다중 신호원의 도래방향 추정을 위한 개선된 MVE에 관한 연구 (A Study on an Improved MVE for Estimating the Direction of Arrival of Multiple Sources)

  • Many high-resolution algorithms based on the eigen-decomposition analysis of observed covariance matrix, such as MVE, MUSIC, and EVM, have been proposed. However, the resolution of spectral estimates for these algorithms is severely degraded when Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) is low and arrival angles of signal are close to each other. And EVM and MUSIC is powerful for the characteristic of SNR. But have the limitation that the number of signals presented is known. While MVE is bad the characteristic of SNR. In this study, we propose a modified MVE to enhance the resolution for Direction-Of-Arrival (DOA) estimation of underwater acoustic signal. This is to remove the limitation that existing algorithms should know the information for the number of signals. Because the algorithms founded on the eigen value estimate DOA with only the noise subspace, they have the high-resolution characteristic. And then, with the method reducing the effect of the signal subspace, we are to reduce the degradation because of complementary relationship between the signal subspace and the noise subspace. This paper, with using the simulation data, we have estimated the proposed algorithms, compared it with other high-resolution algorithms. The simulation results show that the modified MVE proposed is accurate and has a better resolution even though SNR is low, under the same condition.

  • Increased usage of autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) has led to the development of alternative navigational methods that do not employ the acoustic beacons and dead reckoning sensors. This paper describes a simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) scheme that uses range sonars mounted on a small AUV. The SLAM is one of such alternative navigation methods for measuring the environment that the vehicle is passing through and providing relative position of AUV by processing the data from sonar measurements. A technique for SLAM algorithm which uses several ranging sonars is presented. This technique utilizes an unscented Kalman filter to estimate the locations of the AUV and objects. In order for the algorithm to work efficiently, the nearest neighbor standard filter is introduced as the algorithm of data association in the SLAM for associating the stored targets the sonar returns at each time step. The proposed SLAM algorithm is tested by simulations under various conditions. The results of the simulation show that the proposed SLAM algorithm is capable of estimating the position of the AUV and the object and demonstrates that the algorithm will perform well in various environments.

  • With the increasing requirements for the survey and development of the ocean, the demands on the of AUV(Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) technologies have been increased. Reconstruction and replay of the AUV motion on the basis of the data stored during the execution of mission, can help the development of control strategies for AUVs such as mission planning and control algorithms. While an AUV cruises for her mission, her attitude and position data are is recorded. The data can be used for visualization of the motion in off-line. However, because most of the position data gathered from acoustic sensors have long time-interval and include intermittent faulty signal, the replayed motion by the graphic simulator can not demonstrate the motion as a smooth movie. In this paper, interpolation methods are surveyed to reconstruct the AUV position data. Then, an efficient 3D visualization method for AUV motion using the interpolation method is proposed. Simulation results arc also included to verify the proposed method.

Design of Multiband Maritime Network for Ships and its Applications

  • Nowadays, maritime communication systems need high data rate, reliability, and consistency in order to equivalently provide navigating ships with diverse multimedia services as in terrestrial communication systems. For this purpose, we conceptualize and design the maritime network for ships equipped with a multiband communication system which cost-effectively supports multimedia services according to several radiofrequency bands, such as HF, VHF, and satellite frequencies. We also introduce two service scenarios targeted for the maritime network; ship multimedia service (SMS) and real-time maritime logistics location tracking (RML2T). In addition, we specify related works according to three lower network layers (i.e., physical, data-link, and network layers) upon designing the network.

수중음향통신을 위한 결정궤환 등화기의 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of a Decision Feedback Equalizer for Underwater Acoustic Communications)

  • 본 논문에서는 2007년 11월 거제 연안에서 실해역 실험을 통하여 취득한 데이터를 이용하여 수중음향통신을 위한 적응 결정궤환 등화기의 비트 오율 성능 분석 결과에 대해서 논한다. 전방먹임 필터 탭수, 되먹임 필터 탭 수, 훈련신호열 길이, 시간 지연 등의 변수를 변화시키면서 비트 오율을 분석한 결과, 전달 거리 9.7km, 4km에서 각각 $4{\times}10^{-2}\;and\;1.5{\times}10^{-2}$ 비트 오율을 얻었다.

