Ionospheric storms, caused by the interaction between Solar and geomagnetic activities, may degrade the differential GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite Systems) performance significantly, and the importance of the ionospheric storm research is growing for the GBAS(Ground-Based Augmentation System) and SBAS(Satellite-Based Augmentation System) development. In order to support Korean GNSS augmentation system development, a software tool for analyzing the regional ionosphere is being developed and its preliminary results are discussed. After brief description of the ionosphere and ionospheric storm, the research topics on the GBAS applications are discussed. The need for ionospheric spatial gradient analysis is described and some results on the ionospheric spatial gradient during recent storm periods are discussed.
In this paper a new method for head gesture recognition is proposed. A the first stage, face image data are transformed into low dimensional vectors by principal component analysis (PCA), which utilizes the high correlation between face pose images. The a self organization map(SM) is trained by the transformed face vectors, in such a that the nodes at similar locations respond to similar poses. A sequence of poses which comprises each model gesture goes through PCA and SOM, and the result is stored in the database. At the recognition stage any sequence of frames goes through the PCA and SOM, and the result is compared with the model gesture stored in the database. To improve robustness of classification, probabilistic relaxation labeling(PRL) is used, which utilizes the contextural information imbedded in the adjacent poses.
Various web browsers offer mouse gesture functions because they are convenient input methods. Mouse gestures enable users to move to the previous page or tab without clicking its relevant icon or menu of the web browser. To maximize the efficiency of mouse gestures, they should be designed to match users' mental models. Mental models of human beings are used to make accurate predictions and reactions when certain information has been recognized by humans. This means providing users with appropriate information about mental models will lead to fast understanding and response. A cognitive response test was performed in order to evaluate whether the mouse gestures easily associate with their respective functional meanings or not. After extracting mouse gestures which needed improvement, those were redesigned to reduce cognitive load via sketch maps. The methods presented in this study will be of help for evaluating and designing mouse gestures.
Over a period from July 1984 to June 1985, 39 cases of open heart surgery were done under cardiopulmonary bypass. There were 23 male and 16 female patients, ranging in age from 18 months to 58 years. Thirty cases were valvular disease. The most common of congenital heart disease is VSD. Among the 9 cases of acquired valvular diseae,1 MAP, 5 MVR, 2 MVR+TAP, and 1 MVR+AVR were done. There were 1 operative death[11%] which was done MVR+TAP. Operative mortality in 30 congenital heart disease was 7%; 1 death [5%] in 22 acyanotic and 1[13%] in 8 cyanotic cases. Finally, overall mortality for 39 cases was 8%; 7% for congenital heart disease and 11% for acquired heart disease.
The purpose of this study was to develop techniques acquiring hydrologic parameters that affect runoff conditions from Landsat imagery. Runoff conditions in a study area were analyzed by employing the U.S. Soil Conservation Service(SCS) Method. SCS runoff curve numbers(CN) were estimated by the computer analysis of Landsat imagery and digiral terrain model(DTM) data. The SCS Method requires land use/cover and soil conditions of the area as input parameters. A land use/cover map of 5 hydrological classes was produced from the Landsat multi-spectral scannerr imagery. Slope-gradient and contour and contour maps were also made using the DTM topographic data. Inundation areas depending on reservoir levels were able to be mapped on the Landsat scene by combining the contour data.
Let G be a (p, q) graph. Let $f:V(G){\rightarrow}\{1,2,{\ldots},k\}$ be a map where $k{\in}{\mathbb{N}}$ and k > 1. For each edge uv, assign the label gcd(f(u), f(v)). f is called k-Total prime cordial labeling of G if ${\mid}t_f(i)-t_f(j){\mid}{\leq}1$, $i,j{\in}\{1,2,{\ldots},k\}$ where $t_f$(x) denotes the total number of vertices and the edges labelled with x. A graph with a k-total prime cordial labeling is called k-total prime cordial graph. In this paper we investigate the 4-total prime cordial labeling of some graphs.
