Research Trend analysis for Seismic Data Interpolation Methods using Machine Learning (머신러닝을 사용한 탄성파 자료 보간법 기술 연구 동향 분석)

  • We acquire seismic data with regularly or irregularly missing traces, due to economic, environmental, and mechanical problems. Since these missing data adversely affect the results of seismic data processing and analysis, we need to reconstruct the missing data before subsequent processing. However, there are economic and temporal burdens to conducting further exploration and reconstructing missing parts. Many researchers have been studying interpolation methods to accurately reconstruct missing data. Recently, various machine learning technologies such as support vector regression, autoencoder, U-Net, ResNet, and generative adversarial network (GAN) have been applied in seismic data interpolation. In this study, by reviewing these studies, we found that not only neural network models, but also support vector regression models that have relatively simple structures can interpolate missing parts of seismic data effectively. We expect that future research can improve the interpolation performance of these machine learning models by using open-source field data, data augmentation, transfer learning, and regularization based on conventional interpolation technologies.

The Analysis of Competition Structure in Business Data Service Market Using Henry Model and Suggestion for Competitive Strategies (Hendry Model을 활용한 기업용데이터서비스시장의 경쟁구조 분석 및 전략 제언)

  • LL (Leased Line service) is a facility-based service as a traditional business data service, but new competition services, such as FR (Frame Relay), VPN (Virtual Private Network), and ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode), are value-added services. Because of different service classifications, it is hard to gather necessary data for the service providers to plan their market strategies and regulations and policies are also applied asymmetrically to each service provider. Therefore an appropriate market classification is required for the business data services. After various methods of market classification are reviewed, the Hendry model is selected in this paper to analyze substitution-degree among brands or among services. Since the structure of virtual competitions is required for the Hendry model to be applied to data service market, the market is analyzed first by the well-known Porter's model. By the analysis of Porter's model, two virtual competition structures are set up - one is for the competitions among leased line service providers, and the other is for the competitions among business data services such as LL, FR, VPN and ATM. After the Hendry model is applied to each competition structure, it is confirmed that 7 LL service providers do not compete directly, but 2 sub-markets exist for the LL service provisions. However, it is shown that 4 business data services compete directly. Using the Switching Probability Matrix from Hendry model, future market shares of LL service providers and market shares of business data services are forecasted. These empirical results are helpful for service providers to set competitive strategies with the minimization of cannibalization effect and they can easily and efficiently predict their market demands.

  • This International Standard establishes an AVI/AEI System based on radio frequency technologies. This system is intended for general application in ITS. Specially, It allows the transfer of the identification codes and further information about equipment and vehicles used in intermodal transport into such CVO and information systems related to Intermodal Transport processes. The aim of this standard is to define, describe and specify Architecture, System Parameters, Numbering/ Data structures and interface related to an AVI/AEI system to provide an enabling Standard, which, whilst allowing the system specifier to determine the performance levels and operating conditions, provides a framework for nominal interoperability. The Standard is to establish a common framework to achieve unambiguous identification in AVI/AEI applications. Thes is AVI/AEI is designed to be an 'enabling' structure to allow interoperability between different commercial systems, and not prescriptive in determining any one system. The ISO TC204 WG4 has eight active work items. A new WI on ERI is progressing quickly; three WIs for the road environment and four multimodal WIs are under development. All Work Items are joint between CEN TC278 and ISO TC204 according to the Vienna Agreement, with CEN in the lead. The work is progressing with some delay. For all the work items, the countries who have appointed experts we: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech, Denmark France, Germany, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, UK and USA.   • A graphene film, two-dimensional carbon sheet, is a promising material for future electronic devices and so on. In graphene applications, the effect of substrate on the atomic/electronic structures of graphene is significant, so we studied an interaction between graphene film and substrate. To study the effect, we investigated the graphene films grown on Ni substrate with two crystal face of (111) and (100) by Raman spectroscopy, comparing with graphene films transferred on $SiO_2/Si$ substrate. In our study, the doping effect caused by charge transfer from Ni or $SiO_2/Si$ substrate to graphene was not observed. The bonding force between graphene and Ni substrate is stronger than that between graphene and $SiO_2/Si$. The graphene films grown on Ni substrate showed compressive strain and the growth of graphene films is incommensurate with Ni (100) lattice. The position of 2D band of graphene synthesized on Ni (111) and (100) substrate was different, and this result will be studied in the near future.

  • Modular building is a prefabricated construction system for building where factory-produced pre-engineered modular units are delivered to site and assembled as substantial elements of a building. There are two basic kinds of modular structures. One is a load-bearing wall structure designed to transfer the load through longitudinal walls. The other is a frame structure composed of columns and beams. For frame structure, square hollow section is often used as a column member and channel as a beam member in modular unit. Lower and upper modules are fasten with bolts via a pre-installed access hole in the SHS column. However, the access holes can weaken the panel zone that would affect the behavior of beam to column connection. The 5 specimens of beam to column connections with parameters of access hole, column thickness and diaphragm were made and this paper describes the test results.