  • When detecting underwater targets using echo sounder, the echo signals varies with the angular displacement of the transducer due to ship's motion. Then, the effect of the angular which effects the capability of the echo sounder must be investigated in relation to the detection of fish concentration, particularly, the abundance estimation of fish. In this pater, as the basic research to investigate the effect of the ship's motion when estimating the fish stocks by acoustic methods, the authors was theoritically considered the variations in the values of the two way directivity function of transducer in the direction of the targets which caused by the angular motion of transducer. Here, the effects of the movement of target and ship's running are neglected. At the same time, the data was applied to estimate the angular shift of the detectable area of echo sounder due to transducer displacement. From the results analyzed, we found that the angular shift of the detectable area due to ship's motion increases both as the roll angle increases and as the beamwidth becomes narrower, varies with the depth.

회전하는 견인 선배열 소나의 적응 빔 형성 기법 (Adaptive Beamforming Method for Turning Towed Line Array SONAR)

  • 수중의 음향 신호를 탐지하기 위하여 다양한 배열 형태를 가지는 소나가 개발되어 왔으며, 그 중 하나로 견인선배열 소나가 널리 사용된다. 견인 선배열 소나는 매우 긴 형태의 배열을 사용하므로, 회전에 의한 형상 왜곡에 의해 성능이 저하되는 단점이 있다. 이를 해결하기 위하여 회전하는 견인 선배열 소나에 대한 포물선 형태의 형상 모델을 이용하는 기법이 고안되었다. 본 논문에서는 포물선 모델을 이용하여 간섭 신호를 제거하는 적응 빔 형성기 설계 기법을 제안한다. 고안된 빔형성기 시스템은 일반화된 부엽 제거기 구조와 자가 조율 시스템에 기반을 두어 개발되었다.

  • 결합형 유한요소-경계요소 기법을 사용하여 압전체 유연형 쏘나 변환기를 시뮬레이션하였다. 쏘나 변환기의 역학적 구동을 3차원적으로 모델링하였고 전기적 외부 부하 조건을 가지고 분석하였다. 정상 상태 변위 모드, 방향 패턴, 공진 주파수, 대역,0-factor, 출력 압력, TV 응답과 같은 결과들을 보여준다. 본 논문의 술통 형태의 압전 재질 쏘나 변환기는 유연한 변위를 발생시키며, 다른 형태의 쏘나 변환기와 달리 고출력, 낮은 Q-factor, 향상된 전방위성을 가지도록 해준다. 본 연구에서 개발된 쏘나 변환기 모델링의 결과를 ATILA와 같은 상업적 소프트웨어와 비교하였다.

Recipient S-CSCF Assured (RSA) Session Transfer for IMS based NGN

  • A session transfer method, referred to as a Recipient Serving-call session control function (S-CSCF) Assured (RSA), is proposed in order to support both session mobility and consistency in IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) based next generation network (NGN). RSA session transfer simplifies a basic session transfer operation specified in [1] by using the user agent client (UAC) like characteristics of an S-CSCF. To show its efficiency, the session transfer delay and the traffic cost of RSA session transfer are investigated and compared with those of existing session transfer applications, including Assured and Consultative session transfers, by practically considering multiple session transfer failures. It is shown that RSA session transfer can further improve user experience by reducing session transfer delay as well as traffic cost than Assured and Consultative session transfers.

중공형 전면추를 가진 Tonpilz 트랜스듀서 연구 (Study on the Wideband Tonpilz Transducer with a Cavity-Type Head Mass)

  • 본 연구에서는 수중 음향 트랜스듀서의 주파수 광대역화를 위해서 중공형 전면추를 가진 Tonpilz 트랜스듀서를 제안하였다. 트랜스듀서의 특성에 미치는 설계변수들의 영향을 분석하고, 그 결과에 따라 Tonpilz 트랜스듀서의 최적구조를 설계하였다. 나아가 시편의 제작 및 특성 측정을 통하여 설계 결과의 타당성을 검증하였다. 설계된 트랜스듀서는 단일모드 트랜스듀서에 비해 월등히 넓은 131 %의 -6 dB 비대역폭을 나타내었으며, 해석 결과와 측정 결과가 잘 일치하는 것으로 확인되었다.
