To investigate the adequacy of maglev train system to future urban transport environments, first we derived minimum necessity requirements of the new-transit system by analyzing the issues in the urban transit management and new needs of transportation customers. Then the conformity of Maglev train to the requirements was examined. With respect to this adequacy analysis, policy directions and agenda of the making practical use of urban transit Maglev system' is proposed.

This paper suggests improvements in travel cost function of transit assignment model by analysing existing model. Two types of travel cost function are widely used for congested public networks. The one is used for strictly restricting public transport capacity. Another is non-decreasing function such as BPR function. In this paper, we analyse two types of travel cost function in case of intercity rail. The characteristics of intercity rail are different from those of public transit in urban area. Therefore travel cost function must be differently applied in each case.

Urban transit is defined as "Transportation facilities and carriage by track like railway where is constructed and operated in urban area" in Korean urban railway law. Several hundreds of urban transits are operated in the world, and Korea also has 19 lines 590km in several cities like Seoul, Busan etc. In this paper, we classify urban transits and describe the general characteristics of urban transit. And then review major technical issues and present the direction to technical progress.

The present paper investigates the technological and conceptional characteristics of peering and transit in internet interconnection. Especially, the market with two ISP competing for customers is modeled and the outcome with peering is compared with transit. This paper also analyze the congestion effects on retail price and network capacity. When there is congestion effects occurring from network sharing, the retail price is increased and the fixed fee is decreased with the degree of congestion. Finally, the optimal access charge assuring the socially optimal retail price and network capacity is derived.

This paper treats the problem to schedule for train with low transit priority so as to maximizing the number that can be sent during given time without interfering with the fixed schedule for train with high transit priority in a track. We transform the this problem into Time-Expanded Network without traverse time through application of Ford-Fulkerson Model, develop a TENET GENerator(TENETGEN) and obtain the data of TENET using developed TENETGEN. Finally, we seek the optimal solution to these data with Dinic's Maximal-Flow Algorithm and examine the availability of our procedures in personal computer.

Rail transport has grown over the Past decades, and rail networks have highly concentrated in urban area, and it is possible for rail passengers to choose a route anions a number of alternative routes. Analysis of factors influencing the choice of route, are required to estimate the rail travel demand of each route. In this paper, we describes route choice model for the transit assignment and characteristics of the route choice(i.e., by relative travel time and fares), and attempts to estimate travel demand of new rail transit based on the slated preference(SP) survey data of Nanko Porttown, which is located in Osaka, Japan.

The ATO(Automatic Train Operation System) system is equipment for automatic and driverless operation of electric train with minimum control of operator. In this paper, we made ATO system with national technic and passed type test. We are convinced of reliability and safety of the ATO system on the seoul metro 7 line.

A signal system is critical point of transport capacity and train operation in urban rail transit. Today the moving block system by radio is taking place of the fixed block system by track circuit for efficiency and short headway in underground railway and right rail transit. In this study, assuming specification of a train, track and control system, the minimum headway on the moving block system and the fixed block system is researched for the maximum transport capacity.
