Real Time ECG Monitoring Through a Wearable Smart T-shirt

  • A wearable sensing ECG T-shirt for ubiquitous vital signs sensing is proposed. The sensor system consists of a signal processing board and capacitive sensing electrodes which together enable measurement of an electrocardiogram (ECG) on the human chest with minimal discomfort. The capacitive sensing method was employed to prevent direct ECG measurement on the skin and also to provide maximum convenience to the user. Also, low power integrated circuits (ICs) and passive electrodes were employed in this research to reduce the power consumption of the entire system. Small flexible electrodes were placed into cotton pockets and affixed to the interior of a worn tight NIKE Pro combat T-shirt. Appropriate signal conditioning and processing were implemented to remove motion artifacts. The entire system was portable and consumed low power compared to conventional ECG devices. The ECG signal obtained from a 24 yr. old male was comparable to that of an ECG simulator.

  • In progress to ubiquitous intelligent society, there are emerging technologies such smart wear related researches as wearable computer, smart fiber and smart fashion. In this paper, wearable 3D information acquisition device which improved both advanced in convenience and portable is implemented. 3D information input system is basically grouped of some modules; Gyro sensor for acquisition of 3D space coordinate, RF transmitter/receiver, and signal processing module etc. To testify the validity of designed system, some experiments are performed using lest board with respect to the communication distance, easiness of wearable and operation sensibility.

  • A single window platform must be successfully established by implementing CDM/UCR in WCO and UNeDocs in UN/CEFACT, which is part of the framework of standards for secure and facilitate global trade. Core success factors in single window platform for international trade depend on political innovative capacity, advanced leadership of high ranking officials and departments in charge, effective collaborations between the ministries and offices concerned which are supported by supreme executives, self-controlled coordinations between users, convenience and access availability to users, promotion and marketing, identification on predictive impediments, financial raising and revenue model payable, communication's strategy, valid legal basis etc. To settle a stable ubiquitous e-trade platform, firstly, procedures and practices of customs clearance which different from one another mutually must be standardized globally. Secondly, the international standard electronic data exchanges must be introduced to facilitate and simplify customs clearing procedures by holding administrative informations in common between public institutions. thirdly, cooperative work model must be accepted with enhancing outsourcing business between reference groups (export-import firms and IT service providers).

  • Recently, the world's Information Society, already central to humankind, is rapidly changing towards a fully ubiquitous computing society through the development of USN technology. USN application web services provide convenience through environment recognition as well as automatic recognition of specific situations all through the use of USN technology. It has been proven that it can also enable the safety of human life by providing an optimal service through real-time management. Therefore, USN application web services using such technology can be applied to various aspects of life. In this paper, we have implemented a scenario of with a specific user requirement regarding collected meta-data and sensing data based USN technology. We have implemented a visualization of the solutions suitable for each scenario.

  • The paper reviews the relationship between mobile services and u-City services in order to promote u-City service. In the u-Cities, a variety of services are provided based on u-IT technology, which brings the benefits of efficient city management and offers convenience to the city residents. However, most of the available services are designed for the areas of city operation or administrative management, which hinders the growth and propagation of the services. Hence, the paper suggests a concept of mobile life service that is a service that can be ubiquitously accessible by city residents in everyday life. Accordingly, the paper examines and analyzes the usefulness of such services and the intention to use them by conducting a survey among the residents of the metropolitan area. The paper verifies that the mobile life service will contribute to promoting the use of u-City services.

  • Recently, there are many researches to realize context-awareness service that recognizes surrounding environments as context and provide the citizens with pervasive convenience based on ubiquitous computing technology. In the u-City, various sensors collect information as context, and citizens will receive various context-awareness service, making use of their wireless and mobile devices and the infrastructures of the u-City. We designed ontology that is useful to structure information of sensor or device that is linked to networks and use OWL (Web Ontology Language) that can express information of mutual relation and partial situation. And we propose a context-aware reasoning system for personalized u-City services based on collected context information and user's intention.

  • Nowadays, the ubiquitous environment that can utilize the computer everywhere is being formed. As the environment changes, services develop and manage systems and databases that can manage customer information to provide better services to customers through Information Technology. The system that most services maintain is a way of putting and managing customer information on the server. In this paper, we first find the problem in terms of security and convenience. After that, we propose a solution that improves the problem through blockchain technology and biometric authentication.

  • Smart City is urban development for complex problem solving that provides convenience and safety for citizens, and it is a blueprint for future cities. In 2008, the Korean government defined the construction, management, and government support of U-Cities in the legislation, Act on the Construction, Etc. of Ubiquitous Cities (Ubiquitous City Act), which included definitions of terms used in the act. In addition, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has established a "ubiquitous city master plan" considering this legislation. The concept of U-Cities is complex, due to the mix of informatization and urban planning. Because of this complexity, the foundation of relevant regulations is inadequate, which is impeding the establishment and implementation of practical plans. Smart City intelligent service facilities are not easy to define and classify, because technology is rapidly changing and includes various devices for gathering and expressing information. The purpose of this study is to complement the legal definition of the intelligent service facility, which is necessary for integrated management and operation. The related laws and regulations on U-City were analyzed using text-mining techniques to identify insufficient legal definitions of intelligent service facilities. Using data gathered from interviews with officials responsible for constructing U-Cities, this study identified problems generated by implementing intelligent service facilities at the field level. This strategy should contribute to improved efficiency management, the foundation for building integrated utilization between departments. Efficiencies include providing a clear concept for establishing five-year renewable plans for U-Cities.

  • Seoul city provided u-tourism services for inbound tourists' convenience. These services began in April, 2010 and were completed in advanced way by the end of 2011. Seoul city developed a brand fit to the new services simultaneously for communicating it. Recently, there are so many cities in the world that steadily try to give favorable impression and images to people. In the study, we analyze the process of brand building to present a guideline for city brand and tourism service brand building. The study includes a series of brand making process such as environment of brand, customer analysis, design of brand platform, brand hierarchy, visualization of various brand factors, strategies of operation and performances of brand awareness and draw a conclusion and suggest an advice. As for implication, the study shows the necessity of service brand launching plus Seoul official brand(Hi, Seoul), the service brand including ubiquitous concept, development of brand factors with complementarity and observation of systematical methodology.
