A Study on the Operation of Education Using Library Using Flip Learning Techniques: Focusing on ubiquitous E-learning that reflects gaming elements

  • Purpose - The purpose is to present an efficient library-use education model in the form of flip learning, reflecting traditional teaching methods and gamification elements even in such non-face-to-face and face-to-face situations after COVID-19. Research design, data, and methodology - Research on library use education, research on ubiquitous environment and gamification instructional design, flip the learning, and gamification elements are classified, compared, and analyzed to present educational models for library education, COVID-19 Pandemic situation, and subsequent library use education. Result - We propose an e-learning content development strategy for flipped learning-based library education. First, benchmark and use the existing educational contents. Second, a user-friendly interface is configured so that learners can flexibly organize their learning contents. Third, it allows learners to experience it directly or indirectly in a virtual space. Conclusion - If the e-learning environment can be standardized to the level of schools or educational institutions, a good educational model that can be used not only in library user education but also in other fields will be possible.

Privacy-Preserving Deep Learning using Collaborative Learning of Neural Network Model

  • The goal of deep learning is to extract complex features from multidimensional data use the features to create models that connect input and output. Deep learning is a process of learning nonlinear features and functions from complex data, and the user data that is employed to train deep learning models has become the focus of privacy concerns. Companies that collect user's sensitive personal information, such as users' images and voices, own this data for indefinite period of times. Users cannot delete their personal information, and they cannot limit the purposes for which the data is used. The study has designed a deep learning method that employs privacy protection technology that uses distributed collaborative learning so that multiple participants can use neural network models collaboratively without sharing the input datasets. To prevent direct leaks of personal information, participants are not shown the training datasets during the model training process, unlike traditional deep learning so that the personal information in the data can be protected. The study used a method that can selectively share subsets via an optimization algorithm that is based on modified distributed stochastic gradient descent, and the result showed that it was possible to learn with improved learning accuracy while protecting personal information.

Korean Traditional Music Genre Classification Using Sample and MIDI Phrases

  • This paper proposes a MIDI- and audio-based music genre classification method for Korean traditional music. There are many traditional instruments in Korea, and most of the traditional songs played using the instruments have similar patterns and rhythms. Although music information processing such as music genre classification and audio melody extraction have been studied, most studies have focused on pop, jazz, rock, and other universal genres. There are few studies on Korean traditional music because of the lack of datasets. This paper analyzes raw audio and MIDI phrases in Korean traditional music, performed using Korean traditional musical instruments. The classified samples and MIDI, based on our classification system, will be used to construct a database or to implement our Kontakt-based instrument library. Thus, we can construct a management system for a Korean traditional music library using this classification system. Appropriate feature sets for raw audio and MIDI phrases are proposed and the classification results-based on machine learning algorithms such as support vector machine, multi-layer perception, decision tree, and random forest-are outlined in this paper.

  • 본 연구는 전통적인 방식으로부터 U-Learning으로 학습 패러다임을 전환하는 효과 및 가능성을 검토하고 제안하기 위한 것이며, E-Learning으로부터 M-Learning 및 U-Learning으로의 교수법 플랫폼 전환을 고려하기 위한 것이다. 개인별 학습 프로세스에 학습 환경이 어떤 영향을 미치는가에 대한 적절한 연구없이는 양질의 교육을 제공하기 어려울 것이다. 현대는 언제 어디서나 교육을 받을 수 있는 새로운 학습 환경 시대를 맞이하고 있으며, 누구나 평생교육을 받을 수 있게 되었다. 이러한 경향의 장점을 최대화하고, 양질의 교육을 진행하기 위한 제한 사항들을 확인하여야 하는데, 이들 요소들은 U-Learning 및 이를 가능하게 하는 기술과 함께 논의되어야 한다. 보급교육 혹은 평생교육은 많은 연구기관의 관심을 받고 있는바, 본 논문에서는 학습 모드 및 학습 양상의 유형에 대한 논의도 포함하였다.

영어교육에서의 전통적 가치관과 미국문화 (Traditional American values and American culture in English education)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate American traditional values and American culture in English education. The understanding of American culture in English education requires the analysis of world changes in the global age. The history of American English, the formation of American society, and the background of natural environment are described in relation to the traditional American values of the earliest settlers, such as multi-culture, individual freedom, frontier heritage in the West, equality of opportunity and wealth and material abundance. Hence the case studies of students' project presentations on the American culture in English education exemplify the reflection of American traditional values in the current American life and society. It is concluded that project-based method with regard to cultural studies in English education reveals very positive learning effects by driving students' interests and active participation through the student-centered, creative, and cooperative project presentations.

