Characteristics of the Wheatgrass Extraction using Frictionless Extractor

  • Wheatgrass is a type of young grass that contains a lot of vitamins, minerals, and protein even compared to grain products produced from its mature cereal plants. In the context of product development and increasing product sales value, a study on the use of wheatgrass extract as an ingredient of fermented beverage was conducted. In this study wheatgrass used was self-grown using a tray in the Laboratory. The variation of wheatgrass extracts used was obtained from the twin-gear type extractor, slow-squeeze type extractor, and chopped wheatgrass. In the extraction process, the performances of the process: density, extract yield, processing capacity, and the rate of production, were analyzed. For another analysis, the physicochemical properties both of wheatgrass extracts and fermented beverages were also analyzed. The physicochemical properties analyzed included TSS, pH, acidity, and others content. The results of extraction performance analysis and physicochemical characteristics of wheatgrass extract planted at 10-20℃ based on this research gave the best results using the twin-gear extractor. The twin-gear type of extractor used in this study. All of these results were also in accordance with the statistical analysis conducted in this study.

쌍둥이 인접구조물의 진동 제어를 위한 비대칭 지진격리 연결 제어시스템의 매개변수연구 (Parametric Study of Asymmetric Base-Isolation Coupling Control System for Vibration Control of Adjacent Twin Buildings)

  • This paper focuses on a recently proposed asymmetric base-isolation coupling control system (ABiCS) for the vibration control of adjacent twin buildings. The ABiCS consists of inter-story diagonal dampers, a connecting damper between the two buildings, and a seismic isolation device at the base floor of one building. To investigate the control characteristics of ABiCS, a parametric study was performed by numerically simulating the 20-story twin buildings. In the parametric study, the control capacities of the inter-story diagonal dampers, connecting damper, and seismic isolation device were considered as varying parameters. The parametric study results indicate that the connecting damper between the two buildings reduces the responses of both buildings only at optimal or near-optimal capacity. In addition, adjusting the stiffness of the base isolation is found to be the most effective method for improving seismic performance and achieving cost-effectiveness. Accordingly, we presented a scenario-based performance improvement approach in which reducing the stiffness of the base isolation device could be an effective technique to improve the seismic performance of both buildings. However, note that checking the maximum allowable displacement of the base isolation device is essential.

식물공장 적용 디지털 트윈 프레임워크 설계 연구 (Study of Implementation as Digital Twin Framework for Vertical Smart Farm)

  • 본 연구는 수직형 스마트팜, 즉 식물공장 관리의 디지털화를 위한 시스템의 구현을 위한 프레임워크 설계를 제안한다. 본 연구에서 제안한 디지털 트윈 시스템의 세부 프레임워크 모듈은 1) 스마트 식물공장 트윈 클라이언트 2) 스마트 식물공장 트윈 게이트웨이 및 3) 스마트 식물공장 트윈서버로 구현하였다. 특히 스마트 식물공장 트윈 게이트웨이는 디지털 트윈의 구현을 위한 표준 개방형 하드웨어 플랫폼으로 주로 사용되는 Eclipse Ditto를 사용하여 구현하였다. 또한, 각 요소는 초기화 및 데이터 전송과 같은 메시지 시퀀스를 정의하여 클라이언트, IoT 게이트웨이, 서버와 각기 통신이 가능한 인터페이스를 설계하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 프레임워크의 검증을 위하여 식물공장에서 별도로 설치한 라즈베리파이를 통해 환경 및 제어데이터를 수집하여 이를 가상환경에 가시화하는 형태의 프로토타입 디지털 트윈 시스템을 개발하였다.

  • In the general manufacturing sector, prototyping used to reduce the risks that can arise with new conceptual products. However, in AEC area, it does not mass-produce a building, so the prototype itself becomes a building. Therefore, it is challenging to have prototyping of the same scale as the real thing, and the prototyping process in architecture is very inefficient. The prototyping process in the design stage typically assumes making a scaled model, partial model, or digital model. However, it is difficult for these models to correspond to the actual building and the environment of time and space such as scale, material, environment, load, physical properties and deformation, corrosion, etc., unlike the actual building. When using the digital twin concept in the prototyping process, it is possible to measure performance from the design stage to the operation stage. The digital twin was found by a method for monitoring based on physical twins and real-time linkage in the operation stage. Therefore, if the digital twin concept is applied at the design stage, it is possible to predict performance using not only current performance but also history information using real-time information. In order to apply the digital twin concept to the prototyping design process, we analyze the theoretical considerations and the prototyping design process of the digital twin, analyze the cases and research results where the prototyping design was applied, Provide an applied prototyping design process. The proposed process is tested through a pilot project and analyzed for potential use.

Analysis of surface settlement troughs induced by twin shield tunnels in soil: A case study

  • This paper analyzes the ground surface settlements induced by side-by-side twin shield tunnels bored in sedimentary soils, which primarily consist of sand with clay strata above the tunnel crown. The measurements were obtained during the construction of twin tunnels underneath the Incheon International Airport (IIA) located in Korea. The measured surface settlement troughs are approximated with Gaussian functions. The trough width parameters i and K of the settlement troughs produced by the first and second tunnel passings are determined, along with those for the total settlement trough. The surface settlement troughs produced by the first shield passing are reasonably represented by a symmetric Gaussian curve. The surface settlement troughs induced by the second shield tunnel display marginal asymmetric shapes at selected sections. The total settlement troughs are fitted both with a shifted symmetric Gaussian function and the superposition method utilizing an asymmetric function for the incremental trough produced by the second tunnel. It is revealed that the superposition method does not always produce better fits with the total settlement. Instead, the shifted symmetric Gaussian function is overall demonstrated to provide more favorable agreements with the recordings. Therefore, the shifted symmetric Gaussian function is recommended to be used in the design for the prediction of the settlement in clays caused by twin tunneling considering the simplicity of the procedure compared with the superposition method. The amount of increase in the width parameter K for the twin tunnel relative to that for the single tunnel is quantified, which can be used for a preliminary estimate of the surface settlement in clay induced by twin shield tunnels.

