Differentiation strategies have been suggested as the critical sources of competitive advantage in B2C industry where customers can switch internet shopping mall with one click with virtually no transaction cost. Indeed, competition on low pricing cannot be a viable strategy in B2C industry. Moreover, cultivating customer loyalty to attain profitability is still a challenging task for most internet shopping mall. In this study, we provide empirical analysis results on key managerial variables that indicate the difference between the product categories in terms of customer perception on relative value importance. We first identified comprehensive managerial variables and organized them in terms of customer decision stage. Next, with reference to extant literatures on product characteristics based e-commerce strategy, hypotheses are developed to formalize the customer value differences on the key managerial variables. Empirical testing results indicated that there are significant differences on customer perceived value of the key managerial variables between the product groups. The findings provide useful insight for further study on e-commerce differentiation strategy.

This research is to study the frequency of internet use in domestic trading companies and to analyze how to appear the effect of internet use in accordance with the frequency of internet use. To subdivide the analysis, the effect of internet use is classified into the curtailment effect of transaction & Time. Prior to examining the effect of internet use, I survey the concepts, trends, and prospect of cyber trade in electronic commerce through the research of documents. Before the positive analysis, I synthetically evaluated the characteristics of existing researches regarding electronic commerce and internet trade.

Lots of EDI-VAN companies are in need of transforming their business transaction systems into Web-based e-Business frameworks because of high cost and closed structure of EDI systems. This research proposes several e-Transformation strategies for EDI-VAN companies to adopt Web-based e-Business frameworks such as ebXML and RosettaNet. Four transformation alternatives are presented and transformation procedure for a medium-sized company is described. The result of this work can be used as a practical guideline for EDI companies to develop their own transformation strategy suitable to its scale and capability, while minimizing the impacts on the pre-existing business processes and information systems.

We are very interested in electronic commerce today, and it will is more developed in the future. In electronic commerce, we can easily purchase a cheap goods like digital data using a micropayment system. Though small value is used in micropayment system, it is important because it has many application. The transaction cost of a micropayment system must be small. Many protocols for the micropayment system are studied, but it's not support user's anonymity. In this paper, we examines the existing micropayment system and proposes a new micropayment protocol that have a anonymity.

This paper proposes an evaluation model for internet shopping mall business by defining its characteristics and evaluation criteria. We analyzed the characteristics of internet shopping mall business environments and classified the business into four major categories. We derived the evaluation criteria which can evaluated all categories comprehensively. The proposed criteria are cost, netizen, technology, transaction, and marketing, each of which gives a significant impact on the business profitability. Based on these criteria, a quantitative evaluation method was developed. We also proposed a penta-classification scheme which can be used to identify the overall characteristics shape of each internet shopping mall business site. An actual application of our evaluation model was illustrated in order to show that our proposed model may be used in the real business sites.

Licensing contracts between partners in International Joint Ventures(IJV) have not only aspects of relation contract, which is interdependent and long-term cooperative relationships in interpartner but also aspects of discrete contract which is exposed to opportunistic risk caused by IJV partners who maximize individual profit instead of joint payoff maximization. In this circumstance, appropriate compensation structures such as lump-sum and royalty can reduce conflicts and spur interpartner cooperation. In addition, compensation structures that stipulate each party's rights, duties, and responsibilities under various sets of environmental conditions have strong implications for transaction cost minimization and joint payoff maximization. On the other hands, compensation structures such as lump-sum and royalty in IJV licensing contract have benefits and costs depending on IJV partners uncertainty, partner dependency, and environment uncertainty. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to empirically show how partner uncertainty, partner dependence and environment uncertainty influence compensation structure chosen by licensor in IJV.

의류산업의 효율성 (efficiency) 제고를 위한 중요한 결정의 한가지는 상품생산지 및 생산방법 즉 생산지 결정전략(sourcing strategy)에 관한 것이다. 점차 생산의 대상지역과 방법이 다양해짐에 따라 이는 복잡한 의사결정체계를 요하게 퇸다. 본 연구는 생산지 결정의 의사결정과정에서 흔히 중요시되는 생산비용 이외에 비생산비용, 즉 거래비응(transaction cost)으로 포현될 수 있는 인자를 분석하고자한다. 이를 위해 미국 의류, 신발 산업의 생산지 결정의 첫단계로서 해외기지생산과 국내생산의 문제점을 비교하였다. 의류산업과 신발산업에 있어 적시공급과 품질관리가 생산지에 관계없이 공통된 문제점으로 지적되었고 의류산업의 겋우 노동력 부족과 재료의 공급이 국내생산의 문제점으로, 오랜생산기일과 생산국가의 환경적요소(예를 들면, 정치적 불안정, 정부규제 등)가 해외기지생산의 특이한 문제점으로 지적되었다. 본 연구는 비국의 의류, 신발 산업을 대상으로 한 것이나, 최근 저가의 노동력을 찾아 동남아 또는 남미로 생산지를 이전하는 국내 의류, 신발업체들이 급격히 증가하고 있음을 감안할 때, 우리 산업에도 시사하는 바가 크다고 할 수 있다.

Databases are critical to business information systems, and RDBMS is most widely usded for the database system. Normalization has been designed to control various anomalies(insert, update, and delete anomalies). However, normalized databese design does not account for the tradeoffs necessary for the performance. In this research, we develop a model for database desin by denormalization of duplicating attributes in order to reduce frequent join processes. In this model, we consider insert, update, and delete costs. The anomalies are treated by additional disk I/O which is necessary for each insert and update transaction. We propose a branch and bound method for this model, and show considerable cost reduction.

The aim of this paper is to provide a new model to evaluate the quantitative value of technology(nonfinancial benefits). This new model is based on the technology stock(technology level) ac-quired in R&D process. The model can explain the quantitative relation between the technology stock(level) and the market value of technology as considering the R&D expenditure to acquire technologies above a certain level(>70%) in comparison with the advanced country and the cost to prevent the technology obsolescence. The value of non-destructive testing technology which is one of the electric power technology is measured quantitatively as a case study.

With the Internet, many enterprises have been able to improve their productivity, gain opportunity to get competitive power and access to potential global customers. The why that the support of government is needed in implementation and activation of EC is that EC is the best way to reduce the transaction cost in business process. This study examines factors affecting the activation of B2B and selects the three sides needed the support of government. With that point, This study proposes a role of government in that three sides.
