  • Recently, network coding has been actively studied to increase the spectral efficiency of two-way relay wireless channels such as cellular systems as well as broadcasting systems. In this paper, we derive the average transmission capacity and the outage probability of a network coding system, which utilizes two-way data transmission via the best relay rather than multiple relays. Since the data unbalance between the forward and the reverse link in two-way communication systems exists, we include the asymmetric link as well as the symmetric link in the analysis. It is noticed that the space diversity gain increases as the increase of the number of relays. Also we obtain 11.4 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) gain with 9 relays compared to that with single relay in symmetrical link at the given conditions. In asymmetrical links, we denotes that the outage probability is more sensitive to the number of relays rather than data unbalance between the links.

  • Due to the wide application of fifth generation communication, wireless sensor networks have become an indispensable part in our daily life. In this paper, we analyze physical layer security for two-way relay with energy harvesting (EH), where power splitter is considered at relay. And two kinds of combined methods, i.e., selection combining (SC) and maximum ratio combining (MRC) schemes, are employed at eavesdropper. What's more, the closed-form expressions for security performance are derived. For comparison purposes, this security behaviors for orthogonal multiple access (OMA) networks are also investigated. To gain deeper insights, the end-to-end throughput and approximate derivations of secrecy outage probability (SOP) under the high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regime are studied. Practical Monte-Carlo simulative results verify the numerical analysis and indicate that: i) The secure performance of SC scheme is superior to MRC scheme because of being applied on eavesdropper; ii) The secure behaviors can be affected by various parameters like power allocation coefficients, transmission rate, etc; iii) In the low and medium SNR region, the security and channel capacity are higher for cooperative non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems in contrast with OMA systems; iv) The systematic throughput can be improved by changing the energy conversion efficiency and power splitting factor. The purpose of this study is to provide theoretical direction and design of secure communication.

  • We propose a percolation based M2M networking architecture and its data transmission method. The proposed network architecture can be server-free and router-free, which allows us to operate routing efficiently with percolations based on six degrees of separation theory in small world network modeling. The data transmission can be divided into two phases: routing and data transmission phases. In the routing phase, probe packets will be transmitted and forwarded in the network thus multiple paths are selected and performed based on the constriction of the maximum hop number. In the second phase, the information will be encoded, say, with the fountain codes, and transmitted using the paths generated in the first phase. In such a way, an efficient routing and data transmission mechanism can be built, which allow us to construct a low-cost, flexible and ubiquitous network. Such a networking architecture and data transmission can be used in many M2M communications, such as the stub network of internet of things, and deep space networking, and so on.

  • In this paper, we propose a STF(Space-Time-Frequency) coded OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) transmission scheme as an attractive solution for high bit rate data transmission in a multipath fading environment. STBC(Space-Time Block Coding) has been proposed as a simple diversity scheme using two transmit antennas. Also ST-OFDM(Space-Time Block Coded OFDM) and SF-OFDM(Space-Frequency Block Coded OFDM) transmission scheme, that the STBC is applied to the OFDM, has been proposed. In this paper, we propose STF-OFDM transmission scheme that to coded in time, space and frequency domain. The STF-OFDM transmission scheme that we propose in this paper is the way to improve a performance of conventional ST-OFDM, by using frequency diversity.

  • The distributed flexible alternative current transmission system (D-FACTS) is a recently developed FACTS technology. Distributed Static Series Compensator (DSSC) is one example of DFACTS devices. DSSC functions in the same way as a Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC), but is smaller in size, lower in price, and possesses more capabilities. Likewise, DSSC lies in transmission lines in a distributed manner. In this work, we designed a fuzzy logic controller to use the DSSC for enhancing transient stability in a two-machine, two-area power system. The parameters of the fuzzy logic controller are varied widely by a suitable choice of membership function and parameters in the rule base. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the fuzzy controller for transient stability enhancement by DSSC.

  • We propose a two-way multi-hop relaying scheme improving the throughput as well as enlarging the coverage for ship-to-ship communications in multi-ship marine networks. The proposed scheme reduces the time slots required for the data exchange by designing data transmission and network coding procedures in a sophisticated way based on two-phase digital network coding. Simulation results show that the proposed two-way multi-hop relaying scheme improves the throughput of the conventional one about 5/3 times.

  • In this paper, we investigate an individual channel estimation problem for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) two-way amplify-and-forward (AF) relay networks. To avoid self-interference during the estimation of the individual MIMO channels, a novel blind interference cancellation (BIC) approach is proposed based on an orthogonal preceding framework, where a pair of orthogonal precoding matrices is utilized at the source nodes. By designing an optimal decoding scheme, we propose to decompose the bidirectional transmission into a pair of unidirectional transmissions. Unlike most existing approaches, we make the practical assumption that the nonreciprocal MIMO channel and the mutual interference of multiple antennas are both taken into consideration. Under the precoding framework, we employ an orthogonal superimposed training strategy to obtain the individual MIMO channels. However, the AF strategy causes the noise at the terminal to be the sum of the local noise and the relay-propagated noise. To remove the relay-propagated noise during the estimation of the second-hop channel, a partial noise-nulling method is designed. We also derive a closed-form expression for the total mean square error (MSE) of the MIMO channel from which we compute the optimal power allocation. The simulation results demonstrate that the analytical and simulated curves match fully.

  • This paper presents a way to maximize transmission efficiency and reception ability through transmission diversity technology, which can be adapted to wireless multimedia Wireless LAN system. The presented method is a comparative analysis between a case where parameter a for time average is 0.3.1 with consideration of channel presumption with two types of rms delayed spread, which is 50nsec. 150nsec, for the performance analysis of STTC (Space-Time Trellis Code) adopting time-space ciphering method appropriate for MIMO channel, and performance in the case where presumed channel value from long training column section is applied to according frame in a single frame. The result showed that BER brought SNR improvement of l.0dB in $10^{-3}$ when a was 0.3 than adopting only the long training column, and showed increase of general performance improvement for the sake of time average rather than the case without.

  • There has been a recent upsurge in demand for the improvement of car reliability in the Northern American which is the primary market of South Korea automobile industry. It has been required that the warranty for transmission control unit for passenger cars directly related to passenger safety or security should be extended for 10 years and 160,000 km. In this paper, the test method for reliability and evaluation criteria is presented to evaluate the reliability on the automatic transmission controller. Reliability certification test can be roughly divided into two types: a quality test and life assessment test and a quality test can be subdivided into a basic performance test and environmental resistance test. There are 3 types of tests on the performance test for automatic transmission controller and environmental resistance test is composed of 14 items. Life test is performed with only the product passed this quality test. In this study, operation limit test at the high-temperatures, accelerated life test under specific temperature and accelerated life test for 2 or 3 stress levels are shown as a way for life test.
