With the rapid development of science and technology, several high-performance networks have emerged with various new applications. Consequently, financially or socially motivated attacks on specific networks have also steadily become more complicated and sophisticated. To reduce the damage caused by such attacks, administration of network traffic flow in real-time and precise analysis of past attack traffic have become imperative. Although various traffic analysis methods have been studied recently, they continue to suffer from performance limitations and are generally too complicated to apply in existing systems. To address this problem, we propose a method to calculate the correlation between the malicious and normal flows and classify attack traffics based on the corresponding correlation values. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed method, we conducted several experiments using examples of real malicious traffic and normal traffic. The evaluation was performed with respect to three metrics: recall, precision, and f-measure. The experimental results verified high performance of the proposed method with respect to first two metrics.

In this paper, we classify the transfer method of overflowed traffic from microcell to macrocell in micor/macro overlaid PCS system using CDMA technology, and analyze the traffic characteristics of traffic transfer methods. Soft-handoff is charaterized by communications with a new bastation on the same CDMA frequency assignment before terminating communications with the old basestation. Therefore, soft-handoff is superior to hard-handoff with respect to Grade Of Service, but it decreases the carried traffic of system. Therefore, we analyze the effect of soft-handoff with respect to handoff area variation. In order to analyze soft-handoff effect, we resolve the probability of dewelling time in soft-handoff area, and calculates the carried traffic of microcell using this result.
Video Image Detection System can be used for various traffic managements including traffic operation and traffic safety. Video Image Detection Technique can be divide by Tripwire System and Tracking System. Autoscope, which is widely used in the market, utilizes the Tripwire System. In this study, we developed an individual vehicle tracking system that can collect microscopic traffic information and also developed another image detection technology under the Tripwire System. To prove the accuracy and reliability of the newly developed systems, we compared the traffic data of the systems with those generated by Autoscope. The results showed that 0.35% of errors compared with the real traffic counts and 1.78% of errors with Autoscope. Performance comparisons on speed from the two systems showed the maximum errors of 1.77% with Autoscope, which confirms the usefulness of the newly developed systems.

In reflection of road expansion and increasing use rates, interest has blossomed in predicting driving environment. In addition, a gigantic scale of big data is applied to almost every area around the world. Recently, technology development is being promoted in the area of road traffic particularly for traffic information service and analysis system in utilization of big data. This study examines actual cases of road management systems and road information analysis technologies, home and abroad. Based on the result, the limitations of existing technologies and road management systems are analyzed. In this study, a development direction and expected effort of the prediction of road information are presented. This study also examines regression analysis about relationship between guide name and traffic volume. According to the development of driving environment prediction platform, it will be possible to serve more reliable road information and also it will make safe and smart road infrastructures.

Enhanced network speed and the appearance of various applications have recently resulted in the rapid increase of Internet users and the explosive growth of network traffic. Under this circumstance, Internet users are eager to receive reliable and Quality of Service (QoS)-guaranteed services. To provide reliable network services, network managers need to perform control measures involving dropping or blocking each traffic type. To manage a traffic type, it is necessary to rapidly measure and correctly analyze Internet traffic as well as classify network traffic according to applications. Such traffic classification result provides basic information for ensuring service-specific QoS. Several traffic classification methodologies have been introduced; however, there has been no favorable method in achieving optimal performance in terms of accuracy, completeness, and applicability in a real network environment. In this paper, we propose a method to classify Internet traffic as the first step to provide stable network services. We integrate the existing methodologies to compensate their weaknesses and to improve the overall accuracy and completeness of the classification. We prioritize the existing methodologies, which complement each other, in our integrated classification system.

Information and communication technology (ICT) is a promising solution for mitigating road traffic congestion. ICT allows road users and vehicles to be managed based on real-time road status information. In Tanzania, traffic congestion causes losses of TZS 655 billion per year. The main objective of this study was to develop an optimal approach for integrating real-time road information (RRI) to mitigate traffic congestion. Our research survey focused on three cities that are highly affected by traffic congestion, i.e., Arusha, Mwanza, and Dar es Salaam. The results showed that ICT is not yet utilized fully to solve road traffic congestion. Thus, we established a possible approach for Tanzania based on an analysis of road traffic data provided by organizations responsible for road traffic management and road users. Furthermore, we evaluated the available road information management techniques to test their suitability for use in Tanzania. Using the floating car data technique, fuzzy logic was implemented for real-time traffic level detection and decision making. Based on this solution, we propose a RRI system architecture, which considers the effective utilization of readily available communication technology in Tanzania.

Recently, the demand of the Intelligent Transportation System(ITS) has been increased to a large extent, and a real-time traffic information service based on the internet system became very important. When ITS companies carry out real-time traffic services, they find some traffic data missing, and use the conventional method of reconstructing missing values by calculating average time trend. However, the method is found unsatisfactory, so that we develop a new method based the spatial and spatial-temporal models. A cross-validation technique shows that the spatial-temporal model outperforms the others.

As the number of registered vehicles increases, traffic congestion will worsen worse, which may act as an inhibitory factor for urban social and economic development. Through accurate traffic flow prediction, various AI techniques have been used to prevent traffic congestion. This paper uses the data from a VDS (Vehicle Detection System) as input variables. This study predicted traffic flow in five levels (free flow, somewhat delayed, delayed, somewhat congested, and congested), rather than predicting traffic flow in two levels (free flow and congested). The Catboost model, which is a machine-learning algorithm, was used in this study. This model predicts traffic flow in five levels and compares and analyzes the accuracy of the prediction with other algorithms. In addition, the preprocessed model that went through RandomizedSerachCv and One-Hot Encoding was compared with the naive one. As a result, the Catboost model without any hyper-parameter showed the highest accuracy of 93%. Overall, the Catboost model analyzes and predicts a large number of categorical traffic data better than any other machine learning and deep learning models, and the initial set parameters are optimized for Catboost.

Traffic control is the center of the railway traffic control system. The main objective of railway traffic control system is to minimize delays, providing the customers with on-time train operating service according to the given train schedule. Particularly, within the station control area, the departure & arrival of train. the decision on the train priority and the shunting of train are decided by the authority of the local traffic controller. Therefore, it is necessary to have a lot of information and communications between each departments. And for such decision making of the local traffic controller, not only the communication between each stations are needed, but also the communication between other stations are needed too. In this paper, we have analyzed the main work of the local traffic controller in large scale stations and have designed the station traffic control system needed to be built within the station considering the local traffic. And we have proposed not only the communication with other system within station, but also the communication methods for communications with the neighboring stations.

In order to trust and use autonomous vehicles, safe driving on the road must be guaranteed. For this, the first infrastructure to be equipped with autonomous driving is traffic safety facility. On the other hand, autonomous vehicles(Level 3) and general vehicles are driving on the road, it is necessary to additionally manage existing general traffic safety facilities. In this study, a field management system for traffic safety facilities based on autonomous driving infrastructure was studied, and a pilot field management system was implemented in the demonstration area(Pangyo). The pilot system consists of a GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) receiver, a field management equipment, and a field management app. As a result of field demonstration,, it was confirmed that traffic safety facility information was easily transmitted and received even in downtown areas and that could be efficiently operated and managed. It is expected that the results of this study will be used as reference materials for the spread of autonomous driving infrastructure to local governments and infrastructure construction in the future.
