OPNET을 이용한 자기유사성 트래픽 발생기 설계 및 성능 평가 (Implementation and Performance Evaluation of Self-Similar Traffic Generator Using OPNET)

  • 최근 인터넷 사용자가 급증함에 따라 전체 인터넷 트래픽의 90%이상을 차지하는 IP 트래픽이 통신망 성능에 미치는 영향은 매우 크다. 따라서 효율적인 망의 설계와 설계된 망의 정확한 성능 평가를 위하여 IP 트래픽의 특성을 반영한 자기유사성(self-similarity) 트래픽 발생기의 설계는 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 OPNET을 이용하여 자기유사성 트래픽 발생기를 설계한다. 이를 위해 Pareto 분포를 갖는 ON-OFF 소스를 이용하고, 이를 다중화하여 중첩시킴으로써 자기유사성의 특성을 구현하였다. 또한 구현한 자기유사성 트래픽 발생기의 성능 평가를 위하여 다양한 통계학적인 접근방법을 통해 자기유사성의 특성을 분석 검증하고, 입력부하 및 다중화 된 소스의 개수에 따른 영향을 분석하였다. 설계된 자기유사성 트래픽 발생기는 유무선 통신망 모델 구현 및 성능 평가 시 IP 트래픽 발생기로 활용될 수 있으며, 자기유사성 트래픽 모델링에서 요구되는 구체적인 파라미터 값의 결정에도 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

A Strong LP Formulation for the Ring Loading Problem with Integer Demand Splitting

  • In this paper, we consider the Ring Loading Problem with integer demand splitting (RLP). The problem is given with a ring network, in which a required traffic requirement between each selected node pair must be routed on it. Each traffic requirement can be routed in both directions on the ring network while splitting each traffic requirement in two directions only by integer is allowed. The problem is to find an optimal routing of each traffic requirement which minimizes the capacity requirement. Here, the capacity requirement is defined as the maximum of traffic loads imposed on each link on the network. We formulate the problem as an integer program. By characterizing every extreme point solution to the LP relaxation of the formulation, we show that the optimal objective value of the LP relaxation is equal to p or p+0.5, where p is a nonnegative integer. We also show that the difference between the optimal objective value of RLP and that of the LP relaxation is at most 1. Therefore, we can verify that the optimal objective value of RLP is p+1 if that of the LP relaxation is p+0.5. On the other hand, we present a strengthened LP with size polynomially bounded by the input size, which provides enough information to determine if the optimal objective value of RLP is p or p+1.

Vibration suppression analysis of a long-span cable-stayed bridge based on earthquake-wind-traffic-bridge coupled system

  • Wind and earthquake loads may cause strong vibrations in large-span cable-stayed bridges, leading to the inability of the bridge to operate normally. An improved Pounding Tuned Mass Damper (PTMD) system was designed to improve the safety of the large-span cable-stayed bridge. The vibration control effect of the improved PTMD system on the large-span cablestayed bridge under the combined action of earthquake-wind-traffic was studied. Furthermore, the impact of different parameters on the vibration suppression performance of the improved PTMD system was analyzed. The numerical results indicate that the PTMD system is very effective in suppressing the displacements of the bridge caused by both the traffic-wind coupling and traffic-earthquake coupling. Moreover, the number, mass ratio, pounding stiffness, and gap values have a significant influence on the vibration suppression performance of the improved PTMD system. When the number of PTMD is increased from 3 to 9, the vibration reduction ratio of the vertical displacement is increased from 25.39% to 48.05%. As the mass ratio changes from 0.5% to 2%, the vibration reduction ratio increases significantly from 22.23% to 53.30%.

  • An integrated I&C architecture for nuclear power plants is designed by the systems and devices being developed in a project. Its design reference is the APR1400 that was design certified in Korea. Digital equipment and several kinds of data communication networks (DCN) are used. To confirm the validity of DCN based architecture design, the traffic loads fur each network were calculated assuming the anticipated maximum traffic condition. The analysis showed that the utilizations of all networks satisfied the design requirements.

  • 도로교의 안전수준에 영향을 미치는 것은 주로 과적중차량이다. 계속 증가하는 과적중차량의 문제는 오래전 부터 매우 심각한 상태인 것으로 지적되어오고 있다. 따라서 여러나라에서 차량하중의 특성에 관한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있으며, 일부에서는 이러한 변화를 반영하기 위하여 도로교 설계활하중을 개선하였다. 본 연구에서는 차량하중 및 통행특성의 자료를 수집하여 차량형식, 차량총중량, 축중분배, 차종혼입율, 연행특성 등을 분석하고 합리적인 모형을 제시하였다. 또한 차량하중이 도로교에 미치는 하중효과를 교량형식에 따라 분석하여 현행 도로교 설계관련 규정들이 내포하고 있는 안전수준에 대한 분석을 실시하였다.

Condition assessment of reinforced concrete bridges using structural health monitoring techniques - A case study

  • The paper presents a case study in which the structural condition assessment of the East Bay bridge in Gibsonton, Florida is evaluated with the help of remote health monitoring techniques. The bridge is a four-span, continuous, deck-type reinforced concrete structure supported on prestressed pile bents, and is instrumented with smart Fiber Optic Sensors. The sensors used for remote health monitoring are the newly emerged Fabry-Perot (FP), and are both surface-mounted and embedded in the deck. The sensing system can be accessed remotely through fast Digital Subscriber Lines (DSL), which permits the evaluation of the bridge behavior under live traffic loads. The bridge was open to traffic since March 2005, and the collected structural data have been continuously analyzed since. The data revealed an increase in strain readings, which suggests a progression in damage. Recent visual observations also indicated the presence of longitudinal cracks along the bridge length. After the formation of these cracks, the sensors readings were analyzed and used to extrapolate the values of the maximum stresses at the crack location. The data obtained were also compared to initial design values of the bridge under factored gravity and live loads. The study showed that the proposed structural health monitoring technique proved to provide an efficient mean for condition assessment of bridge structures providing it is implemented and analyzed with care.

