  • In this paper, we propose a reliable Image transmission system with Decision Feedback Equalization (DFE), and use diversity combining techniques over multipath fading channels. It is shown that the proposed system has the features of simplicity in implementation with DFE and diversity combining techniques without modifying DFE. This study includes error concealment techniques for reconstruction of missing blocks in JPEG. To verify and compare the performance of our proposed system, the computer simulations have been performed in three diversity combining cases.

  • In this paper, We analysed performance of adaptive modulation system with STTD. Transmission error of system is increased by ISI according to delay wave in wireless channel environment. Therefore, We analysed performance that it is applied adaptive modulation system with STTD to reduce ISI's effect. As a results, Data transmission of high speedㆍhigh quality could know possible by applying adaptive modulation system with STTD. Because of selected high modulation mode in low SNR.

  • Carrier interferometry code is considered as a promising scheme that provides significant performance improvement via frequency diversity effect. Space-time coding is commonly employed to achieve a performance gain through space diversity. The combination of these techniques and forward error correction coding will lead to enhanced system capacity and performance. This paper presents a low-density parity check (LDPC) coded space-time orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission scheme with carrier interferometry code for high-capacity and high-performance mobile multimedia communications. Computer simulations demonstrate that the proposed mobile multimedia transmission system offers a considerable performance improvement of approximately 9dB in terms of Eb/No in the Rayleigh fading channel with relatively low delay spread, in comparison with space-time OFDM. Performance gains are further increased, comparing with traditional OFDM systems.

  • MC-DS-CDMA is technique where a single data symbol is transmitted at multiple subcarriers which are orthogonal to each other. With this technique, frequency diversity can be achieved. The performance of PSAM MC-DS-CDMA system with the application of MRRC antenna diversity is analyzed. The BER performance of this system over multipath fading environment is evaluated, considering the channel estimation error, carrier frequency offset, and the nonlinear high power amplifier.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel cooperative routing protocol (NCRP) for wireless networks. The proposed protocol uses cooperative transmission to improve end-to-end outage probability. The broadcast nature ensures that the destination can receive a packet from the source or from the relays and if it cannot correctly decode the packet, the successful relays will start a retransmission. The NCRP protocol can skip some transmissions from the intermediate relays, thereby reducing the total power consumption. Theoretical results are derived and verified by simulation results.

  • Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) transmission / reception is being studied in Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) for future evolution of the $3^{rd}$ Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) LTE. Support of soft handover is essential for improving the performance of cell edge users. CoMP provides a natural framework for enabling soft handover in the LTE system. This paper evaluates the soft handover gain in LTE-A downlink. Mathematical analysis of signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) gain and the handover margins for soft handover and hard handover are derived. CoMP system model is developed and an inter-cell and intra-cell interference model is derived, taking into account the pathloss, shadowing, cell loading, and traffic activity. Reference signal received power (RSRP) is used to define the triggers and the measurements for soft handover. Our results indicate that parameter choices such as handover margin and the CoMP set size impact CoMP performance gain.

  • Closed-form expressions for capacity bounds of multiuser diversity combined with maximum ratio transmission (MRT) and maximum ratio combining (MRC) at each link are presented under the assumption of independent and quasi-static flat multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) Rayleigh fading channels. The analysis results precisely agree with the numerical verification results and clearly show the impact of MRT/MRC on multiuser diversity.

  • Diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) is an efficient tool to measure the performance of multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems and cooperative systems. Recently, cooperative multicast system with wireless network coding stretched tremendous interesting due to that it can drastically enhance the throughput of the wireless networks. It is desirable to apply DMT to the performance analysis on the multicast system with wireless network coding. In this paper, DMT is performed at the three proposed wireless network coding protocols, i.e., non-regenerative network coding (NRNC), regenerative complex field network coding (RCNC) and regenerative Galois field network coding (RGNC). The DMT analysis shows that under the same system performance, i.e., the same diversity gain, all the three network coding protocols outperform the traditional transmission scheme without network coding in terms of multiplexing gain. Our DMT analysis also exhibits the trends of the three network coding protocols' performance when multiplexing gain is changing from the lower region to the higher region. Monte-Carlo simulations verify the prediction of DMT.

  • By incorporating a polarization-diversity loop configuration, we have demonstrated the inline switching of transmission and reflection spectra of one of two short-period fiber gratings (SPFGs) with different resonance wavelengths without reconfiguring the filter structure. The proposed filtering apparatus consists of a fiber-pigtailed polarization beam splitter, two SPFGs, and three quarter-wave plates (QWPs). The proposed filter can independently choose the transmission or reflection spectrum of each SPFG through the appropriate adjustment of the orientation angles of the QWPs within the filter without additional optical switches and couplers. The average insertion loss, band rejection ratio, and side-mode suppression ratio of the fabricated filter were measured as ~4.59, ~17.88, and ~19.67dB, respectively.

  • This paper proposes an adaptive cooperative scheme in the cell boundary. The user location and the suitable cooperative transmission scheme are considered in the proposed scheme. If the user is located in the cell boundary, the quality of communication is degraded. Two base stations are used to obtain diversity in the conventional schemes. But the quality of communication is not sufficiently improved because the user is still distant from the base stations. So, the scheme is proposed that the relays and the adaptive cooperative scheme are used considering the location of the user. By the simulation, it is proved that the proposed scheme is better than the conventional scheme.
