  • Recently, power-electronics equipments or machine that microprocessor is included and computers have been installed continuously in industrial process or region of electronics customer. So concern for power quality, especially sags has been increased. Because those equipments are very sensitive to sags. The sag is phenomenon that magnitude of load voltage temporarily decreases because of power system fault. If a certain equipment in industrial process have any trouble result from sag, it can cause utility to be charged for enormous economics loss. Therefore it need to analyze the characteristic of sag and then mitigation method for sags in distribution system in oder to increase reliability. This paper gives an overview of sags characteristic due to short circuit fault in distribution system and after a general discussion of the various forms mitigation, gives a sags mitigation method with concentrating on mitigation-device interface method, especially FCL that is Fault Current Limiter.

A Study on the Development of the Self test-system for the Marine Gyrocompass (선박용 자이로콤파스의 자기진단 시스템 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the self test-system for the marine Gyrocompass was developed and the obtained results are summarized as follows : 1) Utilizing the newly developed self-test system, the time length for observing the transient state of Gyrocompass reading which has been over 4 hours can be reduced to less than 20 minutes. In addition, the dynamic characteristics of the Gyrocompass can be measured within 2 hours after starting the system. 2) Prior test and diagnosis was done by checking all parameters recurrently with period of 2.5minutes. 3) Testing and diagnosis results was shown in graphic mode and could be transmitted to INMARSAT unit using personal computer. 4) The results of the newly designed trouble algorithm for the system was found to be applicable under arbitrary given conditions.

  • Many new radar techniques have appeared on the electronic scene in recent years, such as a variety of automatic computer processing. However, even with the advent of these sophisticated radar techniques, an old problem continues to plague all radars: the problem of transmission line losses. With the higher performance required today, the Waveguide testing and trouble-shooting techniques remain essentially unchanged in principle. This paper dealt with the rf pulse "Time-domain Reflectometry" to inspect radar wave-guide system and compared with the conventional methods. During the investigation, it was verified that the pulsed TDR for wave-guide is superior to the conventional methods; 1. Disassembling is not needed to locate the discontinity points and measure the reflections of trobled points. 2. The results of the data are more precise. 3. The condition of individual component is able to the photographed and recorded permanently. 4. Since rf pulse TDR is based on the well-known basic radar principle, such a test set requires the minimum of training to operate. With the level of transmission line problems, the prospect of increasing complexity of equipment, and no relief in sight, the benifits must be emphasizied to adopt such a testing procedure.procedure.

  • The failures in the power plant can lead to a dangerous situation according to the demand and supply of the electric power. The failure times of the domestic plant happens very often, and it has been reported as a significant loss by the power sales. Therefore, the power plant is demanded to maintain very well in order to produce a high quality of power. The rate of failures by the electricity facility is filled with 40[%] among the trouble in the failures of the power plant. The failures of power plant can cause serious accidents, magnificent losses, and chaos in our society. So, we require a significant plan to reduce such a serious problem. In this paper, I analysis the failure case of power converter in power plant, and I offer the better solution to be able to prevent the failures from power plant.

  • In this paper, we studied the properties of a cable insulate capacity between surfaces with the variation of the interfacial breakdown. As a function of silicon oil, the variation of pressure and interfacial roughness were investigated. The insulate trouble of a power cable is out of the interfacial parts, which breakdown the insulate breakdown capacity in a power cable. In this study, the analysis of electric field and the phenomenon of interfacial breakdown were improved by increased interfacial pressure, decreased surface roughness, and oil. And It was shown that interfacial breakdown LSR-XLPE insulators is higher that of EPDM-XLPE.

  • 제주-해남간 HVDC 변환설비는 제주 전력수요의 40%를 담당하는 주요 설비로, 국내에서는 처음으로 도입되어 상용 운전중인 직류송전 설비이다. 그동안 여러 차례의 크고 작은 고장이 발생하였으며, 이중에는 원인을 정확히 알 수 없었던 고장도 있었고, 변환설비 주요기기에 고장 파급 영향을 미칠만한 큰 고장도 있었으나, 정확한 분석이 어려웠던 사례도 있었다. 본 논문은 PSCAD/EMTDC 프로그램을 도입하여 변환설비 고장원인 분석에 활용하는 방안에 대하여 고찰하였다.

  • To decrease and remove of much noises that is detected in PD (partial discharge) measuring test. we forced on detection of those. We made W-LC filter for measuring PD. which adapted that to field test. We tested after design laboratory circumstances like field line. and then the phase change properties of detected signal in UHF sensor were measured by Lemke Probe and oscilloscope (TDS-3054. Tektronix). Eventually we checked decrement of noises from experimental result. Also from experimental result at the joint box of 22.9[kV] distribution line. we obtained reasonable data which enable noises to decrease. Hereafter those results will be adapted at ultra-high voltage for trouble prevention and on-line cable watch. diagnosis of those.

  • Korean folk medicine 'GulGeoRiIp' has been used to gastroentric trouble and indigestion from drinking. The botanical origin of the crude drug has never been studied pharmacognostically. To clarify the botanical origin of GulGeoRiIp, the morphological and anatomical characteristics of Daphniphyllum species growing in Korea, i.e. Daphniphyllum macropodum Miq. and D. glaucescens Blume were studied. As a result, GulGeoRiIp was proved to be the leaf of Daphniphyllum macropodum Miq.(Euphorbiaceae).

  • Endometrial biopsy in the horse is an important technique for maintaining breeding soundness by detecting changes related with reduced fertility and monitoring response to specific uterine therapy. A 13-year-old thoroughbred mare had been in trouble with repeated breeding for getting pregnant before the sample of endometrial biopsy was offered to investigate the possibility of pregnancy in the future. Based on the tissue sections examined, the prognosis for this mare to conceive and successfully carry a foal to term was estimated to be 10 to 50%.
