AAPM Phantom을 이용한 CT 팬텀 영상 평가 시 정량적 분석 방법에 관한 연구 (When Evaluated Using CT Imaging Phantoms AAPM Phantom Studies on the Quantitative Analysis Method)

  • AAPM CT 성능 평가용 표준 팬텀을 이용한 특수의료장비 품질관리 검사 시, 평가자의 주관적인 평가로 인한 오류를 최소화 하고자 전산화된 평가 프로그램을 이용하여 유용성을 평가하고자 한다. 평가 팬텀으로 AAPM CT Performance Phantom을 사용하였고, 기본 촬영 조건은 품질관리검사와 동일하며, 평가프로그램으로 IMAGE J를 사용하였다. 정량적인 평가로 CT 감약계수와 노이즈측정, 균일도측정, 슬라이스 두께 측정, 대조도 분해능 측정, 공간 분해능 측정의 팬텀 영상을 평가프로그램을 이용하여 영상처리를 한 후 자동추출 된 결과로 평가 하였으며, CT 감약계수, 노이즈, 균일도 측정은 영상처리를 한 영상의 표준편차가 작아 더 균일하다고 평가하였고, 슬라이스 두께 측정은 팬텀영상의 측정값과의 비율 차로 인해 평가에 어려움이 있었다. 대조도 분해능은 원통형의 지름을 6회 측정하여 지름의 평균값과 표준편차를 구해 원의 형태를 평가하였으며, 공간 분해능은 합격기준을 포함하는 원의 그룹을 자동 추출한 결과 원의 개수를 모두 추출한 결과로 나타났다. 정성적인 평가로 원본영상과 영상 처리한 영상을 육안적으로 비교 평가 하였는데 영상처리 된 영상이 우수한 결과를 나타내었다. 위의 결과 등을 바탕으로 평가자의 주관적인 판단의 오류를 최소화하기 위해서는 정량적인 평가와 정성적인 평가가 함께 이루어져야 하고 전산화된 평가프로그램을 활용한다면 보다 더 효율적인 평가가 이루어 질 것이라고 사료된다.

Fabrication of Large Area Transmission Electro-Absorption Modulator with High Uniformity Backside Etching

  • Surface-normal transmission electro-absorption modulator (EAM) are attractive for high-definition (HD) three-dimensional (3D) imaging application due to its features such as small system volume and simple epitaxial structure [1,2]. However, EAM in order to be used for HD 3D imaging system requires uniform modulation performance over large area. To achieve highly uniform modulation performance of EAM at the operating wavelength of 850 nm, it is extremely important to remove the GaAs substrate over large area since GaAs material has high absorption coefficient below 870 nm which corresponds to band-edge energy of GaAs (1.424 eV). In this study, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a transmission EAM in which highly selective backside etching methods which include lapping, dry etching and wet etching is carried out to remove the GaAs substrate for achieving highly uniform modulation performance. First, lapping process on GaAs substrate was carried out for different lapping speeds (5 rpm, 7 rpm, 10 rpm) and the thickness was measured over different areas of surface. For a lapping speed of 5 rpm, a highly uniform surface over a large area ($2{\times}1\;mm^2$) was obtained. Second, optimization of inductive coupled plasma-reactive ion etching (ICP-RIE) was carried out to achieve anisotropy and high etch rate. The dry etching carried out using a gas mixture of SiCl4 and Ar, each having a flow rate of 10 sccm and 40 sccm, respectively with an RF power of 50 W, ICP power of 400 W and chamber pressure of 2 mTorr was the optimum etching condition. Last, the rest of GaAs substrate was successfully removed by highly selective backside wet etching with pH adjusted solution of citric acid and hydrogen peroxide. Citric acid/hydrogen peroxide etching solution having a volume ratio of 5:1 was the best etching condition which provides not only high selectivity of 235:1 between GaAs and AlAs but also good etching profile [3]. The fabricated transmission EAM array have an amplitude modulation of more than 50% at the bias voltage of -9 V and maintains high uniformity of >90% over large area ($2{\times}1\;mm^2$). These results show that the fabricated transmission EAM with substrate removed is an excellent candidate to be used as an optical shutter for HD 3D imaging application.

