  • In order to understand information of geographic information systems(GIS) exactly and easily, visualization technique becomes important. In this paper, we consider car-traffic which is one of the information accompanying with a map. Then, a visual simulation method is proposed for car-traffic flow at crossing with the cell-automaton and the ray tracing method. We simulate the various situations and discuss about changes of traffic.

  • The purpose of this study was to predict the future urban activities effectively and rationally. For the purpose, a simulation model, based on SD, was built by integrating economic activities, land use and traffic of a city and by dividing Daegu Metropolitan City into seven districts and one county. To identify the effect of the development of a new city in the Dalsung County area, the future population and traffic volume of the city were predicted, using the model. The results are summarized as follows. The future population according to the development of a new city in the Dalsung County area was predicted, and the effects before and after the development twenty years later were compared. The future population of the Dalsung County was found to have slightly increased, whereas that of the adjoining Dalsuh Metropolitan District was found to has slightly decreased. For the other districts, there were no changes of the future population. It was found, therefore, that the development of a new city would have no effect on other districts. Then, the traffic volume according to the development of a new city in the Dalsung County area was also predicted. It was found that in the initial stage the traffic volume would increase with the increase in population of Dalsung County. It was predicted that particularly,. the traffic volume for the purpose of business would greatly increase. The traffic volume of Dalsuh Metropolitan District showed a slight decrease, whereas for the other districts, there were no changes of the traffic volume.

We describe how to collect and construct the traffic data warehouses from the operational databases, such as FTMS and ARTIS. We explain how to configure the traffic data warehouses efficiently. Also, we propose a quality management techniques to provide high quality traffic data for various analytical transactions. Proposed techniques can contribute in providing high quality traffic data to the traffic related users and researcher, thus reducing data preprocessing and evaluation cost.

  • The payload signature-based traffic classification system has to deal with large amount of traffic data, as the number of internet-based applications and network traffic continue to grow. While a number of pattern-matching algorithms have been proposed to improve processing speedin the literature, the performance of pattern matching algorithms is restrictive and depends on the features of its input data. In this paper, we studied how to optimize the search space in order to improve the processing speed of the payload signature-based traffic classification system. Also, the feasibility of our design choices was proved via experimental evaluation on our campus traffic trace.

  • This paper proposes a new concept of coordinating green this which controls 10 traffic intersection systems. For instance, if we have a baseballs game at 8 pm today, traffic volume toward the baseball game at 8 pm today, traffic volume toward the baseball game will be incr eased 1 hour or 1 hour 30 minutes before the baseball game. at that time we can not pred ict optimal green time Even though there have smart elctrosensitive traffic light system. Therefore, in this paper to improve average vehicle speed and reduce average vehicle waiting time, we created optimal green time using fuzzy rules and neural network. Computer simulation results proved reducing average vehicle waiting time proposed coordinating green time better than electro-sensitive traffic light system. Therefore, in this paper to improvevehicle speed and reduce average vehicle waiting time, we created optiual green time fuzzy rules and neural network. Computer simulation results proved reducing average vehicle waiting time which proposed coordinating green time better than electro-sensitive traffic light system dosen't consider coordinating green time.

  • Vision-based vehicle detector systems are becoming increasingly important in ITS applications. Real-time operation, robustness, precision, accurate estimation of traffic parameters, and ease of setup are important features to be considered in developing such systems. Further, accurate vehicle detection is difficult in varied complex traffic environments. These environments include changes in weather as well as challenging traffic conditions, such as shadow effects and jams. To meet real-time requirements, the proposed system first applies a color background to extract moving objects, which are then tracked by considering their relative distances and directions. To achieve robustness and precision, the color background is regularly updated by the proposed algorithm to overcome luminance variations. This paper also proposes a scheme of feedback compensation to resolve background convergence errors, which occur when vehicles temporarily park on the roadside while the background image is being converged. Next, vehicle occlusion is resolved using the proposed prior split approach and through reasoning for rule-based tracking. This approach can automatically detect straight lanes. Following this step, trajectories are applied to derive traffic parameters; finally, to facilitate easy setup, we propose a means to automate the setting of the system parameters. Experimental results show that the system can operate well under various complex traffic conditions in real time.

  • This paper presents the Traffic information system that based on an embedded WinCE board which has GPS and HSDPA. This system is able to overcome the limit of area using the Internet service which other systems can't provide. When the embedded board receives data about the geometric and vehicle speed information, it transmits to the server via HSDPA/the Internet. The server receives and processes it for the path services. And also we present the path guidance algorithm which is based on the speed information. These algorithm responses to the dynamical traffic condition through updating traffic information. Especially, we suggest a Traffic Status Variable in each branch which represents each road's traffic status. This Traffic Status Variable contains speed, road grade; we separate the road three groups as speed limitation; and past speed data - for example, week day rush hour of each road. In addition, the data of cross about left-turn or right-turn can update. Those elements is consisted Traffic Status Variable.

  • In the present study, a new methodology is presented to study the ride comfort and bridge responses of a long-span bridge-traffic-wind coupled vibration system considering stochastic characteristics of traffic flow and bridge surface progressive deterioration. A three-dimensional vehicle model with 24 degrees-of-freedoms (DOFs) including a three-dimensional non-linear suspension seat model and the longitudinal vibration of the vehicle is firstly presented to study the ride comfort. An improved cellular automaton (CA) model considering the influence of the next-nearest neighbor vehicles and a progressive deterioration model for bridge surface roughness are firstly introduced. Based on the equivalent dynamic vehicle model approach, the bridge-traffic-wind coupled equations are established by combining the equations of motion of both the bridge and vehicles in traffic using the displacement relationship and interaction force relationship at the patch contact. The numerical simulations show that the proposed method can simulate rationally the ride comfort and bridge responses of the bridge-traffic-wind coupled system; and the vertical, lateral, and longitudinal vibrations of the driver seat model can affect significantly the driver's comfort, as expected.

  • Marine transportation system plays an important role in maintaining and promoting economic activities among countries. The accurate understanding of marine traffic flows are necessary for the further advancement of marine transportation system. While many existing researches on marine traffic have been conducted mainly on the basis of statistical analysis using traffic data, ship's traffic flow simulation model was developed in this study. A collision avoidance algorithm was conducted with categorizing of traffic factors such as ship's length and speed. The developed model was also verified by a simulation process.

  • The cloud environment is hypervisor-based, and many virtual machines are interconnected, which makes propagation of malicious code easier than other environments. Accordingly, this paper proposes a malicious traffic dynamic analysis system for secure cloud environment. The proposed system continuously monitors and analyzes malicious activity in an isolated virtual network environment by distinguishing malicious traffic that occurs in a cloud environment. In addition, the analyzed results are reflected in the distinguishment and analysis of malicious traffic that occurs in the future. The goal of this research is secure and efficient malicious traffic dynamic analysis by constructing the malicious traffic analysis environment in the cloud environment for detecting and responding to the new and variant malicious traffic generated in the cloud environment.