  • A method of calculating the natural frequency corresponding to the first mode of vibration of beams and toll.or structures, with irregular cross sections and with arbitrary boundary conditions was developed and reported by Kim, D. H. in 1974. In this paper, the result of application of this method to the special orthotropic plates with free edges supported on elastic foundation and with a pair of opposite edges under axial forces is presented. Such plates represent the concrete highway slab and hybrid composite pavement of bridges. The reinforced concrete slab can be assumed as a special orthotropic plate, as a close approximation. The highway slab is supported on elastic foundation, with free boundaries. Sometimes, the pair of edges perpendicular to the traffic direction may be subject to the axial forces. The plate is subject to the concentrated load/loads, in the form of traffic loads, or the test equipments. Any method nay be used to obtain the deflection influence surfaces needed for this vibration analysis. Finite difference method is used for this purpose, in this paper. The influence of the modulus of the foundation, the aspect ratio of the plate, and the magnitudes of the axial forces and the concentrated attached mass on the plate, on the natural frequency is thoroughly studied.

  • 본 논문은 중앙 집중형 무선 MAC 프로토콜의 지연을 줄이기 위해 분할 및 합병 알고리즘-SMA(split and merge algorithm)를 사용한 새로운 다중 접근 기법을 제안한다. SMA의 아이디어는 각 단말의 트래픽 양에 따라 동적으로 단말을 분할과 병합을 한다는 것이다. SMA는 단말을 몇 개의 부그룹으로 나누어 각 그룹마다 서로 다른 타임 슬롯을 할당하는 방법이다. 본 알고리즘은 경쟁구간에서 충돌해결 기법과 아울러 사용될 수 있으며, 충돌해결을 위해 분할 연산(split operation)을, 그리고 동적 그룹 관리를 위해 병합 연산(merge operation)을 사용한다. 시뮬레이션에 의하면, 지연시간, 처리율 그리고 충돌률 등의 면에서 기존의 분할(Split) 알고리즘보다 더 나은 성능을 나타낸다.

경안천지역의 도로 및 주차장에 대한 강우유출수의 특성분석과 원단위 산정 (Characterization of Stormwater Pollutants and Estimation of Unit Loads for Road and Parking Lot in Gyeongan Stream Watershed)

  • Unit load approach has been used to estimate the non-point pollutant load in Total Water Pollution Load Management System (TWPLMS). In this study, locally applicable unit loads for road and parking lot were developed based on the measurements of 9 rainfall events from 2007 to 2008 in Yongin city of Gyeongan stream watershed. Observations showed that stormwater runoff began at low precipitation (>1 mm) and peak pollutant concentration occurred at the beginning of the runoff because of impervious nature of the sites. Averaged event mean concentrations (EMCs) of road (parking lot) were estimated as COD 105.36(62.69) mg/L, BOD 15.94(13.20) mg/L, TSS 183.45(66.52) mg/L, T-N 4.63(3.28) mg/L, T-P 0.45(0.39) mg/L. Higher EMCs at the road than parking lot may reflect heavier traffic. Unit loads Estimated from the EMCs and 10 year average rainfall data were COD $331.17kg/km^2{\cdot}day$, BOD $50.20kg/km^2{\cdot}day$, TSS $580.13kg/km^2{\cdot}day$, T-N $14.68kg/km^2{\cdot}day$, T-P $1.43kg/km^2{\cdot}day$ in the road and COD $186.59kg/km^2{\cdot}day$, BOD $39.22kg/km^2{\cdot}day$, TSS $199.15kg/km^2{\cdot}day$, T-N $9.70kg/km^2{\cdot}day$, T-P $1.16kg/km^2{\cdot}day$ in the parking lot. The estimated unit loads are not so comparable to the ones listed in TWPLMS technical guideline and published data that locally developed unit loads should be used to estimate non-point pollutant loads.

표준트럭하중에 의해 옹벽에 작용하는 수평토압의 등가높이 산정 (Assessment of Equivalent Heights of Soil for the Lateral Earth Pressure Against Retaining Walls Due to Design Truck Load)

  • 교통하중으로 인해 교통시설 하부구조인 옹벽에 전달되는 수평토압은 도로의 차선 수, 차량하중 및 옹벽으로부터 이격거리 등에 영향을 받는다. 차량하중에 의해 유발되는 토압은 등가상재하중높이로 표현하며, 표준트럭의 축하중 크기와 위치에 따라 달라진다. 한계상태설계법은 2015년부터 국내 도로교 설계에 적용되어 왔으나, 우리나라 실정을 고려한 토압하중계수(등가상재하중높이)가 제시되어 있지 않아 설계에 적용하는데 어려움이 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 국내 표준트럭의 축하중 크기 및 위치를 반영한 등가상재하중높이를 산정하였다. 탄성체 지반에 대하여 Boussinesq 이론을 적용시켜 계산한 등가상재하중높이와 2차원 수치해석 산정치를 비교하였다. 그리고 수치해석 상의 한계와 옹벽의 장기안정성을 고려하여 AASHTO 기준치와 차별화된 등가상재하중높이를 제안하였다. 우리나라 교통하중으로부터 도출된 등가상재하중높이는 AASHTO에서 제안하는 등가상재하중높이보다 옹벽의 높이가 낮을 경우 다소 낮게 평가되었으며 옹벽의 높이가 높을 경우 높게 평가되었다.