전기화학적 해석을 통한 PCB용 구리도금에 대한 전류밀도의 영향성 연구 (A Study on The Effect of Current Density on Copper Plating for PCB through Electrochemical Experiments and Calculations)

  • 반도체 Si 웨이퍼 Cu 배선을 제작하는데 사용하는 submicron 크기의 다마신 패턴의 구리 도금공정을 동일한 조건의 유기첨가제 및 전류밀도 조건을 사용하여 PCB 금속배선에 사용되는 수십 micron 크기의 패턴 도금에 적용하였다. PCB 패턴의 종횡비가 작아 쉽게 채워질 것으로 기대했던 것과는 달리, 이 경우 패턴 내부에 위치별 도금 두께 불균일도가 심화되는 것이 관찰되었다. 이러한 원인을 정량적으로 분석하기 위해 유동 및 전기장을 고려한 전기화학적 해석을 진행하였으며, 이를 통해 패턴 바닥부 코너에서 측벽과 바닥부의 도금에 의한 용액내 Cu2+ 이온의 고갈이 상대적으로 패턴 상부보다 빠르게 일어나는 것이 확인되었다. 이는 Cu2+ 이온의 확산계수가 2.65×10-10 m2/s 로 초당 16.3 ㎛정도의 평균 이동거리를 가짐으로, 이 값이 다마신 패턴에서는 충분히 커서 원활하게 패턴 내부까지 이온 공급이 이루어지나, 수십 micron 크기를 갖는 PCB 크기에서는 소진된 구리이온을 보충해 주기 위해 충분한 시간이 필요하기 때문인 것으로 확인되었다. 구리 이온을 충분히 공급해 주기 위해 전류밀도를 낮춰 Cu2+ 이온이 확산할 수 있는 충분한 시간을 할애해 줌으로써 두께 균일도가 향상되는 것을 알 수 있었다.

드론 방제 살포 효율 개선을 위한 하향풍 및 액적 퇴적 분포 분석 (Analysis of Drone Downwash and Droplet Deposition for Improved Aerial Spraying Efficiency in Agriculture)

  • With the advancement of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) technology, aerial spraying has been rapidly increasing in the agricultural field. Drones offer many advantages compared to traditional applicators, but they pose challenges such as spray drift risk and spray uniformity. To address these issues, it is essential to understand the characteristics of complex airflow generated by drones and its consequences for the spray performance. This study aims to identify the air velocity distribution of drone downwash and the resulting spray deposition distribution on the ground, ultimately proposing optimized spraying widths and criteria. Experiments were conducted using two agricultural drones with different propeller arrangements under various flight and measurement conditions. The results showed that during hovering, the downward airflow affected the area within a distance of the radius of the blade (R) from the center of the drone. When the drone was flying, the downward airflow was effective up to a distance of 2R. Droplet deposition was concentrated at the center of the drone during hovering. However, during flying, the droplet deposition was more evenly distributed up to the distance of R. The drone downwash and droplet deposition were significantly different during flying compared to the hovering state. At an effective spray width of 3R, the coefficient of variation (CV) was generally less than 16%, indicating a significant improvement in spray uniformity. These findings help optimize effective spraying techniques in drone-based applications.

두경부암 방사선치료 시 선량 균일도 향상을 위한 Thermoplastic 구강 보상체의 개발 (Development of a Thermoplastic Oral Compensator for Improving Dose Uniformity in Radiation Therapy for Head and Neck Cancer)

