  • To analyze the transient state of an induction motor, there have been studies for using the magnetic equivalent circuit method(MECD) instead of the time differential finite-element method. MECD which analyzes magnetic equivalent circuits after converting each part of an electric machine into the magnetic circuit elements, has the merits of short calculation-time and comparatively accurate results. To analyze an electric machine with MECM, we have to replace stator and rotor with the magnetic elements and express the air gap, where electromechanical energy conversion takes place, with the permeance. So in this study, to analyze an Induction Motor with HECM, we express the magnetic equivalent circuit as algebraic equations and then as the matrix for solving easily them. In particular, all relations are formed with matrixes to solve Mathematically them in the programming process later. As a result, this theory will be the basis on the static and dynamic analysis of an Induction Motor.

Novel aspects of elastic flapping wing: Analytical solution for inertial forcing

  • The structural dynamics (SD) behavior of Elastic Flapping Wings (EFWs) is investigated analytically as a novel approach in EFWs analysis. In this regard an analytical SD solution of EFW undergoing a prescribed rigid body motion is initially derived, where the governing equations are expressed in modal space. The inertial forces are also analytically computed utilizing the actuator induced acceleration effects on the wing structure, while due to importance of analytical solution the linearity assumption is also considered. The formulated initial-value problem is solved analytically to study the EFW structural responses, where the effect of structure-actuator frequency ratio, structure-flapping frequency ratio as well as the structure damping ratio on the EFW pick amplitude is analyzed. A case study is also simulated in which the wing is modeled as an elastic beam with shell elements undergoing a prescribed sinusoidal motion. The corresponding EFW transient and steady response in on-off servo behavior is investigated. This study provides a conceptual understanding for the overall EFW SD behavior in the presence of inertial forces plus the servo dynamics effects. In addition to the substantial analytical results, the study paves a new mathematical way to better understanding the complex role of SD in dynamic EFWs behavior. Specifically, similar mathematical formulations can be carried out to investigate the effect of aerodynamics and/or gravity.

TRNSYS를 이용한 Borehole 방식 태양열 계간축열 시스템의 성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on Performance of Seasonal Borehole Thermal Energy Storage System Using TRNSYS)

  • The heating performance of a solar thermal seasonal storage system applied to a glass greenhouse was analyzed numerically. For this study, the gardening 16th zucchini greenhouse of Jeollanam-do agricultural research & extension services was selected. And, the heating load of the glass greenhouse selected was 576 GJ. BTES (Borehole Thermal Energy Storage) was considered as a seasonal storage, which is relatively economical. The TRNSYS was used to predict and analyze the dynamic performance of the solar thermal system. Numerical simulation was performed by modeling the solar thermal seasonal storage system consisting of flat plate solar collector, BTES system, short-term storage tank, boiler, heat exchanger, pump, controller. As a result of the analysis, the energy of 928 GJ from the flat plate solar collector was stored into BTES system and 393 GJ of energy from BTES system was extracted during heating period, so that it was confirmed that the thermal efficiency of BTES system was 42% in 5th year. Also since the heat supplied from the auxiliary boiler was 87 GJ in 5th year, the total annual heating demand was confirmed to be mostly satisfied by the proposed system.

  • 비선형특성을 갖고 있는 실제 무인기용 소형터보제트엔진의 운전 중 발생하는 결함을 효과적으로 탐지하기 위한 방안에 대해 연구하였다. 이를 위해서 동적 열역학 사이클해석을 통한 비선형 동특성 모델을 도출하였다. 실제적인 운전상황의 연출을 위해 잡음특성의 평가에 부합하는 무향칼만필터를 적용하였고 필터성능이 가미된 제어기를 설계하였다. 엔진회전수 센서의 결함을 통한 엔진 결함발생을 모사하였고, 발생된 결함의 실시간적인 탐지 방안으로 연속확률비 평가기법을 도입하였다. 이를 운전 중 엔진결함탐지에 적용한 결과 분명한 결정양상을 보임으로써 매우 효과적이고 유용함을 확인하였다.

CO2냉매용 제어밸브의 응답 특성 (Transient Response Analysis of a Control Valve for CO2 Refrigerant)

  • Pilot operated control valve for $CO_2$ refrigerant is a valve that can perform various functions according to the user's intention by replacing pilot units, widely used for flow rate, pressure, and temperature control of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. In addition, $CO_2$ refrigerant, that requires high pressure and low critical temperature, can be installed and used in all positions of the refrigeration system, regardless of high or low pressure. In this paper, response characteristics are modeled and analyzed based on behavior of the main piston of the pilot-operated control valve. Although various factors influence operation of the main piston, this paper analyzes the effect of equilibrium pressure depending on valve installation position and application, and inlet and outlet orifice size of the load pressure feedback chamber to determine feedback characteristics of the main piston. As a result, it was possible to quantitatively analyze the effect of change in equilibrium and load pressure feedback chamber flow path size on the change in main piston dynamic and static characteristics.

