  • 공간정보 서비스는 U-City 거주자들의 편의와 안전을 위해 없어서는 안 될 중요한 요소이다. U-City에 필요한 공간정보로는 수치지도와 정사영상 그리고 각종 시설도와 단지배치도 등이 되며, 신도시의 경우에는 각종 측량장비, GPS, 항공/지상 LiDAR, RFID, 항공/위성영상 등이 활용되고 있다. 특히, 위성영상은 획득 범위의 제한이 없고, 단시간에 넓은 지역을 촬영함으로써 광범위한 지형자료를 획득할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 또 최근 들어 공간해상도의 비약적인 발전으로 위성영상 기반의 공간정보 추출 연구가 활발히 진행 중이다. 본 논문에서는 위성영상 기반의 U-City 내 각종 시스템의 도시기능 및 분석 기능에 지원할 수 있는 역할을 나열하고 이를 위한 처리 방법의 특이성 및 효과를 분석한다.

  • Development of Information Technology and knowledge information society transfer brought huge change of education training field. According as Ubiquitous society approaches, e-Learning will be evolving by u-Learning. This presages in other form with present that professor-learner environment may change. This study proposes and embodied administration method of various studying contents by development of Learning environment, And through operation platform analysis, proposed LMS that can do practical use of contents efficiently.

  • The Ubiquitous Sensor Network, a new computing paradigm, is a core technology of ubiquitous computing for context-awareness monitoring system using sensor networks. Recently, ubiquitous campus has been developed to build ubiquitous computing environments in many universities. In this paper, I propose the development of context-awareness monitoring system, to acquire the context information through various sensors and provide the campus information and safety services for students with disabilities using mobile devices. Ubiquitous sensor system based on u-campus technology for students with disabilities can especially be used to provide customized information.

  • In this paper we suggest the technique to improve the reliability of U-Health system. The idea is that a video recoding start at only the emergency data of patients. This technique reduces the reliability of U-Health system. In the suggested U-Health system based on video control technique, bio sensors are used to send the state information of patients to a server. The server analyzes the health state of patients from base nodes and start video recoding and sends the video information about the patients in the emergent state to the nearest hospital.

  • 한 때 명사 앞에 'e'를 붙여 신기술임을 표시하곤 했다. e메일ㆍe북ㆍe러닝ㆍe비즈니스ㆍe스포츠등 많은 부분에 접두어처럼 e를 붙여 'Electronic' 개념의 첨단성을 강조했고, 이러한 유행은 'e편한 세상','e스테이션'등의 브랜드명으로도 발전했다. 이러한 e의 유행 패턴을 넘겨받은게 접두어'u'이다. 이제 u라는 접두어가 붙은 용어를 쉽게 접할 수 있다.u코리아에서부터 시작하여, u시티ㆍu북ㆍu러닝ㆍu환경ㆍu교통ㆍu행정등 대부분의 일반명사 앞에 u를 붙여서 사용하는 현상을 보게 된다. 굳이 부연 설명을 하지 않더라도 이 u가 유비쿼터스(Ubiquitous)의 머리글자 u를 칭하고 있음은 일반적 상식이 되어있다. 정말 u세상이 온 것일까? 이번 모바일 핫토크에서는 2006년 첫 주제로 유비쿼터스 세상에 대해 다루고자 한다.

  • This study proposed the ubiquitous learning system by finding the difficulties which students have in learning the course of science and analyzing the current learning applications that are used commercially. Through case studies, we found 4 problems. First, the request of long learning time by most of the existing video-based learning applications. Second, it is impossible to know their level of learning due to the lack of open learning contents. Third, it is difficult for learners to participate in interactive learning. Fourth, there are educational contents without considerations on the level of learners. To refine the difficulties due to these problems, we designed and implemented a new ubiquitous learning system which applies the small learning contents for short-term learning, open learning system and enhanced hierarchical learning contents. The system was implemented based on Android. It provides learners with useful science education. We conducted a questionnaire for third grade middle school students in order to show that the proposed system has a good educational effects. The questionnaire asks for the differences between the proposed ubiquitous learning system and the existing learning application. We concluded that the proposed system is better than the existing application by using t-test for improvement of learning effects using feedback with which students participate in interactive learning but not in unidirectional learning, and share the learning result.

  • Today, the Publishing world goes to meet 'U-Publishing' which means the time of 'Ubiquitous Publishing 'in the Latin language. The concept of book evolves into the concept of U-Book beyond the concept of e-book from the concept of paper media book of the past Although the concept of book changes according to the times and media, there are design values which is changing and which isn't changing. We can regard these points of views as the immediate and the ultimate value. The immediate value means the values of the present time which explains the sprit of the time, and the ultimate value means what will not change beyond the time in spite of the difference of media which delivers design. This paper deals with the design of U-book concept which has been appear since 2n5 from the standpoint of the immediate and the ultimate value.

  • Recently major developed countries such as U.S. and EU selected u-health as future growth engine industry, and concentrated their capabilities. Major companies all around the world entered this u-health business, too. Most of the research in this field have confined their research focus on the elementary technologies for infrastructure building. This research systematically investigates u-health business models with various objectives in various sub-fields. For this purpose, the value chain of u-health industry is analyzed, and then various business model cases are explored all around the world. Finally, the future changes possible to occur in the life insurance industries are analyzed.

  • The concept of u-Vehicle is a technological model that people try to build the ubiquitous world in the car which moves, by using the RFID technology as well as the telematics service based on the location. RFID is weak on the point of information security because RFID has possibility for being abused such as chasing, counterfeiting, and invading personal privacy. RFID's tags use a weak cryptographic algorithm. This paper presents the vulnerabilities of information security under u-Vehicle environments. To solve that, we propose a mechanism enhancing RFID tag's security but with low cost by reducing the number of mutual authentication stages and using the hash function.

Design of U-School Framework Based on User-Centric Scenario (사용자 중심 시나리오에 따른 U-스풀 프레임워크 설계)

  • In the age of ubiquitous computing, computer systems will be seamlessly integrated into our everyday life, providing services and information to us in an anywhere, anytime fashion. This ubiquitous computing can be used for developing a ubiquitous learning (U-learning). In this paper, we present a framework for U-school in which ubiquitous computing technologies are applied to advance the existing ERSS (Korea's Educational Resources Sharing System). Our framework applies mobile, sensor, and context-aware technologies to the existing ERSS. This framework presents a user-centric learning environment, using user-centric scenario. The U-school with context-aware services therefore can lead to the just-in-time learning or learner-led learning based on dynamic contexts acquired from learners, teachers and computing entities.
