and $5.63^{\circ}{\pm}3.45^{\circ}$ in the union group, respectively; the difference was not statistically significant (p>0.05). In the technical factors, the transfibular approach showed a better relationship but the association was not significant (p<0.05). In 40 cases of the transfibular approach, 12 cases used cancellous screws, and 4 cases showed nonunion due to screw breakage. Conclusion: Technical factors, such as the surgical approach and the type of screw used can be a risk factor in nonunion. In addition, patients' factors, such as gender and BMI, must be considered to reduce the nonunion rate.

최적분류점에 대한 대부분의 정확도 측도들은 두 종류의 누적분포함수와 확률밀도함수를 기반으로 정의하거나 또는 ROC 곡선과 AUC를 기반으로 정의하는 방법으로 구분하는데, Unal (2017)은 두 가지 방법을 혼합하여 누적분포함수와 AUC를 모두 고려하는 정확도 측도 Index of Union (IU) 통계량을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서는 IU 통계량을 포함한 열 개의 정확도 측도들을 여섯 종류의 범주로 구분하여 각 범주에 속하는 측도들을 비교하면서 IU의 장점을 연구한다. 다양한 정규혼합분포를 설정하여 각각의 측도들에 대응하는 최적분류점들을 구하고 각 분류점에 대응하는 제1종과 제2종 오류 그리고 두 종류의 오류합을 구해서 오류들의 크기를 비교하면서 분류정확도 측도들의 판별력을 비교하면서 IU의 성격과 특징을 탐색한다. 두 종류 분포들의 평균 차이가 증가할수록 IU 통계량의 제1종 오류와 오류합의 크기가 최고의 분류정확도를 갖는 제2범주의 정확도 측도의 오류에 수렴하는 것을 발견하였다. 그러므로 IU는 모형의 판별력을 평가하는 정확도 측도로 활용할 수 있다.