  • 두경부암 방사선치료 시 공동 경계면 및 주변 치료 부위의 선량 균일도 향상을 위하여 조직 등가의 thermoplastic 구강 보상체를 개발하였다. Thermoplastic의 유용성 평가를 위해, 기존에 사용해 오던 치과용 인상재료인 paraffin, alginate, 그리고 putty로 제작한 각 구강 보상체의 물성 및 선량 분포 향상도를 비교하였다. 물성 평가에는 강도 평가(압축 실험, 낙하 실험)와 자연변형도(시간에 따른 체적 변화) 평가를 수행하였으며, 개발한 선량 검증용 팬톰에 삽입한 유리선량계와 Gafchromic EBT2 필름을 이용하여 표면선량, 공동 경계면 선량 및 빔 측면도를 측정하여 전달 선량을 평가하였다. 두 달간 각 구강 보상체의 자연변형도 평가하였을 때, alginate는 수분증발로 최대 80% 체적 변화를 보였으나, thermoplastic을 포함한 나머지 조직 등가 물질은 체적 변화가 3% 미만으로 나타났다. 강도 평가 중 5회 반복한 1.5 m 높이의 자유 낙하실험에서 paraffin은 충격에 의하여 파손이 발생되었으나, thermoplastic은 낙하에 의한 파손이 발생되지 않았으며, 압축 강도 실험에서도 paraffin에 비하여 8배 이상의 높은 힘에서도 파손되지 않았다. 유리선량계를 이용한 선량 검증 결과, 1문 조사 시 조직등가[약 80 HU (Hounsfield Unit)]의 thermoplastic은 동일한 처방 선량 전달 시 약 1,000 HU 이상의 값을 나타내는 putty에 비해 4% 낮은 출력계수(monitor unit) 전달로 약 4.9%의 낮은 표면 선량을 전달하였다. 또한 빔 입사 방향을 기준으로 할 때, 구강 통과 후 경계면의 빔 측면도에서 선량 균일도 평가를 위해 측정한 조사영역 편평도는 air, thermoplastic, putty에서 각각 11.41, 3.98, 4.30으로 나타났다. Thermoplastic 구강 보상체는 조직 등가 물질로 기존에 사용해오던 구강 보상체에 비하여 강도가 높고 물질 변형 확률이 적으며, 구강을 포함을 경계면 및 주변 부위에 균일한 선량 분포를 형성할 수 있으므로 균일한 처방 선량 전달 및 피부 선량 감소가 가능하다.

종이의 투기도가 담배 물성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Paper Permeability on Cigarette Properties)

  • The cigarette ventilation affects not only the amount of tar and nicotine delivery by a cigarette, but also the composition of the smoke. Therefore, it is important to stabilize of variability in cigarette ventilation that would be affected by changes in cigarette components. This work was conducted to determine the major factors that influence the cigarette ventilation and also to provide fundamental informations for improving the uniformity of cigarette performances. To evaluate the effect of cigarette ventilation as a dependant variable, the three independent factors were the air permeability of plugwrap, tipping paper and the filter pressure drop. We determined the effect of paper permeability on ventilation variability and the optimum condition in combinations of independent factors. The mean of cigarette ventilation was increased as plugwrap permeability increases, particularly at 26,000 CU. However, it was exhibited that standard deviation and coefficient of variation of the cigarette ventilation were decreased with increasing plugwrap permeability. At the 600 CU and 1,200 CU of tipping paper permeability, process capability index (Cp) of the cigarette ventilation increased as plugwrap permeability increases. Following the optimum condition of cigarette ventilation induced by fitted regression equation, one was to optimize 50% ventilation level is by combination with plugwrap permeability of 16,000 CU, tipping paper permeability of 810 CU, filter pressure drop of 319 mm$H_2O$, respectively.

흙의 다짐에 관한 연구(I) (Study on the Soil Compaction)

  • It is one of the most economical method of soil stabilization works to compact soil, which increases soil density artificially. Compaction effort is to lessen void of soils, and consequently its aim is to enlarge friction and cohesion force, and reduce permeability of soil. Factors in compaction effort are moisture content, grain size, grain size distribution, physical properties, compaction method and temperature of soils etc. The results obtained in this study on the effects that grain size, gradation and physical properties influence upon compaction effort for 20 samples under the constant compaction method, are summarized as follows: 1. The bigger the maximum dry density is, the smaller the optimum moisture content is, on the other hand, the smaller the maximum dry densityis, the bigger the optimum moisture content is, ingeneral. 2. The coarser the grain size is, the bigger the maximum dry density is, and the optimum moisture content becomes small, and dry density-moisture content curve has the sharp peak, generally. Also, the finer the grain size is the smaller the maximum dry density is, and the optimum moisture content shows the big value, and dry density-moisture content curve has the dull peak. 3. The maximum dry density shows the biggest value on the sample to be about 15% of particles finer than No. 200 sieve. The more the percent passing of No. 10 sieve increase, the smaller the maximum dry density is. Soils which have uniformity coefficient less than 5 in particles larger than 0.074mm hardly show dry density-moisture content curve. 4. There is a relation which is ramax=2.3948-0.0376 Wopt between the maximum dry density and the optimum moisture content, namely, the maximum dry density is increased in proportion to decrease of the optimum moisture content. 5. There are relations to be the straight lines which the maximum dry density decrease, on the other hand, the optimum moisture content increase in accordance with enlargement of Atterberg Limit(LL, PL, PL) in compacted soils.