수처리공정의 디지털 트윈 요소기술과 추진 전략 (Element Technology and Strategy of Digital Twin in the Water Treatment)

  • 국내 상하수도 시설들은 운전과 관리 인력의 노후화와 같은 유지관리의 어려움이 가속화되고 있으므로 디지털트윈 기술이 유력한 관리 기술로 부각되고 있다. 국내 정수장의 디지털트윈 기술은 환경부의 지능형 하수처리, 일부 지자체에서 독자적으로 진행되는 사업 및 K-water 주관의 디지털 트윈 과제 등이 포함되지만, 적용 범위가 각 기관별로 상이하다. 이에 따라 정수공정에서는 시행착오를 줄이고, 미래 사업 활성화를 위해서는 기술표준화와 순차적 도입과정이 필요하다. 본 연구의 목적은 환경부 스마트하수처리사업, K-water 지능형정수공정 구현사업, 지자체 사업 등 각 기관별로 추진되고 있는 디지털트윈 관련 기술에 대한 효율적인 추진 전략을 제공하는데 있다.

Paleostress of the Joseon and Pyeongan Supergroups in South Korea using the New Calcite Strain Gauge (NCSG)

  • Limestone bodies under the tectonic environment have experienced various tectonic processes, and also changed the stress state. In this study, calcite twins found in limestones of the Joseon Supergroup and Pyeongan Supergroup in the northeastern part of the Ogcheon Belt, South Korea were measured, then the paleostress (i.e., the maximum shortening axis) was reconstructed using the new calcite strain gauge (NCSG) technique. The average twin thickness and average twin intensity increase as the total twin strain increases. We utilize the appearance of twins, the average twin thickness and average twin intensity, and the total twin strain to estimate that the observed calcite twins were produced at temperatures of < $200^{\circ}C$ in the Joseon Supergroup and $170^{\circ}C$ in the Pyeongan Supergroup. In the Joseon Supergroup, the dominant direction of the maximum shortening axis WNW-ESE to NW-SE; NE-SW shortening is also observed. The maximum shortening axes in the Pyeongan Supergroup are oriented NW-SE and NE-SW. The NE-SW direction of maximum shortening is associated with the occurrence of the Songrim orogeny of the Paleozoic to Early Jurassic, and the NW-SE direction of maximum shortening correlates to the Daebo orogeny of the Early Jurassic to Late Jurassic. It is thus concluded that the paleostress across the study area changed from NE-SW to NW-SE during the Mesozoic.

트윈제트공법을 이용한 교대 배면 기초보강 사례 (A Case Study of Reinforcing Ground behind Abutment using Twin-Jet Method)

  • 본 원고에는 $\bigcirc\bigcirc$ 고속도로 연약지반상에 시공된 교량의 교대 배후부지를 트윈제트공법을 이용하여 보강한 사례를 소개하였다. 대상지역은 교대 배면 성토구간에 제체하중을 줄이기 위하여 EPS를 시공하였으나 그 하부기초 구간이 연약점성토로 구성되어 소성변형과 지반변동이 지속적으로 발생되었다. 당시발생한 층별 침하량은 각각 20~30mm의 침하가 발생하였으며, 2010년 4월23일 포장덧씌우기 실시후 급속한 침하가 발생하였고 이후 10mm의 융기가 발생하였다. 이에 EPS 성토구간을 관통하여 하부연약지반에 트윈제트 그라우트 컬럼공사를 실시하였다. 지반 개량 후 Core 채취하여 시험실시결과 압축강도는 2.3~8.6Mpa, TCR 92.5%, RQD 64.6%로서 시험 분석결과 Twin-Jet공법에 의한 지반개량은 전석자갈층을 포함한 모든 층에 있어서 양호하게 보강 시공 되었음을 알 수 있었다.

컨테이너 터미널의 디지털 트윈 기술 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of Digital Twin Technology for Container Terminals)

  • 디지털 트윈 기술은 다양한 산업에서 적용되고 있으며, 물류 산업에도 큰 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상되지만 컨테이너 터미널에서의 기술 도입은 제한적으로 발전하고 있다. 기존 선행연구를 검토한 결과 컨테이너 터미널을 대상으로 디지털 트윈 기술의 적용에 관한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 컨테이너 터미널에 디지털 트윈 기술 우선 적용 분야를 도출하기 위하여 AHP 분석과 IPA 분석을 실시하였다. IPA 분석을 통해 컨테이너 터미널의 디지털 트윈 기술 적용 분야 세부 요소의 도입 시급성을 분석한 결과 ATC, 지능형 CCTV, 컨테이너 야드가 최우선으로 컨테이너 터미널에 도입이 되어야 할 것으로 판단된다. 다음으로 VR/AR 장비, AYT, 스마트 컨테이너, 컨테이너 자동 순환 시설, 냉동·냉장 컨테이너 야드, 항만용 Wearable 디바이스, 스마트 부표의 순이며, AQC, Berth, AGV, ASC, Apron, 자동 계류기기는 점진적으로 도입이 필요할 것으로 판단된다. 마지막으로 OSS 장비, 인터모달 연계시설, 지능형 드론, 위험물 장치장은 상대적으로 도입 순위에서 후순위에 위치한 것으로 나타났다.
