The large amounts of high dimensional data contains a significant amount of noises by it own sparsity, which adds difficulties in high dimensional clustering. The CLIP is developed as a clustering algorithm to support characteristics of the high dimensional data. The CLIP is based on the incremental one dimensional projection on each axis and find product sets of the dimensional clusters. These product sets contain not only all high dimensional clusters but also they may contain noises. In this paper, we propose extended CLIP algorithm which refines the product sets that contain cluster. We remove high dimensional noises by applying two dimensional projections iteratively on the already found product sets by CLIP. To evaluate the performance of extended algorithm, we demonstrate its effectiveness through a series of experiments on synthetic data sets.
This paper describes comparison and analysis of methodology which enables us in order to search the projection technique of optimum for projection in the plane. For this methodology, we applies the high-dimensional facial motion capture data respectively in linear and nonlinear projection techniques. The one core element of the methodology is to applies the high-dimensional facial expression data of frame unit in PCA where is a linear projection technique and Isomap, MDS, CCA, Sammon's Mapping and LLE where are a nonlinear projection techniques. And another is to find out the methodology which distributes in this low-dimensional space, and analyze the result last. For this goal, we calculate the distance between the high-dimensional facial expression frame data of existing. And we distribute it in two-dimensional plane space to maintain the distance relationship between the high-dimensional facial expression frame data of existing like that from the condition which applies linear and nonlinear projection techniques. When comparing the facial expression data which distribute in two-dimensional space and the data of existing, we find out the projection technique to maintain the relationship of distance between the frame data like that in condition of optimum. Finally, this paper compare linear and nonlinear projection techniques to projection high-dimensional facial expression data in low-dimensional space and analyze it. And we find out the projection technique of optimum from it.

Projection pursuit(PP) is a computer-intensive method which seeks out interesting linear projections of multivariate data onto a lower dimension space by machine. By working with lower dimensional projections, projection pursuit avoids the sparseness of high dimensional data. We show through simulation that two projection pursuit discriminant mothods proposed by Chen(1989) and Huber(1985) do not improve very much the error rate than the existing methods and compare several classification procedures.

In this paper, we briefly review and describe a projection algorithm for numerically computing the two-dimensional time-dependent incompressible Navier-Stokes equation. The projection method, which was originally introduced by Alexandre Chorin [A.J. Chorin, Numerical solution of the Navier-Stokes equations, Math. Comput., 22 (1968), pp. 745-762], is an effective numerical method for solving time-dependent incompressible fluid flow problems. The key advantage of the projection method is that we do not compute the momentum and the continuity equations at the same time, which is computationally difficult and costly. In the projection method, we compute an intermediate velocity vector field that is then projected onto divergence-free fields to recover the divergence-free velocity. Numerical solutions for flows inside a driven cavity are presented. We also provide the source code for the programs so that interested readers can modify the programs and adapt them for their own purposes.
This letter presents Progression-Preserving Projection, a dimension reduction technique that finds a linear projection that maps a high-dimensional sensor dataset into a two- or three-dimensional subspace with a particularly useful property for visual exploration. As a demonstration of its effectiveness as a visual exploration and diagnostic means, we empirically evaluate the proposed technique over a dataset acquired from our own virtual-reality-enhanced ball-intercepting training system designed to promote the upper extremity movement skills of individuals recovering from stroke-related hemiparesis.

[$Moir\acute{e}$] technique is now being extensively investigated as a fast non-contact means of three-dimensional profile measurement especially for reverse engineering. One problem with $moir\acute{e}$ technique is so called $2\pi$-ambiguity problem that limits the maximum step height difference between two neighboring sampling points to be less than half the equivalent wavelength of $moir\acute{e}$ fringes. In this investigation, a new two-wavelength scheme of projection $moir\acute{e}$ topography is proposed and tested to cope with the $2\pi$-ambiguity problem. Experimental results are discussed to assess the new method in measuring large objects with high step discontinuities.
Many contemporary architectural avant gardes tend to use painting as a medium to create architecture which goes beyond the rationalized spatial conception of modem architecture represented by perspectivism. They produce non perspective drawings to represent spatial Ideas, and expand it through poetic imagination to create an unexpected architectural form and space. This paper attempts to analyze the historical origin and background of dominance of drawing in the production of architecture. It was with the invention of perspective that architectural representation became important tool for architectural production. Thereafter, drawing was considered prior to actual building and architecture was considered a three dimensional realization of two dimensional drawing. Modernist avant gardes such as Cubism shattered the rationalized pictorial space of perspective and found a new pictorial space. They tried to extend it to three dimensional space through parallel projection largely based on the Hildebrand's theory of pure visibility. However, due to the ambiguity of the position of the viewing subject, their attempts could not succeed in creating a new architecture. The new architectural avant garde of the 70's rediscovered the early 20th century avant gardes in their attempt to create a new architecture which can register the fragmented spatial condition of contemporary society, and used painting as a medium to create architecture. Their difference from the early avant gardes was that they used poetic imagination rather than parallel projection in the process of projecting three dimensional space and form from the painting. However, their architecture cannot escape the scopic field of perspectivism in that they rely on the picture plane and the distance between object and viewing subject. Therefore, I conclude that in order to create architecture which goes beyond the rationalized space of modern architecture, it is necessary to resort to other tradition of modern architecture than visual one.

Based on the authors' previous work, where a geometric constraint handling technique for stiffener layout optimization problem using geometry algorithms was proposed, stiffener layout optimization to maximize natural frequencies of a curved three-dimensional shell structure was performed with a projection method. The original geometry of the shell structure was first projected on a two-dimensional plane, and then the whole optimization process was performed with the projected geometry of the shell except that the original shell structure was used for the eigenproblem solving. The projection method can be applied to baseline structures with a one-to-one correspondence between original and projected geometries such as automobile hoods and roofs.

The grating projection method with phase-shifting technique is very useful in measuring the 3-dimensional (3D) shape with high accuracy and speed. In this work, we have developed an ultra high-speed digital laser grating projection system using a high-power laser diode and a highsensitivity CMOS camera. With our system, the optical measurement required to find out the profile of a 3D object could be carried out within 2.6 ms, which is a significant ($\sim$10 times) improvement compared with those of the previous studies.
High-density directional display provides natural three-dimensional images. A large number of directional images are displayed in different horizontal directions with directional rays. There are two different types of display configurations. One is the projection-type and the other is the thin-type. The 64-directional and 128-directional displays using the projection-type configuration and the 72-directional display using the thin-type configuration are presented. The human responses are also shown.
