Purpose: This study evaluated the effects of a cultural competence training program for public health nurses (PHNs) using intervention mapping. Methods: An embedded mixed method design was used. Forty-one PHNs (experimental: 21, control: 20) and forty marriage migrant women (MMW) (20, in each group) who were provided nursing care by PHN participated in the study. The experimental group was provided with a four-week cultural competence program consisting of an eight hour offline and online course, e-mail newsletters and social networking services (BAND). Transcultural Self-efficacy (TSE) of the PHNs, client-nurse trust, and satisfaction with nursing care of MMW were measured. Ten PHNs in the experimental group were interviewed after the experimental study. Results: The experimental group showed a significantly greater improvement in TSE, client-nurse trust, and satisfaction with nursing care than did the control group. Six themes emerged from qualitative data: (a) Recognizing cultural differences, (b) Being interested in the multicultural policy, (c) Trying to communicate in MMW's own language, (d) Providing medical information using internet and smart phone, (e) Embracing culturally diverse people into society, and (f) Requiring ongoing cultural competence training. Conclusion: Cultural competence training enabled PHNs to provide culturally competent care and contribute to MMW's health outcomes.

Background: Qigong is one of energy-healing intervention used to prevent and cure ailments and to improve health through regular practice. Although Qigong-neither itself nor its postulated mechanism of action-is within the paradigm of modern Western medical science, effects on the human body could be possible. Objectives: This study aims to know effect of Qigong training in a University student's physical, mental health and self-esteem. Method: There are 120 students who take a Yangsaengkigong(養生氣功) course in D University college of oriental medicine during four weeks beginning in April 10th 2008. I researched 41 of them trained about effect of Qigong training. Result: Qigong training made significant change in self-esteem measurement and SCL-90-R. And there wasn't significant change in KHP and happiness index. Conclusions: The depth study for the each Qigong is needed. Specifically, I think it should be a clinical studies and qualitative research methods for evaluation are needed.

The industry field training course are offered a opportunities for industrial experience to students and Companies can take advantage of advanced workforce with minimum cost. Universities are taking a new collaborative educational systems that require on-site industry for the 21st century. Therefore, in this thesis, We intended to analyze factors influencing satisfaction of people studying in a situation that industry field training has been required to be a mainstream system of education in the midst of trend of changing paradigm of university education recently, and to suggest some possible solutions for industry field training at industrial complex campus.

In 2010 Manila Conference, the revised STCW (International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch-keeping for Seafarers) of IMO recalled that a large percentage of maritime casualties and pollution incidents are caused by human error. Therefore, education and training improvement will play important role to reduce maritime casualties. From this, we focus on improving safety during sailing through upgrading the education and training for Korean cadets by updating maritime education and training program. In terms of a maritime education program from some of the maritime universities in the world such as United States Merchant Maritime Academy(USMMA) Philippine Merchant Marine Academy(PMMA), are compared to the Maritime University in Korea. As a result, we suggest an effective education system.

In this paper, we introduce IT shipbuilding convergenced education program for training human of special skill. A course of study is made of analyzing a survey of IT shipbuilding convergenced core technology in shipbuilding industry. we surveyed marine wireless communication technology, S/W solution for vessel, and CAN & SAN technology in IT filed, and ship-building design and vessel construction technology in shipbuilding field. we put in industry specialist in our education program because we have a gole of training the person are adapted immediately in shipbuilding industry.

The purpose of this research was to draw implications for preparing utilizing and management course assessment type of national technical qualification based on the awareness of teachers in industrial secondary vocational high schools. To achieve it, this researcher analyzed the awareness about management course assessment type of national technical qualification of teachers at industrial secondary vocational high schools and analyze possibility to introduce course assessment qualification, degree of agreement for expected effects, and importance and necessity for the matters to be considered when introducing management course assessment qualification. Concrete results of this research are as follows. First, the degree of understanding management course assessment type of national technical qualification at industrial secondary vocational high schools was common, but the degree of agreement for introducing goal, purpose, and necessities was low. Second, for the expected effects to be obtained when acquiring course assessment qualifications, there were acquisition of qualification at the same time of education, suggestion of studying goal from an angle of concrete and significant performance, systematic education based on NCS, possibility to develop and form training career, and possibility to acquire industrial field-centered knowledge and technology in order. Third, to draw priority of each item to be considered when introducing course assessment type of national technical qualification at industrial secondary vocational high schools, the importance and necessities were analyzed. As a result, for the sectors whose requirements are more than average, there were flexibility of course assessment type qualification classes, preparation of proper measure by NCS revision, relief of edited classes of necessity ability unit, etc.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of sports vision training on baseball player's visual performance and baseball records. Methods: All subjects were 21 males of high school baseball players, and they participated on eight weeks of sports vision training program. Pre- and post- test results were obtained for static and dynamic visual acuity, static and dynamic stereo acuity, distance and near phoria, fusional reserves, near point of convergence, contrast sensitivity, visual-reaction time. Results: Statical analysis indicated significant improvement in most of mentioned visual variables and baseball records (p<0.001). Conclusions: It can be concluded that the sports vision training program improves visual skills of baseball players, which could lead to improvement in the baseball records. Vison training will be a promotor for baseball player to enhance their performance if proper test instruments and training course is supplied.

In Korea, all investigations of maritime crime such as murder, robbery, drug trafficking, and illegal fishing that have been committed at sea are under the jurisdiction of maritime police. As maritime crimes tend to have more unique cases, cause damage on a larger scale, and be limited to evidence that is possibly contaminated, compared to non-maritime crimes, the cases demand maritime police investigators with a higher level of expertise. However, there is currently a lack of competent investigators in the maritime police, leading to the training of maritime police investigators in training agencies. so many of maritime investigators goes to land police training agency including Korean Police Investigation Academy. Therefore, in order to improve the capabilities of maritime crime investigation we must first gather information and data in relation to maritime crimes to foster more investigation specialists, and establish specialized training agencies offering a training course more focused on maritime crimes.

Police education has shown a pronounced improvement during three eras in American police history. as the Reform Era arrived, the police academy was invented. With it, citizen expectations for the police expanded, and the level of competence exhibited by police grew. After the 1960s came the invention of the FTO and the creation of ongoing, in-service training requirements. in recent years, academics in many places-but by no means everywhere-are taking a more collegial approach to training, aimed especially at COP- style policing and the achievement of genuine professionalism. The Korean police training system is less efficient in education methodology, more inappropriate in the switch system of school education and practice, and poorer in educational environment, among others. Based on my findings, this paper recommends several improvement tips. First, legal stipulations on police training should be integrated and detailed. Second, active participation by preliminary police officers should be emphasized in the class of police training. Third, contents and hours for practice should be emphasized to maximize effects of the "switch system." Fourth, the educational environment of the Academy should be improved.

Some major companies representing Korea's ship building actively take part in building Oil & Gas offshore which produces both oil and gas from the ocean. Merchant ships become enlarge and high-powered electric as well as increasing number of Oil & Gas offshore. Thus, maritime university cadets are pushed to participate in onboard training on 440V to 6,660V high voltage ships. Although they have difficulty and danger from onboard training course on high voltage ships, their curriculum is still focusing on the training on low voltage ships. Therefore, this study is to suggest the upcoming education measures based on the questionnaire survey and analysis from the Maritime cadets who had experienced in high voltage ships.
