  • In order to build up the ubiquitous computer environment, there are many researches on automatic identification, sensor networks, and home networks etc. EPCIS (EPC Information Services), which is proposed by EPCglobal, is a standard on the repository managing tag data that is needed to develop RFID application system. In this paper, the EPCIS repository is designed and implemented. It is able to search the object dependent upon general object recognition and environment information variation. And sensor data, which is also massive data and is changed with position, is integrated into RFID data in the system. By doing so, it is possible to do the convergence managements of object recognition with variations of USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Network) environment.

  • The key of USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) technology is low power wireless communication technology and proper resource allocation technology for efficient routing. The distinguished resource allocation method is needed for efficient routing in sensor network. To solve this problems, we propose an algorithm that can be adopted in USN with making up for weak points of PQ and WRR in this paper. The proposed algorithm produces the control discipline by the fuzzy theory to dynamically assign the weight of WRR scheduler with checking the Queue status of each class in sensor network. From simulation results, the proposed algorithm improves the packet loss rate of the EF class traffic to 6.5% by comparison with WRR scheduling method and that of the AF4 class traffic to 45% by comparison with PQ scheduling method.

  • Indoor location system using wireless sensor network technology was applied for the status evaluation and activity monitoring of elderly person or chronic invalid at home. Location awareness application is transparent to the daily activities, while providing the embedded computing infrastructure with an awareness of what is happening in this space. To locate an object, the active ceiling-mounted reference beacons were placed throughout the building. Reference beacons periodically publish location information on RF and ultrasonic signals to allow application running on mobile or static nodes to study and determine their physical location. Once object-carried passive listener receives the information, it subsequently determines it's location from reference beacons. By using only the sensor nodes without any external network infrastructure the cost of the system was reduced while the accuracy in our experiments. was fairly good and fine grained between 7 and 15 cm for location awareness in indoor environments. Passive architecture used here provides the security of the user privacy while at the server the privacy was secured by providing the authentication using Geopriv approach. This information from sensor nodes is further forwarded to base station where further computation is performed to determine the current position of object and several applications are enabled for context awareness.

  • A lot of valuable-piece of information are acquisited through ubiquitous sensor network(USN) system composed of man-made sensors. The telemetry system used for communicating to access informations between nature and human-beings monitors and estimates the status of infrastructure, utilities and natural environments to prevent hidden disasters, improving quality of life and productivity in multi-directional views. That would be the reason of USN subsistence. This paper will be a review on how to build long-term USN system. Therefore, this paper focuses on reviewing the sensor interface and the sensor network interface and its significance as the foundation stone for varying USN service profiles and showing its development example, and finally proposing a few of things to set up future-oriented USN open system.

  • Recently, as the dissemination of the Internet and development of computer network technology, Research is actively underway for realization of the next-generation computing paradigm called Ubiquitous Computing. It will not be constrained by Space-time and It will be a cornerstone of human-oriented services. Such ubiquitous computing as a core technology for USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Network) is presented. In this paper, the sensor information into a standardized form to describe the information describing standards and USN sensor applications for the service standard for directory services protocols were investigated.

  • Modernized GNSS such as new GPS signals updated GLONASS and coming Galileo promises higher quality and higher reliability for users. Powerful technologies such as Internet, ubiquitous network technology and sensor network has been used to promote a safe and more secure lifestyle. This report describes experimental trials to combine these technologies namely GPS and Sensor Network into a high-performance system. GPS is used to enlarge the communication range, resolving the service area limitations, as a wider service area is required at shore areas compared to urban area. GPS position datum is also used as primary network routing information to get practical Sensor Network. Another application is the under water Sensor Network. Accurate GPS position and time are used to establish stable and high reliability underwater acoustic Sensor Network. This paper describes the background of the project 'Harbor area Marine Ubiquitous Sensor Network', preliminary consideration and testing. Radio and acoustic communication is the main focus of this preliminary experiment.

  • Existing sensor network studies have only emphasized energy aspects that sensors themselves had. But when an actual sensor network is established, biased use of a specific sensor may cause a partial disconnection of the sensor network. It becomes an disadvantage to fail efficient operation of the sensor network for a long time and energy efficiency of specific sensor energy causes to drop the efficiency of the sensor network. When a sensor network is composed of many clusters or made up of a large network, sensor network's disconnection cannot be avoided because they emphasize sensor's energy efficiency. Therefore, it was tried to lengthen the lifespan of the sensor network by making sensors in the sensor network avoid disconnection through even use of all the sensors composing of the sensor network. This article proposes a protocol to maintain a sensor network for a long time by preventing a sensor networks' disconnection through efficient management of sensor network energy composed of the protocols composing of the sensor network in ubiquitous environments.

  • This study was performed to develop a wireless system for measuring agricultural atmospheric factors using ubiquitous sensor network(USN). In the study, temperature, humidity and light intensity were selected and evaluated as major agricultural atmospheric factors. An USN system was designed and implemented by using Zigbex I and II (mote sensor nodes of MICA series) provided by Hanback Electronics, Korea. The system was tested in a greenhouse and an orchard. The experiment results showed that the suggested USN measuring system would be very effective on comprehensive measurement of the selected factors on the basis of time, day, spatial sequence with reasonable costs.

  • The main purpose of this study was to develop Automatic Measurement System for monitoring tree's vigor using Ubiquitous Sensor Network This study also focused on presenting an alternative for monitoring automatically tree's vigor due to Shigometer's limits. Application test of the system in comparison with Shigometer showed that the measurement values were not different to choose between the two, and battery lasted about 1,844 days in this system. To test the sensor network the possible transmission distance using the sensor network in maximum was 130m. Investigation and management expenses can be reduced and labor productivity will also be improved in the forest and street trees.
