  • An analysis of the current water leak status of understand structure (underground parking lots, staircases, plumbing systems, water reservoirs, etc.) of multi-family housing in South Korea shows that water leaks are found from cracks in all areas of the underground structure caused by the degradation environment (water pressure by underground water, humidity, temperature, earth pressure, soil behaviour and vibration, etc.), which result in various problems, including mold, malodour, debonding of finishing materials, exfoliation, breakout, water leaks in electrical boxes, efflorescence, sedimentation of calcium hydroxide, decoloration, rusting, damages and pollution among others. Therefore, this study aims to analyse the current status of water leaks in underground structure and use the results as the basic data for developing a standard guideline for water leaks and maintenance by parts of the underground structure of multi-family housing.

  • As the underground area of the metropolitan becomes denser recently, an introduction of forced cooling system is under study to maximize the carrying capacity of existing cables in tunnels. Indirect water cooling system laid within trough will probably be adopted for the next 345KV class underground power cables in this country. The system covers a distance of 1.5-3.0Km for one water cooling interval and one water cooling interval is composed of several sub-sections that have different thermal analysis conditions. Thus the distribution of temperature in each sub-section is described by different conditions in general. In this paper a method that can accurately match the temperature of the coolant in the boundary between sub-sections has been suggested. An algorithm to find the temperature distributions effectively in the thermal system has also been presented. A computer program using this method has been tested in a smaple system and the results have shown the usefulness of this program.

히트펌프 시스템의 시설원예 적용에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Applying Heat Pump System to Facility Horticulture House)

  • As the results of analysis that are applying a heat pump using underground water as heat source of facility horticulture house, temperature change in house, growth of cultivated plants and the crop characteristic, the conclusion can be acquired as follows. It was possible to maintain the chamber temperature through operating heat pump with setting goal temperature at $16^{\circ}C$ and temperature variation at ${\pm}3^{\circ}C$. And cooling and heating coefficient of performance in heat pump system are different from setting room temperature and operation condition of equipment, totally in case that the setting temperature in house is low, the coefficient of performance and the in case that temperature departure is low. In case that the house does not heated, the result of the growth characteristic of cucumber planted last 50days is that cucumber grown in house equipped with heat pump is the most favorable growth characteristic due to maintaining a constant room temperature. After 90 days, the quantity and weight cucumber harvested in each house are averagely 9.8%, 13.1% increase and more heavy weight respectively. So it is researched that crop characteristic is superior.

  • It becomes difficult and high in cost to construct new ducts and/or tunnels for power cables in domestic areas. This paper presents possible strategy of an HTS distribution cables for distributing electric power in local areas as niche marketing. Reflected were its important distinction such as system configuration, rationale, establishment of strategy and considerably high economical efficiency compared with present underground cables. In this paper, applicable important items by using HTS distribution cables in water pumping powerhouse and distribution substation as example objective regions were reviewed. Based on this, the following items on distribution HTS system are examined. (I)A review of constructing a model system to introduce high temperature superconducting distribution cables to objective areas is presented. (2)The strategy to capture HTS distribution cable in water pumping powerhouse and distribution substation as niche marketing regions were reviewed. (3)In concrete, system configuration, rationale, establishment of strategy and considerably high economical efficiency are reviewed between existing cable and HTS one.

복공식 지하 압축공기에너지 저장공동의 열역학적 에너지수지 분석 (Thermodynamic Energy Balance Analysis of Underground Lined Rock Caverns (LRC) for Compressed Air Energy Storage (CAES))

  • 본 연구에서는 지하 압축공기에너지 저장공동 주변 지하수 및 압축공기의 유체유동과 열전달 거동 해석을 위한 다상다성분 열유동 해석 결과를 이용하여 지하 저장공동의 열역학적 에너지수지 분석을 통한 에너지 효율평가를 실시하였다. 복공재인 콘크리트 라이닝이 충분한 기밀성능을 발휘할 경우, 주입 압축과정에서 저장공동으로부터 손실되는 에너지의 대부분은 콘크리트 라이닝 및 주변 암반에의 열전도를 통해 발생함을 확인하였다. 지하 압축공기에너지 저장공동의 에너지 효율은 압축공기 주입온도에 민감한 결과를 보였으며, 주입온도가 주변 암반의 온도에 근사할 경우, 손실된 에너지의 대부분이 토출 팽창과정에서 저장공동으로 유입 회수되는 결과를 보였다. 한편, 콘크리트 라이닝의 열전도특성이 저장공동의 에너지효율에 미치는 영향은 크지 않았다.

지역 기후 특성에 따른 지열시스템의 도입경제성 차이에 관한 연구 (Feasibility study of ground source heat pump system according to the local climate condition)

  • The ground source heat pump (GSHP) system is a kind of the temperature differential energy system using relatively stable underground temperature as heat source of space heating and cooling. This system can achieve higher performance of system than it of conventional air source heat pump systems. However, its superiority of the system performance is different according to installation location or local climate, because the system performance depends on the underground condition which is decided by annual average air temperature. In this study, in order to estimate the feasibility of the ground source heat pump system according to the local climate, numerical simulation was conducted using the ground heat transfer model and the surface heat balance model. The case study was conducted in the condition of Seoul, Daejeon, and Busan, In the result, the heat exchange rate of Busan was 34.33 W/m as the largest in heating season and it of Seoul was 40.61 W/m as the largest in cooling.

  • This paper introduces the real-time soil thermal property analyzer and temperature measuring system which is combined with radio telecommunication technique. To measure the thermal parameters in real-time, the radio telecommunication technique are used the personal communication service (PCS) which is in the world-wide serviced commercially firstly by CDMA. The thermal property analyzer has an ability of measuring thermal resistivity, thermal diffusivity and thermal stability. To estimate the soil thermal properties, the curve fitting algorithm by means of the least square method are used. TCP/IP protocol and MTM are used to install the real-time soil thermal property and temperature measurement system at multiple locations along routes of the underground power cables and to reduce the cost of telecommunication.

  • 본 기술보고서에서는 현재까지 발표된 국내외 70여 편의 주요 연구들을 토대로 고온 조건하 암석의 열적 역학적 물성에 대한 실험 데이터를 수집하여 요약 제시하였다. 대부분 특정 암석에 대해 일회성으로 보고되었던 선행연구들의 실험 결과를 보다 체계적으로 통합하여 제시함으로써 향후 열적 환경에 건설되는 암반구조물의 타당성 조사단계 및 초기 설계단계에서 이들의 활용성을 제고하고자 하였다.

  • This paper describes the analysis on thermo-mechanical characteristics of underground cable termination. Specially, the interface pressures between stress relief cone and XLPE insulation were analysed according to the change of conductor temperature and ambient temperature. This interface pressures were measured by real test with current transformer and chamber and the interface pressure was changed with conductor and ambient temperature. This paper will continue to perform the test with various cases, then the relation between low interface pressure and breakdown will prove with test results in the near future.
