Result: In the United States, a non-profit organization, Healthcare Quality Certification Commission (HQCC) has set the policies, procedures and standards in the field of health care quality. And qualification system of CPHQ (certified professional in healthcare quality) has been operated in order to authenticate the qualifications in the field of quality management. IBQH(international Board for quality in healthcare), a qualification system of experts in the United Kingdom, was designed to assist the qualification of professionals to improve the quality of healthcare. In addition, Health Research Center of Feinberg School of Medicine in Northwestern University has been operating Master's and doctoral degree programs in the field of the quality of care and patient safety and IHI (institute for healthcare improvement) open school was operating a professional training course related to the quality of care and patient safety. Conclusion: Quantity and complexity of information of the quality of care and patient safety have been increased. For reform of the health care system, a special training course of the expertise and leadership are needed. So far, there is no national professional certification courses in our nation. Therefore essential job skill should be acquired individually. For systematic and effective quality improvement activities, the educational and certification system with professional development model are needed.

  • National Competency Standards (NCS) is a good resource for curriculum development and operations corresponding to the industrial damand. Recently, four-year colleges and universities are committed to a restructuring of the industry demand-driven training courses in order to strengthen competitiveness. However, NCS is focused to train the technical personnel in vocational training institutions(ex. College, Polytechnic University). Accordingly, NCS applications of four-year colleges and universities are hard to find. In this study, we propose a new model for NCS-based curriculum development and operations. Also, NCS was utilized to complement the existing curriculum. This paper includes the following contents; 1) NCS-based curriculum development process, 2) NCS-based course development and operation, 3) learner satisfaction analysis. Finally, this study provide practical implications to four-year colleges and universities to consider NCS application.

  • The most important point in electronic learning(e-learning) is to gain the learning sympathy by improving interaction among the learners, instructors and operators around instruction contents. But it is necessary for the instructor to have active assistance of an administrator as a supporter and an operator because instructors do not accept all the learner's demands. So, operator's activity is very critical in success of e-learning. In this paper, wamine the theory of constructionism to effectively reflect the characteristic of WWW, and to build up a foundation of the web-based integrated e-learning circumstance. The circumstance is composed of 3 modules of the learner, instructor and the administrator. This aims to coordinate instruction functions in order to improve the effect of learning and to intensify the interaction. This paper presents the design and implementation of an e-learning system which is focused on the administrator's module to effectively support the operator's activity. As a result of this research, the system can be used in building up a variety of e-learning in university, that is, general training course and technical training course.

  • As the society progresses to a knowledge economy, global demand is rapidly increasing in many fields of society. In line with this, interest in globalization is also increasing in universities. Accordingly, students who have graduated from universities are making efforts to find employment in Korea, but the barriers to entry for employment are high due to the high specifications and qualifications of domestic companies, so the government, local governments, and universities are putting a lot of effort into global overseas employment. This study is a training course design for the K-MOVE project aimed at employment in Japanese IT companies. To design this curriculum, we conduct a demand survey of recruiting companies and students, and draw a curriculum based on the results. Then, the effective link between regular subjects and K-MOVE education will be described. This study can be a useful resource for education experts planning overseas employment in the Japanese IT field.

  • In this paper, we propose the importance of character education in nursing curriculum. It is quite difficult to define what character is. It is solely because a person's character is very abstract yet comprehensive at the same time. Nevertheless, the East defines character as someone's personality that he or she is naturally born with. Someone's character contains two elements: what he or she was born with, a nature, and how the person has and is to become. The nature is difficult to change through education since one is born with such disposition. However, another half of one's character can be educated to be reformed and developed in the right manner. And this specific education is called character education. Today in Korea, education to cultivate one's character has become a cause celebre, especially when evaluating a nursing department's certification. To be a good nurse, one must not only be skillful but also has the ability to help others or make ethical and clinical judgments. Yet, most nursing departments in Korea out there are overwhelmingly focused on the curriculum related to obtaining licenses and to become a registered nurse. Thus, this is to suggest alleviating such a stress and expanding the curriculum for character education.