탄성변형으로 인한 틸팅패드 저널베어링의 예압 변화 (Elastic Deformation Induced Preload Change in Tilting Pad Journal Bearing)

  • This study aims to quantify the variation in the performance of a tilting pad journal bearing (TPJB) owing to the elastic deformation of its pad. To this end, we first defined a parameter, "elastic preload", and predicted the changes in the performance of the TPJB, as a function of the preload amount. We used the iso-viscosity Reynolds equation, which ignores the temperature rise due to viscous shear in thin films, and the resultant thermal deformation of the bearing structure. We employed a three-dimensional finite element model to predict the elastic deformation of the bearing pad, and a transient analysis, to converge to a static equilibrium condition of the flexible pads and journal. Conducting a modal coordinate transformation helped us avoid heavy computational issues arising from a mesh refinement in the three-dimensional finite element pad model. Moreover, we adopted the Hertzian contact model to predict the elastic deformation at the pivot location. With the aforementioned overall strategy, we predicted the performance changes owing to the elastic deformation of the pad under varying load conditions. From the results, we observed an increase in the preload due to the pad elastic deformation.

탄성유체윤활해석에 의한 연료 펌프 저널베어링 최적간극 선정 연구 (A Study on the Optimum Clearance Selection of Fuel Pump Journal Bearing with Elasto-hydrodynamic Lubrication Analysis)

  • The electric controlled marine diesel engine has fuel pump generating the high pressurized fuel for fuel injection to combustion chamber via a common rail. Fuel pump consists of a cam-roller system. Journal bearing installed between a roller and a cam-roller pin is subjected to fluctuating heavy and instant loads by cam lift. First, Kinematic analysis is carried out to predict bearing loads during one cycle acting on the journal bearing. Second, flexible multi-body dynamic analysis and transient elasto-hydrodynamic(EHD) lubrication analysis for journal bearing considering elastic deformation of cam-roller pin, roller and bearing are conducted using AVL EXCITE/PU software to predict lubrication performance. The clearance ratio and journal groove shape providing lubrication oil are important parameter in bearing design having good performance and can be changed easier than other design parameters such as diameter, width, oil supply pressure and bearing material grade. Generally, journal bearing performance is represented by the minimum oil film thickness(MOFT) and peak oil film pressure(POFP). As well as the traditional design parameters(MOFT, POFP), in this study, temperature rise of lubrication oil is also evaluated through the side leakage flow of supplied oil. By the evaluating MOFT, POFP and temperature rise, the optimum bearing clearance ratio is decided.

소듐냉각고속로 원형로 소듐-물 반응 압력완화계통 성능 해석 연구 (Investigation on Performance Analysis of Sodium-Water Reaction Pressure Relief System of Prototype Generation-IV Sodium-Cooled Fast Reactor)

  • 본 연구는 소듐냉각고속로 원형로 소듐-물 반응 압력완화계통의 성능 해석을 목적으로 한다. 증기발생기의 전열관 파단에 의한 대규모 물 누출 사고 발생 시, 증기발생기 전열관 내측의 물을 급수덤프탱크로 배출하고 전열관 외측의 소듐 및 반응생성물을 소듐덤프탱크로 배출 할 때 유체의 거동을 해석하여 계통 설계요건의 적절성을 평가하였다. 증기발생기 쉘 측의 액체와 중간열전달계통 내 소듐이 모두 배출되는데 소요되는 시간은 약 50초이고, 증기발생기 전열관 측의 급수가 모두 배출되는데 소요되는 시간은 약 2.5초로 계산되었다. 증기발생기와 중간열전달계통 내 유체가 덤프탱크로 배출되는 동안 전열관 측의 압력은 쉘 측의 압력보다 높게 유지되어 쉘 측의 소듐이 전열관 측으로 역류하는 현상은 없는 것으로 해석되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 SFR 원형로 소듐-물반응압력완화계통의 성능 평가에 대한 기초자료로 활용할 예정이다.

  • 본 논문에서는 항공기 POD용 환경조절장치의 개발을 위한 모델링 및 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 먼저, 시스템 요구성능을 분석하여 ACM 방식의 환경조절장치를 구성하고 성능모사를 위한 모델링을 수행하였다. 다음으로 각 구성품의 개념설계를 위해 주요구성품의 성능변화에 따른 민감도를 분석하고 시스템 요구성능을 만족하는 설계점 성능을 결정하였다. 다양한 비행환경에서의 탈설계 성능 모사를 통해 전체 운용영역에서의 개념설계 타당성을 검토하고 천이 성능해석을 통해 동적 거동특성을 분석하였다.

석탄화력발전소 보일러 연소계통의 모델개발에 관한 연구 (A Stduy on Model Development of Boiler Combustion System on Coal Fired Power Plant)

  • 석탄화력발전소의 보일러계통은 구성기기 사이에 수많은 상호관계를 갖는 대규모, 비선형 계통이다. 이러한 복잡한 계통의 해석에서 동특성 모의는 대규모 상호관계를 지속적으로 추적하는 강력한 방법으로 인식되고 있다. 보일러계통은 공기/가스 시스템과 물/증기 시스템으로 구성된다. 보일러의 오염물질 배출에 관한 최근 환경규제의 강화와 보일러의 물성치에 대한 설게 검증 요건 때문에 상업용 프로그램이 보일러 계통의 해석에 사용된다. 이 논문에서는 모의 도구로써 EPRI(미국전기연구소)에서 개발한 MMS를 사용하여 모델개발을 논의하였다. MMS에서 사용하여 개발된 모델은 한국표준석탄화력발전소의 보일러 연소계통에 대한 설계 및 현장데이터를 시험하였다. 개발된 모델은 정상상태 및 천이상태 조건에서 ${\pm}$5% 이내로 연소계통이 잘 응답하는 것으로 결과에서 보여준다. 이 논문에서 연소계통의 해석에 대한 개발된 모델은 일반적일고, 어떤 형식의 석탄호력발전소에도 적용이 가능하다.
