Aconiti Kusnezoffii Tuber has been traditionally used to treat the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and joint pain. The main constituents are diterpenoid alkaloids such as benzoylmesaconine, benzoylaconine, mesaconitine, aconitine, and hypaconitine. In Korea, Aconiti Kusnezoffii Tuber is officially defined as the tubers of Aconitum kusnezoffii Reichb., A. ciliare Decasisne, and A. triphyllum Nakai. On the other hand, only the tuber of A. kusnezoffii is to be used in China. In order to identify the botanical origin of Aconiti Kusnezoffii Tuber circulated in Korea, we analyzed 24 samples of Aconiti Kusnezoffii Tuber obtained from local markets for comparative DNA analysis. The sequence analysis of nrRNA ITS 1 was useful to distinguish Aconitum species and revealed that the roots of A. karakolicum were circulated in Korean markets without discretion. HPLC quantitative analysis showed that aconitine was detected at the highest amount in A. karakolicum. Authentic diterpenoid alkaloids were coinjected for quantification of aconitine-type ingredients. All data were statistically grouped by Principal Component Analysis (PCA). This study suggests that both molecular and chemical analyses should be utilized for the standardization and the quality control for Aconiti Kusnezoffii Tuber.

1. 일장과 온도의 영향은 자연일장에서 괴경이 600mg, 9시간 단일에서 640mg으로 큰 차이가 없었으나 12시간처리구, 15시간처리구에서는 490, 500mg으로 일장이 영향을 미쳤다. 2. 배양액의 농도가 마의 비대에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과 양액은 50% 용액에서 420mg으로 다른 구에 비해 가장 높게 나타났다. 3. 호르몬농도는 NAAl00ppm에서 560mg으로 무처리 및 다른 농도구에 비하여 가장 좋았다.

Sporocarps of Pleurotus tuber-regium Fr. were subjected to aerial and substrate(soil) watering sytems. Although aerial watering enhanced quick enlargment of pilei, those watered indirectly through the soil developed more naturally pigmented sporophores and with higher overall yield. Thus, substrate(soil) watering after emergence is preferred to direct watering of fruits.

The contents of alkaloids in raw Cho O(Aconiti Ciliare Tuber) and its processed products were determined by high performance liquid chromatography. Processing methods 1 and 2 lowered the contents of alkaloids more than the method 3. Cho O processed with method 1 or 2 showed even lower alkaloid contents than commercially available Processed Aconiti Tuber Powder(PATP). The contents of aconitine and hypaconitine in MeOH extracts of Cho O treated with method 3(10 min irradiation) and mesaconitine of Cho O treated with method 3(5 min) were comparable to those of PATP.

A cardiac principle of Aconiti tuber, higenamine was analyzed with a differential pluse voltammetry employing a glassy carbon electrode. The peak potentials for the oxidation of higenamine were varied depending on the pH of the media. Higenamine at the concentration of $5.4{\times}10^{-7}M$ (0.146ppm) was easily determined using a pH 7.0 phosphate buffer. The amounts of higenamine in the crude Aconiti tuber and tablets containing A. tuber were determined by a standard addition method after extracting with methanol, partitioning with a mixture of $H_2O$ and $CHCl_3$, and freeze-drying the aqueous layer.

한국산 맥문동과 중국산 소엽맥문동의 성분패턴비교에서 HPLC 분석 결과, 중국산 소엽맥문동(Ophiopogon japonicus)은 RT. 21.2분의 peak는 표준품과 대조결과 spicatoside B인 것으로 확인되었다 반면에 국산 맥문동(Liriope platyphylla)은 spicatoside A와 spicatoside B가 표준품 대조 결과 RT. 6.8분과 21.2분대에서 확인되었다. 따라서 건조된 상태에서 혼용되어 사용하고 있는 한국산 맥문동과 중국산 소엽맥문동은 HPLC 성분패턴상으로 감별이 가능하게 되었다.

This study multilaterally explores South Korean YouTuber Winter Library's book-related contents uploaded on one's channel. As science and technology have developed, now the ordinary people can produce their videos and share them online. YouTube has been the most popular video storage service, and many Koreans use and enjoy it as well. This study investigates book-related contents produced by YouTuber user Winter Library, often called BookTuber (Book plus YouTuber). More specifically, it analyzes Winter Library's various contents by 1) Components of YouTube Channel 2) Contents of Components 3) Components that help to increase reading rates. This study is contributing as it focuses on book, which is not so common topic in YouTube. As a result, the study discovers unique aspects of YouTube contents, and also explores the book-related industry in South Korea. This YouTube channel could be functional for increasing reading rates, especially among adults.

Objectives: Herbal acupuncture has been administered with Liriopis Tuber extract on the point of BL 13 (Pyesu) to treat bronchial asthma and a certain degree of clinical benefits have been observed but lacking scientific substantiation. Methods: The present report describes on Th1 cytokine (Interleukin-2, Interferon-gamma), Th2 cytokine, (Interleukin-4, Interleukin-5), and IL-12 in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (ELISA). Five groups were devised to study the effects of herbal acupuncture with Liriopis Tuber extract at BL 13 (Pyesu) for airway inflammation in the mouse model with bronchial asthma. Results shows that herbal acupuncture with Liriopis Tuber extract at BL 13 increased Th1 cytokine (Interleukin-2) in allergic sensitization and allergic challenge, and decreased Th2 cytokine (Interleukin-2, Interleukin-5) in allergic sensitization.

We referred to twenty-two Korean medicinal literatures for application of a single-medicine prescription using Asparagi Tuber(Asparagus cochinchinensis) to form the groundwork for scientific modernization of Korean medicine. Our study revealed the following. 1. Principle expectant effects of Asparagi Tuber were prolong life; elevation of stamina or activity; improvement of asthenia; remedy of epilepsy, mental disease or convulsions; relief of xerosis; treatment of tumor, abscess or intumescence; extermination of endoparasite; solution of numbness, etc. 2. The records show that 95% of directions are per oral. 3. 38% of the cases, Asparagi Tuber was used without its jacket or core. 4. Alcohol and honey were generally used as solvent and additive. We suggest to perform the further studies for the scientific verification of the expectant effects of Asparagi Tuber and its different efficacy by processing, solvent and additives.

The hepatoprotective effects of Liriopis tuber on carbon tetrachloride $(CCl_4)$ intoxicated rats were studied. The water extract prepared from Liriopis tuber were administrated to the pretreatment group orally once a day for successive 7 days, followed by treatment with $CCl_4$ on the seventh day. The post treatment group was treated with $CCl_4$ and then the water extract was administrated. The activities of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT), glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and contents of total cholesterol and triglyceride in pretreatment rats serum were significantly decreased compared to the only $CCl_4$ treated rats. The level of high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol was considerably increased compared to the only $CCl_4$ treated rats. In the pretreatment group with the water extract of Liriopis tuber tissue destruction was not observed in light microscopic investigation, compared to the only $CCl_4$ treated rats. These results suggest that Liriopis tuber have potent hepatoprotective effect against carbon tetrachloride intoxicated rats.