도시대기측정망 자료를 이용한 대구지역 대기오염물질의 공간분포에 관한 연구 (A Study for Spatial Distribution of Principal Pollutants in Daegu Area Using Air Pollution Monitoring Network Data)

  • The objective of this study was to estimate the trends of each pollutant using the air pollution monitoring networks data from January 2005 to December 2008 in Daegu area. Also, the spatial characteristics of each pollutant were determined using the Pearson correlation coefficients and COD (coefficients of divergence). In this study, the trends of hourly, monthly, seasonal, and total average concentrations of each pollutant for the 10 sites were analyzed. The Ihyeon site showed highest concentration for the $SO_2$, $NO_2$, and PM10}. In the case of $O_3$, the Jisan site showed highest concentration among the other sites. Also, industrial area presented highest concentration for the $SO_2$, CO, and PM10. On the other hand, $NO_2$ showed highest in commercial area. The IDW (inverse distance weighting) method was used to estimate characteristics of spatial distribution. The results provide identify spatial distribution for each pollutant. Also, the Pearson correlation coefficients and COD values provide spatial variability among the monitoring sites. The COD of each pollutant showed very low values for all of the sites pairs. On the other hand, the Pearson correlation coefficients showed high values for all of the sites pairs. Finally, analysis of spatial variability can be used to characterize the spatial uniformity and similarity of concentrations from each pollutant.

  • 전산화단층촬영(CT)은 영상의학에서 매우 유용한 검사의 진단법으로 적절한 정도관리에 의한 영상의 평가가 필요하다. CT의 정도관리 항목에서 영상의 질을 결정하는 중요한 요소를 위해 AAPM CT 팬텀으로 영상검사를 수행하였다. 정도관리 평가항목은 "특수의료장비의 설치 및 운영에 관한 규칙"에서 정한 기준으로 물의 CT 감약계수, 노이즈, 균일도, 공간분해능, 대조도 분해능, 절편 두께, 인공물 존재 유무를 평가하였다. 획득한 영상은 규칙의 합격기준에 충족하였다. CT 영상의 질을 최적으로 유지하기 위해서는 지속적으로 팬텀 및 임상검사를 통해 영상의 질을 평가하기 위해 정도관리를 시행하여야 한다.

경사진 사석층의 지지력에 관한 원심모형실험 및 수치해석 (Centrifuge Model Experiments and Numerical Analysis for the Bearing Capacity of Sloped Rubble Mound)

  • This paper is an experimental and numerical research works about the effects of the b earing capacity of sloped rubble mound on the density of rubble mound and the position of footing. Centrifuge model tests were performed to investigate the bearing capacity of rubble m ound by changing the density of rubble mound and the location of loading in forms of s trip loading to simulate the caisson. Materials of rubble mound used in the model tests were crushed rocks having similar value of uniformity coefficient to the value in field. Two different relative densities of 80% and 90% were prepared during tests. The dimens ions of centrifuge model were trapezoidal shape of model mound having the bottom wid th of mound, 30cm and height of mound, 10cm. Gravity level applied during the centrif uge test was 50G. Surcharge loading in the forms of strip loading was applied on the t op of the sloped model mound. Tests were carried out by changing the position of loadi ng. The rigid model footing was located in the center of top of the model rubble mound and the edge of model footing was at the crest of mound. Test results were analyzed by using the limit equilibrium methods proposed by Meyer hof(1957) and Bowles(1982) and the numerical approach with FLAC being available com mercially software. For the numerical estimations with FLAC, the rubble mound was si mulated with the constitutive relationship of Mohr-Coulomb elasto-plastic model.