Let G be a graph. Let f : V (G) → {0, 1, 2, …, k-1} be a map where k ∈ ℕ and k > 1. For each edge uv, assign the label |f(u) - f(v)|. f is called k-total difference cordial labeling of G if |tdf (i) - tdf (j) | ≤ 1, i, j ∈ {0, 1, 2, …, k - 1} where tdf (x) denotes the total number of vertices and the edges labeled with x. A graph with admits a k-total difference cordial labeling is called k-total difference cordial graphs. In this paper we investigate the 4-total difference cordial labeling behaviour of shell butterfly graph, Lilly graph, Shackle graphs etc..

Objective: O-linked N-acetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAc) transferase (OGT) catalyzes the addition of O-GlcNAc and GlcNAcylation has extensive crosstalk with phosphorylation to regulate signaling and transcription. Pig OGT is located near the region of chromosome X that affects follicle stimulating hormone level and testes size. The objective of this study was to find the variations of OGT between European and Chinese pigs. Methods: Pigs were tested initially for polymorphism in OGT among European and Chinese pigs by polymerase chain reaction and sequencing at the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC). The polymorphism was also determined in an independent population of pigs including European and Chinese Meishan (ME) breeds at the National Institute of Animal Science (NIAS, RDA, Korea). Results: The intron 20 of OGT from European and Chinese pigs was 514 and 233 bp, respectively, in the pigs tested initially. They included 1 White composite (WC) boar and 7 sows ($2Minzu{\times}WC$, $2Duroc\;[DU]{\times}WC$, $2ME{\times}WC$, $1Fengzing{\times}WC$) at USMARC. The 281-bp difference was due to an inserted 276-bp element and GACTT in European pigs. When additional WC and ME boars, the grandparents that were used to generate the $1/2ME{\times}1/2WC$ parents, and the 84 boars of 16 litters from mating of $1/2ME{\times}1/2WC$ parents were analyzed, the breeds of origin of X chromosome quantitative trait locus (QTL) were confirmed. The polymorphism was determined in an independent population of pigs including DU, Landrace, Yorkshire, and ME breeds at NIAS. OGT was placed at position 67 cM on the chromosome X of the USMARC swine linkage map. Conclusion: There was complete concordance with the insertion in European pigs at USMARC and NIAS. This polymorphism could be a useful marker to identify the breed of origin of X chromosome QTL in pigs produced by crossbreeding Chinese and European pigs.
Purpose: Maximizing human comfort in design of medical environments depends immensely on specialized architects particularly critical care design; the study proposes Evidence-Based Design as an apparent analog to Evidence-Based Medicine. Healthcare facility designs are substantially based on the findings of study in an effort to design environments that augment care by improving patient safety and being therapeutic. On SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) t-test is applied to simulate two independent variables of PDR (Pre Design-Research) and POE (Post- Occupancy Evaluation). PDR is conducted on relatively new hospital Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital to analyse visibility from researchers' point of view, here the ICU is arranged in I-Shape. POE is applied on Dongguk University Ilsan Hospital to simulate walking on LogWare where two NS are designed based on L- Shape and Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, The Catholic University of Korea where five NS are functional for ICU Intensive Care Unit, Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Korean Oriental Medical Care Unit which are mostly arranged in U-Shape, and walking pattern is recognized to be in a zigzag path. Method: T-Test is applied on two dependent communication variables: walkability and visibility, with confidence interval of 95%. This study systematically analyses the Nurse Station (NS) typo-morphology, and simulates nurse horizontal circulation, by computing round route visits to patient's bed, then estimating minimum round route on LogWare stop sequence software. The visual connectivity is measured on depth map graphs. Hence the aim is to reduce staff stress and fatigue for better patients care by minimizing staff horizontal travel time and to facilitate nurse walk path and support space distribution by increasing effectiveness in delivering care. Result: Applying visibility graph and isovist field on space syntax on I- Shape, L- Shape and U- Shape ICU (SICU, MICU and CCU) configuration, I-shape facilitated 20% more patients in linear view as they stir to rise from their beds from nurse station compared to U-shape. In conclusion, it was proved that U-Shape supply minimum walking and maximum visibility; and L shape provides just visibility as the nurse is at pivot. I shape provides panoramic view from the Nurse Station but very rigorous walking.