Heat Transfer Analysis and Experiments of Reinforced Concrete Slabs Using Galerkin Finite Element Method (Galerkin 유한요소법을 이용한 철근콘크리트 슬래브의 열전달해석 및 실험)

  • A research was conducted to develop a 2-D nonlinear Galerkin finite element analysis of reinforced concrete structures subjected to high temperature with experiments. Algorithms for calculating the closed-form element stiffness for a triangular element with a fully populated material conductance are developed. The validity of the numerical model used in the program is established by comparing the prediction from the computer program with results from full-scale fire resistance tests. Details of fire resistance experiments carried out on reinforced concrete slabs, together with results, are presented. The results obtained from experimental test indicated in that the proposed numerical model and the implemented codes are accurate and reliable. The changes in thermal parameters are discussed from the point of view of changes of structure and chemical composition due to the high temperature exposure. The proposed numerical model takes into account time-varying thermal loads, convection and radiation affected heat fluctuation, and temperature-dependent material properties. Although, this study considered standard fire scenario for reinforced concrete slabs, other time versus temperature relationship can be easily incorporated.

Nonlinear Three-dimensional Analysis of Piled Piers Considering Coupled Cap Rigidities (교량 말뚝기초의 캡강성을 고려한 비선형 3차원 해석)

  • A coupled three-dimensional pile group analysis method was developed by considering complex behavior of sub-structures (pile-soil-cap) which included soil nonlinearity and the behavior of super-structure (pier). As an intermediate analysis method between FBPier 3.0 and Group 0.0, it took advantages of each method. Among the components of a pile group, individual piles were modeled with stiffness matrices of pile heads and soils with nonlinear load-transfer curves (t-z, q-z and p-y curves). A pile cap was modeled with modified four-node flat shell elements and a pier with three-dimensional beam element, so that a unified analysis could be possible. A nonlinear analysis method was proposed in this study with a mixed incremental and iteration techniques. The proposed method for a pile group subjected to axial and lateral loads was compared with othe. analytical methods (i.e., Group 6.0 and FBPier 3.0). It was found that the proposed method could predict the complex behavior of a pile group well, even though piles were modelled simply in this study by using pile head stiffness matrices which were different from the method introduced in FBPier 3.0.

Thermal Performance of Wooden Building Envelope by Thermal Conductivity of Structural Members (목조건축물 구조부재의 열전도율에 따른 건물외피의 단열 성능)

  • Building energy simulations which are mainly used in Korea have evaluated the building energy performance with the different thermal conductivity of construction materials. In order to evaluate the energy consumption accurately, the difference in thermal conductivity of the wood used in stud for wooden structure was confirmed from the each simulation. In addition, the thermal transmission of building members and the thermal bridge at the conjunction of building members according to thermal conductivity from each simulation programs were researched. The thermal conductivity of pine that has the largest variation among the energy simulations was applied to the thermal properties of studs in wooden structure. The maximum error between the maximum and minimum thermal transmission of roof, wall, and floor slab was $0.023W/m^2{\cdot}K$. Plus, that thermal bridge at Rafter junction on the roof, roof-wall joint, and floor slab-wall joint was $0.025W/m{\cdot}K$. The heat transfer image for changes in temperature and the heat exchange were analyzed by HEAT2 program. The distorted temperature lines were found around the insufficient insulated connection parts. It was predicted that the temperature at the distorted parts in the analyzed image was lower than that of the other portion of the other structures.

Isolation of Flavonoids and Lignans from the Stem Wood of Lindera obtusiloba Blume (생강나무(Lindera obtusiloba Blume) 목부로부터 Flavonoid 및 Lignan 화합물의 분리)

  • The stem woods of Lindera obtusiloba Blume were extracted in 80% aqueous methanol and the concentrated extract was partitioned with ethyl acetate (EtOAc), butanol (n-BuOH), and $H_2O$, successively. From the EtOAc and n-BuOH fractions, five compounds were isolated through the repeated silica gel, octadecyl silica gel, and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatographies. On the basis of spectroscopic data including mass spectrometry, IR, $^1H$-NMR, $^{13}C$-NMR, distortionless enhancement by polarization transfer, and two-dimensional-NMR gradient correlated spectroscopy (gCOSY), gradient heteronuclear single quantum correlation (gHSQC), gradient heteronuclear multiple bonding connectivity (gHMBC), the chemical structures of the compounds were determined as asarinin (1), (+)-catechin (2), (-)-epicatechin (3), hyperin (4), and nudiposide (5). Compounds 1 and 5 were isolated for the first time from the stem wood of L. obtusiloba Blume.