협동학습 전략이 중학교 생물학습에서 학생들의 학업성취도와 과학에 대한 태도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Cooperative Learning Strategy on Achievement and Science Learning Attitudes in Middle School Biology)

  • 과학교육에 있어서 전통적 수업은 다양한 학생들의 육성과 요구를 수용하지 못하여 학생들의 과학에 대한 흥미를 저하시켰다. 평균적인 다수의 학생들을 대상으로 한 수업에서 결국 많은 학생들이 수업에 흥미를 잃게 되고 학생들은 타율적인 대상으로만 머물러 자신의 능력을 발휘할 기회를 얻지 못하고 있다. 이러한 문제를 극복하고 학생들의 활동을 격려하며 구성원들의 합의를 통한 문제해결을 이끌어내기 위한 수업 방식으로서 협동학습이 제안되었다. 본 연구에서는 생물교과에 협동학습을 적용하여 그 효과를 분석하고 소집단 학습과 협동학습의 차이를 알아보았다. 중학교 2학년 "동물의 구조와 기능" 단원에서 협동학습, 소집단 학습, 전통적학습을 실시하여 학생들의 과학 학업 성취도와 과학학습 태도에 대한 효과를 분석하였다. 연구대상은 서울시 소재 남녀공학 중학교 2학년 188명이며 10주간 10차시 수업처치를 하였고 사전-사후 통제집단 설계를 사용하였다. 연구 결과는 SPSS 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 공변량분석으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과 협동학습은 소집단 학습이나 전통적 수업에 비해 학생들의 학업 성취도와 과학학습 태도에서 유의미한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다 (p<.05). 그리고 협동학습은 학업 성취도 면에서 성취수준이 상위인 학생들에게 효과가 없었고 중위와 하위의 학생들에게는 유의미한 효과가 있었다 (p<.05). 또한 협동학습은 남학생과 여학생 모두에게 효과적이었다(p<.05). 협동학습은 과학학습 태도의 세 영역인 감정적 영역, 행동 의도적 영역, 인지적 영역에서 모두 유의미한 효과를 보였다(p<.01).

스마트 교육 환경에서 의사소통교육을 위한 지능형 적응 학습에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Intelligent Adaptive Learning for Communication Education in Smart Education Environment)

  • As the world enters the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is represented by advanced technology, it not only changes the industrial field but also the education field. In recent years, Smart Learning has enriched learning by using diverse forms and technologies that utilize vast amount of information about learners' individual knowledge through the emergence of realistic and intelligent contents that combine high technology such as artificial intelligence, big data and virtual reality and there is an increasing interest in intelligent adaptive learning, which can customize individual education. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore intelligent adaptive learning method through recent smart education environment, beyond traditional writing-based communication education which is highly dependent on the competency of instructors. In this study, we analyzed the various learner information collected in the communication course and constructed a concrete teaching and learning method of intelligent adaptive learning based on the instructor's intended smart contents. The result of this study is expected to be the basis of highly personalized teaching and learning method of digital method in communication education which is emphasized in the fourth industrial revolution era.

ICT활용 수업이 학습자의 학업적 자기효능감에 따라 가정과 학업성취와 자원관리행동에 미치는 영향 (The Influences of the ICT Instructions on the Learning Achievement of Home Economics and Resource Management behavior According to Self Efficacy of Learning)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of teacher-directed and learner-directed ICT instructions on the learning achievement of Home Economics and resource management behavior according to self efficacy of learning. The subjects of this study were students, selected from the second grade of D Middle school in Daegu, who were divided into three groups - the traditional instruction, teacher-directed ICT instruction, and learner-directed ICT instruction groups. The students were decided into three groups by their self efficacy of learning level. The experimental instructions were performed, and the learning achievement and resource management behavior estimated using test sheets. The data were processed using two-way ANCOVA and Scheff tests for post-hoc analyses. The results were as follows: First, there was a significant difference in the influence of the ICT instruction on the learning achievement of home economics according to self efficacy of learning. Second, there was a significant difference in the influence of the ICT instruction on the resource management behavior according to self-efficacy of learning.

  • 문제중심학습(Problem-Based Learning)은 학습자 중심으로 학습이 이루어지는 구성주의 모델중의 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 정보보호에 대한 중요성을 학습하기 위하여 캐릭터를 이용한 역할놀이 기반 PBL을 제안하였다. 역할놀이 기반 PBL은 학습자의 특성, 학습과제의 특성을 반영한다는 점에서 다른 PBL 모델과 차별화된다. 또한 인터넷과 모바일 디바이스를 사용하여 학습자들이 주체가 되어 학습하는 학습지원 시스템이다. 실험결과 제안 방법이 정보보호에 대한 전통적인 교사 중심의 수업 방식보다 자기 주도적 학습, 협동학습, 콘텐츠 메이킹, 몰입성에서 효율적임을 보였다.

플립드러닝과 하브루타 학습법에 기반한 학습자 중심의 코딩 수업 설계 및 적용 (Design and application of learner-centered coding class based on flip-learning and havruta learning method)

  • When it comes to the value of modern education, teachers are required to perform the role of a helper to promote interaction between learners, the role of a manager to facilitate smooth learning, and the role of a guide who has expert knowledge in the learning contents. Therefore, this study investigated what kind of learner-centered teaching methods there are, which require teachers to perform the roles of helper, manager, and guide, and conducted a pedagogical research on coding education to explore class models for self-directed learning. Subsequently, a class model was proposed by applying the flipped learning and havruta learning to a coding class. In this study, the learner-centered education methods of flipped learning and havruta method were applied to constructing a coding class as a university general education course. The feature of this class is that it enables dynamic interaction between teachers and learners as well as active interaction between leaners in a classroom instruction. After applying the proposed method to the actual class and analyzing it, the students taught using suggested method were more positively assessed in learning interest than those taught using a traditional method. And that in academic achievement as well, suggested method was more effective.
